  1. As i say-obviously not simplistic enough for some:d
  2. No definitely not rocket science -Your still here;) Threads progress-(thats the nature of them),and regardless of who is paying for the Mosque, some people here dont agree with it.(Please read complete post-ie All pages!) Dont think i or anybody else was "moaning" about churches not being built in other countries-we were just pointing out the double standards, in what we thought was the most simplistic way possible-obviously not simple enough for some:)
  3. Ive had 3 of them,86,89,96,(ridden 02,and 05) Lovely bikes,does everything it should,utterly reliable,great wheelie potential,comfortable,good handling etc etc,but unless your 50+ you will get bored very quickly. Gsxr=smile. Vfr=transport.
  4. Not irrelevant at all-(for alot of people at least-myself included). I truly believe IF you choose to live in a country thats not your own,you should accept their laws, accepted behaviour, and respect their religious beliefs-NOT try and import your views, beliefs and more importantly religion.
  5. God i love this country-Ban Ban Ban,(let everyone out of jail-including terrorists, peodophiles and rapists)but encourage disease ridden immigrants(look the figures up) yes lets ban smoking-that'l help. Whats next-Wanking?
  6. Dont know how compact your looking for,but Panasonic(Leica) FZ series are fantastic-After having one for two months i sold all my dslr stuff.Ive been using leica, nikon and olympus film cameras for 20 years and even compared to these-Picture quality is stunning(grainy low light-but no worse than film)
  7. Not really sure who is paying for it-(first ive heard of it) Presumably the Islamic faith would have no problem with anyone building £100m Church of England church in any of their countries? Maybe a hospital may be a better idea? Or at least a few cleaners for our Hospitals.

    help (newbie)

Yes they will cope with added boost (though will probably reduce turbo life-as with all turbos). However anything over 1.2 bar will be like a grenade with the pin pulled-i.e. its gonna go bang you just dont know when. As for reliability compared to uk ones-The ceramic ones are more prone to extensive damage if hit by anything(spark plug electrode etc) However as there are fewer uk car owners on this forum we tend to hear of more jspec failures than uk ones.

    help (newbie)

J spec ceramic turbos spool up quicker than uk ones, Dont discount the auto box on uk or jspec-they are very very good. The brakes ARE better on uk cars though(however alot of jspecs have had uk brakes fitted) If not, then fitting decent pads etc can improve things to a level good enough for the road(for most mere mortals anyway) Good luck.
  10. Right your first big mistake was owning up-NEVER admit anything. You could have sent him to get a pint of milk in your car, then when he got back scream "what the hell have you done to my wheels-ill never forgive you for this" However its too late for that,so just withhold sex for a few minutes-should work:)
  11. 2 piece(floating) discs- "The advantage of this type of construction is reduced weight. By making the center-section of the disc out of aluminum, a great deal of weight can be saved in a key location, as it is both unsprung and rotating. The greatest advantage, however, lies in the float itself. The brake discs must cope with extreme temperature levels. In the case of a non-floating disc, thermal stresses develop which lead to warping of the disc and cupping of the braking surface. With the full floating system, the disc is free to grow relative to the bell, and can remain straight and true." Thats the theory anyway.
  12. ok maybe i will give this a go,unless anyone comes up with anymore ideas on why this is a really bad idea! Please look out for my future thread-entitled "My engine just inhaled shattered bits of Trac butterfly-help"
  13. mmm-was kinda hoping someone was going to say "what a brilliant idea,i did it it works perfectly!" I was thinking of "trimming" the stock butterfly valve down by a percentage (as above). To retain the stock T/C system but reducing its effect when it kicks in. Would this still give harsh shifts? I was assuming this would be easy-couple of screws out, remove flap, grind a bit off, stick it all back together and declare myself a genius. Seems im deluding myself-as usual. Thanks everyone for help so far.
  14. I would imagine the better option would be to replace the 2nd cat rather than the first, this may let you boost to your 1bar(ish) without needing a boost controller. This will also move any extra heat further away, reducing the risk of high egts.
  15. Sorry Homer,im doing a bad job of making myself clear- i dont want to disable the trac permanantly,i dont really want to press the trac off button everytime i drive the car either(though i would like to hear your opinion on weather or not this is a bad thing to do) I was asking if its possible/sensible to reduce the size or the trac valve so that it does not completely shut off all power. If it allowed say 30% flow instead of none,it would still restrict power, but would not cut ALL power. The auto box would still change gear as usual-i assume?
  16. I understand the Auto gearshift/Trac issues-harsh gearchanges etc. But as everytime i get in the car,i turn off t/c (is that bad?)-on an auto. Wouldnt this idea work?
  17. I realise it dates back to the stoneage, I also know i should fit rltc. Just wondered if my theory was sound and would work?
  18. The reason i asked about the A/C was because i had similar symptoms with my last car(MK3-turned out to be a Head gasket:( ) However its fairly unlikely on a mk4,as you have the thermostat, change that, flush the radiator, check all the hoses, change the coolant, then keep an eye on temp gauge for a few days.
  19. Well im happy to market it,but you will have to do the tech stuff, you will need alot of sensors for the "Chavometer" though. 1-Hat facing wrong way sensor 2-Trousers 4 sizes too big sensor 3-Bling sensor 4-Tasteful sensor-(second thoughts, scrub that one) 5-Monosyllabic speech sensor. Think were onto a winner here:) Ps The sensors need to be very big and shiny, and the Gauge itself should ideally fill the whole passenger space. Apologies-i know this is a serious post.
  20. One for the tech bods. Have read alot and experienced(in the wet) the limitations of the stock traction control system, when it cuts in it prety much cuts all power. My question is-if this is purely down to the intake butterfly valve closing(i may well be wrong),could the butterfly valve be modified (cut away) i.e. still let some airflow through,as opposed to stock-where it closes completely.Hence reducing power rather than cutting all power.
  21. I dont, but as i have a Walnut dash in mine, you can ignore my opinion:)
  22. Phrase? I thought it was a new instrument i could put next to my boost gauge:d
