  1. Mark, I thought you already had an intercooler in at Elvington? You were flying too. Why have you got another one mate?
  2. Yep easy. 2 bolts at each join in the pipe. (WD40!) Need it raised on axle stands or sumink tho to get underneath Cheers
  3. I don't think it is my fuel cut defenser as I regularly get above stock 14 psi and it doesn't cut in. As I say it seems to be when I hold the throttle at a constant level and just ease the acceleration up gradually. When it does happen it tends to be at the same speed so I think this rules out the FCD. Difficult to troobleshoot as the speed needed is 'quite high'. I don't think saying "well officer I think my speed delimiter is faulty so I was just testing it" would go down too well:D Any more ideas folks?? PS. Fcuk I hate Monday's!
  4. Does anyone know of any know causes/problems with the speed deliliter? Today a Porsche came steaming up behind me in the out side lane so I obliged of course and went steaming after him but when I got to 'a certain speed' it cut out. I let off the throttle and got back up to the same speed and it did it again! About an hour later on my return journey I tried the same speed again and it didn't cut in this time? Seems to happen at lower revs ie when I'm accelerating gradually and not using kick down. Could it be that the delimiter doesn't work in 4th gear? Please help if you know anything. In the meantime I'll have to take the dash out and check the wires AGAIN! BTW where is the little unit located? Cheers
  5. You don't drive like a p*ssy mate. I saw you go after that Volvo into the bend! I remember because at the time I thought to myself 'what a mad f*cker' About J-Spec brakes I would say that if you have gone fully de-catted and bigger bore exhaust ie 18 psi then this was when I noticed that my usually solid stools became quite runny. (That means that the brakes didn't stop me very quickly and I shat myself on a couple of occasions) I would probably go for uprated CW front pads even though they do sound a little bit like scraping your finger nails down a blackboard. Sorry Chris
  6. Nah m8. I have a digital/electronic gauge. It comes with it's own pressure sensor unit that plumbs into the existing turbo vacuum hoses. I just tucked it away somewhere in the engine bay. Nothing to do with the ECU.
  7. Well played Dom son. Bloody good times!
  8. Hmmmm, cheers for that Ian, good reading. Looking like around 5K for a 100 reliable bhp then. Don't think I can even justify that to myself which is usually very easy. Perhaps I'll just get an intercooler and Stillen bumper for now :( Another controversial one for you guys. Does putting an intercooler on a bpu J-Spec give you more bhp/power/acceleration? Seems like MKIV.com think it does. (Don't want to start a MKIV.COM vs MKIVSUPRA.NET war here!)
  9. Christ, this extra 100 bhp is looking like it is gonna cost me a fortune Who's Julian?
  10. Thanks JB. A RELIABLE 450 is what I want. So I will also need 550 cc injectors and a UK spec fuel pump is this correct?
  11. That is about the size of it Andrew mate. I probably will give it to Leon to do the work anyway. I just want to get a handle on what is needed and what things are just luxury to keep to the costs to a minimum. Cheers
  12. I want 450 bhp on my supe. What extra objects do I need so I can start saving up? HAVE: Nur Spec with restrictor plate Full De-Cat TRL FCD Speed Delimeter Currently running just under 18 psi NEED?: Intercooler? Hybrid Turbos? What other essentials? (not good to have's) Thanks guys.
  13. I'd really like blue lights in me cockpit too but it looks like a right old palava. How long does it take. Did you snap / knacker anything during the process? Also what about the ODO? If that stays green it would look a bit sh*te no? Finished work does look good though.
  14. I used these people. Delivered to your door mate.
  15. Is it true then that I will get more horsey power by having colder air in the engine even with stock turbos? IE with an intercooler fitted? Cheers
  16. R17's Front 235 45 Rear 255 / 40 Goodyear EAGLE F1 GSD-3 (£119 inc VAT & Delivery for each rear) Very good grippy tyres with nice tread pattern. I was launching on a soaking wet airstrip on Sunday with 70mph winds and they stuck to the track nicely. After the runs I was deliberately trying to do some drifting round the wet bend and found it harder than I expected as the grip was very good. Cheers Justin
  17. This is true but a lady driven Skyline (all respect given) isn't the main reason for wanting to get to 450bhp. Thanks for the reply Gavin. Things are getting clearer.
  18. Pete, good info thanks. The thing is I am already running at 17.7 psi with a restrictor plate in the pipeline. So really the bleeder valve wont help me will it. Can I run a few questions by you guys: 1. Is it safe to say that you can't really get much more than 360 bhp out of a Supe with the standard Jap Turbos in place? 2. If I want to get to between 400/450bhp do I need FMIC, Hybrids Turbos, any fuelling mods, ECU? What else would I need? 3. With hybrids what safe boost should I expect to be running at? I think my goal is about 450BHP. Thanks a lot guys. After seeing that bird with the Skyline on BBC last night I don't wnat her beating me on the strip EVER!
  19. Cheers Alex, will I get much more power from just fitting the intercooler or will I have to fit other bits before I get any noticeable gains? Secondly will most intercoolers fit behind the standard front bumper? Ta
  20. OK I've got cats out, Blitz exhaust on, FCD, cooler plugs, Boost gauge. What should I look at next to get more power out of my J-Spec Auto guys? Can you add pros and cons if you can be bothered too. (I know that I need better pads too coz stopping is getting hairy) Ta Justin
  21. I have OD off for chicane work. It keeps up the revs round those tight bends. When I want to nail someone on sraights I keep OD on as I find that at top end speeds you need 4th. I tried messing with L and 2 but cant really say I'm any good at driving in that way. I will put it in L if I want to do a doughnut but that's about it. But hey I'm no Schumacher and each to his own. As for drag racing tomorrow (never done it before) do people think it is best to turn off slip control for a launch? J:flame Dev
  22. Phil, you thinking of going up to 550's? J.
