  1. t61 from Vortex....awesome backup and top people.
  2. ....and it took ages to unwrap
  3. Well I knew it was speed sensor related due to a code 42 on a diagnostic check. I changed the converter to a thor unit which didn't alleviate the problem so it only really left the odo as the source of grief.
  4. Emin - a member on here, did an electrical bypass on one of the odo's curcuit wires.
  5. Could be a dodgy speed converter or as in my case when I had the same symptoms, a corrupt odo problem.
  6. As above a.s.a.p. Pm's please.
  7. Give us a bell if you want to hook up as you pass through Thetford mate
  8. Just spat my coffee out mate...lol
  9. I suppose you can class me as 'Joe Public' so here's my two cents worth- When my turbo's died I looked for the best value for money solution for my budget, this ment- a) Find someone who has had real life experience of most forms of mods on the supra (who is readily accessable!) and extract as much info as possible. b) Get a reliable source to supply the parts when you want them and with damn good back up in case things are wrong. c) Build up the guts to install myself (first major job i've had the courage to do and saved a nice wedge ). d) Say thanks to various members on the board who were happy to help with advice, welding spanners and even popping over to just offer encouragement Some of it was a pain in the arse but the feeling at the end was far more enhanced because of the effort put in and the people i have met and made friends with along the way. I think we are fortunate that there is excellent pool of knowledge on the board at our finger tips, it's just a case of seperating the wheat from the chaff.
  10. Richard, i'll hook with you as you come by Thetford on the bypass....Texaco garage ok? Mob number pm'd
  11. Nice one Jake, much respect mate.
  12. Just to clarify .....there was also many occasions when the autobox problem was accompanied with the engine check light.
  13. I had a few occasions when mine payed up and I never saw engine light at the same time
  14. Gav, have you looked for any stored error codes? My chief suspect would be a 42.
  15. I would get the odo looked at, i'd say that's your culprit
  16. I had a problem concerning "code 42" which had me pulling my hair out for ages. Initial symptoms were: a) Active spoiler light flashing and spoiler not dropping when it should. b) Engine management light coming on after hitting 60mph. Which progressed to: c) O/D light flashing intermittently. d) Gearbox intermittently giving up the ghost until speeds of less than 10mph were reached then limp home mode - couple of occasions via low loader. Final solution for me was: Contacted Emin, who came over and like me could not find the converter but as a guess tried the 'bypass a bit of circuitry in the odo' job and all the listed problems have since vanished. ....auto btw
  17. Haha......nothing for 500+ horses to overcome lol.
  18. Thanks mate, nice surprise to see you.....maybe you can renew your visa ready for a longer stay next month
