  1. Aye. What we need is something like this
  2. Thanks for the informative info James! Yes that makes sense, and without thinking about it too much, that seems to me to suggest that if costs are broadly similar between suppliers, it's going to work out fair one way or the other. If we're paying too much to Southern, we'd have paid less in a final bill to British Gas or whoever it was. Fair enough. Only problem is that we pay this amount again for the next year, so it works out fair for the first year, but if it was wrong, we don't recoup the loss second year on. hmmm.
  3. I know some people pay more, but I think £40/month is quite a lot of money for something like Gas. Here's what we use gas for: the cooker and hot water. That's it. We use a microwave a lot too, but it's just the cooker and hot water really. Yes we do have a combi boiler for heating, and it does get used in the Winter but not too much 'cause I like to feel cold in bed so I can cuddle up under the covers.
  4. Super. Shall I PM my address, get them boxed up, and you have a courier come collect them from me? I have a dentist appointment Monday morning and have to go out for a job in the afternoon, but I'm in and home most of the time nowadays other than that.
  5. We've just discovered that we haven't been paying gas either. I kind of knew it actually since looking at Amanda's bank statements and seeing nothing going out. Electricity is on a pay as you go card.. can't recommend them enough Anyway, so we got a bill for £450 covering a two-week period (June 16 - June 28th). I rang and said this seems suspiciously like the dates that I filled in the meter reading card. What had happened is that Amanda was sold on the "move over to us for cheaper gas bills. We'll set up direct debit right now", and did all that, but they failed to setup the direct debit or even send any bills. The guy confirmed that it was their fault, and now we're paying the £450 for the last year over the next 12 months (£37.5/month), and the same again every month for the forthcoming year since that's supposed to be our estimated usage. What concerns me still though, is that this £450 is based on an initial estimate. i.e. the bills starts with an 'estimated' meter reading, and then ends with an actual reading that I had given on the meter reading card. How can they take-over a gas contract, i.e. take on a new customer, without actually taking an actual meter reading? Surely as part of a new contract/customer, you would start with an actual meter reading? This is Southern Electric by the way. Hope you get sorted with British Gas Jay.
  6. General consensus is that those pictures were faked.
  7. RSR Race Springs (unsure of model), very low apparently. I bought them along with some Bilstein shocks. I never intended on using the springs so they are for sale. I'm told they are stiff and low so watch out for twichiness! Paint has peeled/corroded quite a bit. Can't see that mattering personally. I'd say they're probably too heavy to post. Certainly too heavy for Royal Mail, so if someone wants them and they have to be posted, it'll probably be £25 postage through Business Post. http://www2.css-networks.com/rsrsprings.jpg
  8. blue? Ah, just read.. the grills. I didn't realise they did different shades of speaker grills.
  9. Yeah I just found that out after a quick google So a 'stocks and shares ISA' is just tax-free investment in private companies? Same risk as any other shares investment, just tax-free?
  10. Sorry, it's actually £3k per year, not six months. You could only put £3k into an ISA each year. The numbers might change each year as the Chancellor does his budgets.
  11. You can't put £10k into an ISA. There are set limits to how much can be put in every six months, I think it's around £2,500 every six months. You could always put some in the girlfriend/wife's ISA though. If you pay off the loan early, will that lessen the amount of interest you have to pay? If so then the interest saved would probably be higher than interest gained in a regular savings account, and possibly an ISA. I definitely wouldn't advise spending the money on unnecessaries while you have outstanding debts.
  12. Pressed and Steamed monies : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dbglCKWScjA
  13. Ah, do you remember the one about the guy who presses the notes "in your bank account" (inside the ATM) so that they're nice and crisp, who'd had a cardiac arrest, so he needed the bank account details to get the man out before he died
  14. It's nice, but the bonnet is a big froggy to me.
  15. I love the monies one. Awesome
  16. I knew I was talking bollocks, but I still knew that I was right that you were wrong, if you see what I mean I knew the wideband was a replacement for a narrowband lamba sensor, and I knew that that meant I was talking bollocks about the wideband being related to the MAP/MAF, but hey ho
  17. I don't think so (but I'm non-technical remember ). Whether it's MAP, MAF, whatever, it's still a shitty narrowband sensor.
  18. Yep, just use an electric. I was given a Philips Williams-racing weird looking thing for christmas. Although it takes ages to shave with, and leaves a few here and there, at least you won't get a rash.
  19. Autos are the future. One of mankind's greatest inventions
  20. Oh, hang on. After mucho waiting (5 minutes after the 1.5mb was transferred), it now says Sucess! The video isn't showing in my uploaded videos yet though. Somebody has suggested using the Linux version of the uploader, which is written in Java.
  21. I've never uploaded a video before, but it's just not working. I tried the web uploader, twice with firefox, then I tried IE6. No good. It transfers some data, then just sits there, and then after a good few minutes it returns me to the "Upload your videos - sign in" page. So now I just tried the Desktop Uploader application. This transfers all 1.5mb of 1.5mb, then sits there doing nothing Any ideas? There don't seem to be any notices on http://googlevideostatus.blogspot.com/ I want to post a video of a problem with my Focal speaker for posting on here. Google Video would be best because we can embed the videos in our posts, can't we? I tried removing spaces from the filename, because I read that it used to be a problem. Still the same. The file is a simple mpeg2 file. No funny codecs at all.
  22. Just to clarify then, are the TuboFit guys going to be doing the same work from that other company across the road? The one that JamieP said will be doing all his work from now on?
  23. I think I'd wanna get out if my world consisted of a perspex box too
  24. Bye everybody. This thread's been interesting
  25. The OEM Toyota ones are apparently made of cheese Perhaps that's the 12yr old Toyota ones. They may have changed them.
