  1. It's still not 100%. We might discover the theory of everything has to involve us living in a 5th dimension where there's another fundamental force (the electro strong semi weak nuclear graviton magnetic force?), which just happens to tie everything together in some clever way, but means the Earth is actually polyhedronal and it is our vision and measurement type which is skewed to make the Earth appear round. OK it's a long shot but that's what they said when they 'knew' the Earth was flat.
  2. I didn't even know about Supras when I was 18, I'd had a Metro and a Rover 414 and I bought a brand new MG ZR160. Everyone told me not to and that I'd die horribly but I didn't. TBH if I had got a Supra I may well have died horribly, because even after learning in a reasonably fast FWD hatch I still had to be VERY careful in it. You do get complacent as well which is very dangerous in a car like that.
  3. This I can completely agree with, reducing population is the single stone that will kill hundreds of birds. SO MANY of the worlds problems can be attributed to it, it's quite amazing that it hasn't come up as a major factor to be dealt with (because of human rights I guess).

    Wet dreams...

Yeah you should have phoned yours and done it the other way around, not telling her insurance company they haven't shafted you enough!!

    Wet dreams...

The insurance companies hold all the cards though, once they've written it off as 'for parts only' surely that means nobody will ever be able to drive it ever again.
  6. But what about if they are right, but still can't prove it? Surely it's better to play it safe rather than take a gamble for the sake of taxes and profiteering etc? Unless you're really saying the scientists KNOW it's all cobblers and are all faking it so they can get grants - because I really can't believe that.
  7. How many blokes wash their hands before having a wee? To keep the little man clean.
  8. More angry really, and mostly your OP. I shouldn't even be arguing in this kind of discussion really cos I don't know anything about it, just going by what I've read. So you may well be right - funny cos I usually go for the cynical view!
  9. Ice boring. //edit: the next ice age IS around the corner. I can't find the info I read before but this is similar and even seems more recent: http://www.eurekalert.org/multimedia/pub/8131.php?from=114124 So in the next 3000-5000 years we will drop into another glacial period. Aji, You asked where the data is (actually you asked for verified results), from the same site:
  10. I'm no expert, I've done no research, at the moment I'm only listening to what I see on TV etc. so yes my basis is very flawed. But look at people like martini who claim to be studying this kind of thing, he seems to know what he's talking about so I believe it: Whereas in contract you just sound aggressive and shouty, presumably because you feel like you're being taken for a ride. Honestly we may well be, I don't know, but at the moment I'm believing these 'scientists' you keep mentioning.
  11. Hahahaha..... No. You can't really mean that?
  12. Are there actually any scientists who don't believe it then? who else can they ask for a counter argument? I wonder how much 7 billion litres of water really would change the sea level.
  13. You call that magnified!!!!!! this is magnified: http://www.boston.com/bigpicture/2008/11/peering_into_the_micro_world.html The best pic, is obviously, the weevil.
  14. Can't see the 3rd pic, 1 and 2 are good. WTF is no.4? I like this pic: Also shows how amazing the Polarion PH50 torch is!! Why didn't they use them in The Descent?
  15. Who, this guy? Seems perfectly normal.
  16. Wouldn't we also be catapulted into the sun, or off into space?
  17. Yeah but it's only Christmas no1 at the end of the day. Who gives a f*ck! Just put Elf or The Santa Clause on TV, grab your chocs and beer, and veg out for the evening.
  18. It's not really is it. How many of them bought the Miley Cyrus version? So they don't actually like the song, they just like him, or at least they like X-Factor and will buy it because they were told to.
  19. At the end of the day it's 65p! You get asked for more by charity scroungers in shopping centres!! It's worth it IMO just to see something like that at no1, in a way to prove that people do have some sort of power when they want to. Plus maybe next year there'll be 5 different bands in on the act trying to get xmas no1 and there'll be some good battles to choose from.
  20. It's peoples own personal contributions as well as the percentage from the sales: http://www.justgiving.com/ratm4xmas/ £38k+ just from people giving on the 'justgiving' site, they may not have even bought the single!
  21. We carry a little bottle of alcohol gel with us all the time (mainly because of the dog), so I don't bother washing but I do clean my hands after with gel.
