  6. DOT 5.1, cheers mate. i may need to borrow it. if i cant get it done by this mechanic i know cash in hand. how much will i need? 1litre?
  7. im in thinking i need to get myself a lady friend over time to go through the phonebook
  8. ive been reading up on the post in other thread of trigs about GT4 online, i got my PC system all setup ready to go for online play!
  9. yea i know he meant to do whole lot again so i asked if i come back soon, will he have to do it all again. i siad hows about next sat he said ok then. ( i think its ok as he has to do the paperwork parts again anyway (emissions + brakes) air sounds likely as i changed the discs and pads myself and never changed fluid and ive had a soft brake pedal after heavy braking a few times. ermmm what DOT is it i need to put in again? if it is a seized piston i been told that as temperory to get it through the MOT a good freeing session when changing the fluid should do. then get them refurbed.
  10. :rich: nice one, bit of cash saved so you just need a router and then to set it up. i been reading through the GT4 online bit that komp posted up, im impressed and will definatly be giving it a go. A bit GT4 online sounds cool
  11. the port on the back of the PS2 that the RJ45 plugs into. (looks like a big telephone hole) well you will have one on the back of your PC mate
  12. you sod..twist my words! im more man then she could handle anyway well thats what my bf says anyway you can ask him...his name is steve w2 lol
  13. am i right in thinking, your saying the non-online version can be played online via this peice of software or something? If so can you send me a direct link to info im very interested but getting lost on the forum so many topics!!
  14. you know the PS2 has that RJ45 on back to connect to the router? a network card is exactly the Same but for a computer instead. You have to do some minimal setting up but if you have problems when you bought it all, i can be on end of a phone for ya
  15. thanx mate, i have retest next weekend sat at 11:30. this way it just has to restest on brakes and emissions not the whole lot i was there for a bloody hour and half!
  16. BINGO and when setting up the PS2 Yep thats a ADSL modem. With the router, you put your logon username and password for the adsl into the router so it connects and always stays connected. instead of entering it in the login software you may have on ur pc from then on, on the PC, you then just double click on internet explorer to go on, you will need a netowrk card in the PC, if you havent already got one
  17. do you think this is it, that heat shield is gonna cut me too bits!! Jake / Ben what did you use to clean yours?
  18. Trig if u can mate, take a pic of the back of the current modem unit you got, so we can all confirm you got ADSL modem. The router replaces the modem, so you plug the line lead directly into the router , the router then cleverly shares the internet connection to all connection devies, i.e PC, PS2. you plug each device into the back of the router thats it in simple terms
  19. wish mine had said that, not exactly a massive fail either! but on plus side it not exactly loads work and massive problems, just annoying! although i am gonna pay someone to bleed brakes then test them.
  20. ive got no turbos same place?
  21. Jake, wheres the sensor and was it a bugger to get off?
  22. cheers for that Jake, just spoke to dad's friend who mechanic he siad exactly what you said. take the thing out blow in it and then get the thing bloody hot for when you get there, in case it the CAT, also said check air filter see if it blocked. As for the brakes, im pretty sure ive cocked up i remember after doing it thinking it felt like it was pulling a bit ABS - mechanic said same as u, get it off and make sure all pistons are free, then do a brake fluid change. (might take it too a garage as i cocked up last time) i got no % failure it just says excessive inbalance front As there Jakes old brakes im blaming him just as well i got friday off!!
  23. im also wondering is there different tests for UK model and NA jap spec or same test.
  24. well my car has failed its MOT on 3 things. Fog light wrong colour - easily solvable ill be getting the red paint out again! excessive brake imbalance on the front - i changed the front discs and pads since last MOT, guessing i must of got air in there. anyone in bmth wana help me coz i must be a cock! 3rd and most worringly emissions to high (LAMBDA)- it says on sheet fast idle fail, 1.051 max is 1.031 what can i do to sort out the emissions?? will resetting ECU and filling up with optimax before the MOT be enough to sort it? any ideas be very helpful i got till next sat to sort it
