The JAE organisers have very kindly agreed to give me / Macmillan a trade stand at this years event and to recognise them as the official charity. It is a tremendously generous gesture and could mean a huge amount of money is collected for the charity. So, illness permitting, I will definitely be there and hopefully giving MAC 1 its debut too!

The bodywork condition is immaterial as it is only the mechanical bits required. Also, it can be a manual or auto. If you know of any (other than those currently on eBay and trader) can you please let me know.

Went to bed at midnight and, as if on cue, the pain woke me at 3.00. Back, front upper thighs and hips all giving me extreme grief and yet as I sit here on the settee having a cup of tea, it starts to ease - but if I went back to bed now, the pain will undoubtedly start up again. Time to dose up on Oramorph and try again on an hour.

My last real hope is a new mattress I have just had bought for me (got to love ex wives eh?) that is being delivered this Friday. The last time I bought a cheap topper it seemed to do the trick up until recently and so maybe - just maybe - this may work again. OK, it wont help my sleep when away but it will allow me to have good nights sleep prior to going and I think that would be OK to get me through.

I rang them today John and my insurers wont entertain him due to his age. I stupidly went with a non specialist insurer when I did it on my own and they almost had a seizure when I told them about the engine change and now adding Josh (even for a few days) is a no go as far as they are concerned.

It is with a heavy heart that I have to concede defeat to my pain issue and confirm I cannot attend this years event If it were just pain alone then I am sure I could work through it but it means a lack of sleep and that coupled with driving could be a dangerous combination that could lead to tragic consequences. The tickets cost £212 and I would like to sell them for around £180 but looking at other threads I cannot see that happening. Instead, I would like to offer the following: How about I sell to whoever is the highest bidder by midnight Friday and all the money will go to Macmillan Cancer Support?

Unfortunately I am definitely out. Another fairly sleepless night last night and a dozy / sleepy day today has convinced me that for safety's sake if nothing else, I need to cancel. I am now going to have radiotherapy start in 7-10 days to see if that helps. To say that josh and I are disappointed would be a huge understatement. We really wanted to do this trip to reinforce the bond that was created all those years ago when we were more active on the car scene. We wanted to relive the fun we shared when we went on the very first dragonball - and now that's out of the window. I will put the tickets up for sale shortly but don't hold out much hope of selling even though the money raised will be given to Macmillan.

Thank you friend . Don't decry the pain of sciatica. At the end of the day, pain is pain no matter what the cause and line I said earlier, I too don't think this is cancer pain. Tonight it is both hips. Last night was middle back. Both sets of pain only manifest itself whilst I lie down. I get up and walk about and the hip pain goes - very odd indeed.
