  1. What about mid pipe and backbox? You don't 'need' a boost controller (MBC or EBC) with a Jspec. unless you want a more restrictive restrictor ring (say, to limit boost to 1.0 Bar) and then use the boost controller to raise it to 1.2 when you want
  2. You may find this rather reduces the life of your turbos, as the BOV prevents the boosted air from backing up and stalling them when you lift off the throttle. Race cars get a way with no BOV as they get rebuilt all the time, but on a road car, you need it or I think it will be new turbos in a short while.
  3. yeah, you need t rejmove the upper dash with the warning lights, then the speedo dash and the centre dash with the heater controls. You now have access to where the stereo sits. I fitted my new stereo to the metal cage, which just screwed into the car using the existing 4 screw holes. Then replace centre dash, speedo dash & top dash - all done
  4. What sort of radio were you trying to fit? They're all standard single or double din and both sizes should fit easily

    Some help please!

From going by his other thread, I think this is to repair the damage done with the jigsaw
  6. No. 3 spoke plastic. Exactly like the leather one, but with a moulded rubberised plastic rim
  7. Erm that sounds WRONG Screw Head Unit into metal cage. Screw cage into open dash. Refit dash and hey presto:)
  8. Ha Ha. Just did a search and, at random, found a policy that has these word in it under exclusions: Bet that not's called on to be investigated often. Would have thought the car was the least of your worries LOL
  9. Don't know Rob. I'll ask him tomorrow and post up
  10. Hi, My brother (against my advice!!) bought an MGF in November. He got a 3 month warranty and then when that ran out took out another years extended mechanical failure warranty. His car has just died and it's in the garage and they've taken the head off and one of con-rod bearings has welded itself (not 100% sure as my bro is useless with stuff like this). The warranty people have inspected it and said it's 'wear & tear' not mechanical failure, so won't pay anything towards the repair (he's been quoited £700) Anyone got any suggestions? I also suggested he got the tappets done, as I believe these are a weak spok on the old K-series, while the heads off anyway, but he ignored my suggestion
  11. Yep. Assuming I get offered it, I'll have it and see how we go. Need to find somewhere to park it though - 3 cars is getting a bit much, LOL.
  12. Paul, I've got a 3-spoke standard non airbag plastic steering wheel & soon I'll have a leather one when my TRD arrives (3-4 weeks hopefully). Plastic one in the garage - need to check condition
  13. Easy fit mate. Just tape up the centre lug hole, as the TRD does not use these
  14. OK, some more info car is UK 1.8i model and has 122K miles and will come with 12 months MOT and 6 months tax. Have used Schtuv's linked thread to find out all the things to look for - will try to view it later today
  15. I just removed a nut from a stud on the Turbo manifold, placed the BOV fixing bracket over the stud. Attached BOV, then when got position right, tightened all nuts etc. The insulation on the underside of the bonnet does touch the BOV, but it's fine. 10 mins (and a cut finger!)
  16. Can't believe this is not sold. It's immaculate Stunning car mate. If I was looking for a turbo coupe, I think this would be it
  17. 1.8i. Not sure on mileage (like a dumbass, I forgot to ask:search:)
  18. Probably first one for looks, although the blue one is nice, and I've always liked Estoril Blue M3s, but somehow looks too boring compared to the black one. It is newer, cheaper and lower mileage though
  19. :d Just off where the A14 meets the A605/A45 from Oxford up to Peterborough about 20 miles SW of Peterborough
  20. Just been having oil change at local garage and a guy was there with an MX5 which he wants to sell. It's a 1995 M reg, standard except for he's fitted a twin exhaust. It's had new brakes (inc calipers), new shocks, all new bushes, welding & waxoil done. and the guys at the garage (who I've known for about 5 years) all say it's mechanically 100%. Interior look very tidy too. He wants £1700 Is this a good price? Had insurance quote off Sky of approx £300 Could a nice little runabout for summer
  21. Where you driving from? I'm staying over by Oundle & Thrapston
  22. Thanks Gaz. Not requiring a hotel, as I'm staying at my folks over the weekend near Peterborough, so driving across for the Saturday
