  1. Just typed a post and the frikkin' cat stepped on the Thinkpad "Backward" button. Grrr. I was going to say, even if you weren't using a laptop as well and securing the wireless side for that reason, you'd still need to either secure or switch off the wireless side of the router even though you're using a wired connection, since certain types of traffic such as arp broadcasts and dhcp requests are still going out over the air. This, and having access to the router in general could allow somebody to easily direct your traffic though a path that they can monitor and extract information from. You wouldn't want strangers using your internet anyway, unless you were up to no good and wanted a "it wasn't me" get-out. Goddamn kittens. We've got five of them any they're all over my legs and the laptop. If I had a suit on I'd have stamped on the fuc*ers by now.

    IT Contracting

You need a payroll bureau. My accountants do this for me under the guise of "BC Payroll Bureau Ltd", a sort of sub-company of theirs.
  3. Water injection and FMIC should help it run more boost than regular BPU which should mean a bit above standard BPU power, although the cars make less than 280rwhp stock so I guess your figure is still probably about right anyway.
  4. He'd make a useless salesman..
  5. That's the way mine went. It used to just require a tap, then it died completely. I can't remember how I got it out, but I remember it was very easy . It's a white bulb with a green sleeve over it if I remember correctly.
  6. So what's the thing on the back then? Looks like a pair of speakers :o
  7. £12k is a lot of money ! Enjoy it anyway
  8. Oh right. I don't think there's a better description, but why bother. You might as well say that it's got spark plugs, rubber tyres, injectors, a crank, disk brakes, four wheels, wheel nuts, paint, glass windows, seats, carpet, a speedometer, tachometer, engine, fuel tank, yadda yada..
  9. Fabulous choice of laptop
  10. You need to know that most capture cards and also cheaper DVRs, sort of channel-scan (not sure of the correct term) through the ADC chip (the capture chip), so for example they might have a single Rockwell/Conexant/Brooktree capture chip which is capable of 25fps PAL or 30fps NTFS overall, but that's it. So if you are using four cameras then you won't be able to get more than 7fps per channel. These cards have costed ~£10 for as long as I can remember (lots of years) and haven't changed much at all. A proper card which can capture 25fps on four channels will cost more. I think in theory a card with four of the bt84x chips on it is supposed to be dedicating one to each channel, but I even think there are fakes out there where they stick a load of chips on the card just so it appears to be a higher-end one - it's just like PC Chips did with the fake cache memory chips on their motherboards. I could be wrong though. Also some DVRs (unsure about capture cards and PC DVR software) will specify a nice maximum resolution, but this is not a recording resolution, just a viewing resolution, strangely. The recording resolution is lower (typically half the vertical resolution of that stated as the maximum resolution). GeoVision really is a proper setup apparently.
  11. A big problem seems to be software from my limited experience of DVRs and their PC applications. I know you're not talking about a DVR per-se, but the software will still be an issue. GeoVision is supposed to be very good though, although expensive.
  12. Thanks. I try to be helpful sometimes
  13. Cool, glad you got there in the end. No idea why the normal import wouldn't work though

    £1000.00 Road Tax

Yeah. You and another 49% of the forum
  15. Just going back to your difficulty using the Windows Mail import wizard. You haven't renamed the .dbx files have you? I should imagine Folders.dbx contains entries listing the different .dbx files by filename.
  16. I did pay the $5 for a copy of DBXtract about six months ago. Can't remember if it saves as .eml but I suspect it does. Looking for the program now. edit: here you go (attached). You can "borrow" my copy of DBXtract. I'll delete it off this post shortly though as I don't want to get in trouble for pirating a reasonably priced piece of software. I suppose if I was there in person I'd just run it myself and it'd all be kosher anyway I've only used it once, maybe six months ago, but the web page says you can drag/drop from its interface.
  17. Strange. Where have you put this Outlook Express folder? Is it under your Documents folder? Do you have any antivirus software that might be scanning the .dbx files and thereby locking them as you're try to access them?

    Out of date drugs

It really does depend on the drug. LSD for example deteriorates almost immediately upon contant with chlorine, as found in tap water. It also doesn't like sunlight. Mescaline lasts for ever. Cocaine is hygroscopic, so should be OK as long as it's left in an airtight container away from moisture. MDMA should last forever also.
  19. Right, it does work, but it requires the Folders.dbx file to be present alongside the whatever.dbx file you want to import from. It then imports into "Imported Folders -> Foldername", and the messages are indeed turned into individual .eml files. I have 9,600 of them now You can then select them all and drag them into your normal inbox from within Windows Mail. Normally you would have moved/copied the entire OE store directory anyway so would have the Folders.dbx already there, but if you have just brought across Inbox.dbx then you'll need to go get Folders.dbx too. The OE store directory can be found via Tools -> Options -> Maintenance -> Store Directory in Outlook Express.
  20. I understand what you're trying to do. I'll test it with a .dbx file from my XP Pro machine now.
  21. Yeah, sort of except you don't have an inbox eml file, you have an Inbox folder with each individual message stored as a .eml file. The import should work just fine. I should think it'll ask you where you want to files dumped. I should say, I haven't actually done it, but I really can't see that Windows Mail would just create a new folder and use the dbx file for that, it would almost certainly import from the .dbx thereby creating .eml messages. I upgraded my XP Pro laptop to Vista and all my messages became .eml files, so I would think that's that case anyway.
  22. I've caught it on TV twice I think now, and I find it quite involving, in a weird frightening what-if sort of way. It's interesting to hear the guy going on with himself too.
  23. If the heater controls are not working then it's unlikely to be a blocked matrix. First thing I would do is get the heater controls out, take it apart and re-melt the solder. It's easy enough to do, not much chance of anything going wrong.
  24. What, like go to school and learn how to write and spell?
  25. I love the interior. What's the engine management/monitoring array?
