  1. Does anybody know how much wider the UK caliper is than the J-Spec off the top of their head? I have both (UK in a box, jap on the car), but wondered if i could find out without taking my wheel off.

    S1 PRA spotted

    I spotted the reg plate S1 PRA today, on a bloody BMW! What a waste.
  3. Fitted an oil pressure sensor today and wondered if it is reading right. It is a defi gauge which is x 100KPa. On start up it is around 7 and once the car has run a while will drop to about 2ish. Is this right? I pressume it gets lees due to the oil warming, becoming thinner and needing less pressure to pump it round?!
  4. I think i will need around 10-12mm. Not totally sure as it was a bit difficult to get an accurate measurement while balancing the wheel. Do you know where to get some similar?
  5. I spent all day removing my j-spec brakes to fit UK's. When i finally offered the wheel up to the UK (before fitting thank god) the spokes caught the caliper. Does anyone have or know where i can get hold of some spacers and longer studs? I know its not ideal but i cant afford new wheels at the minute.

  7. Currently trying to change my J-SPec front brakes with UK's but hit a snag. Has anyone got any tips for undoing the two retaining bolts on the back of the caliper? I have tried but cant free them up.
  8. Already checked that mate, it is a stock ECU. I am tempted to change to a mines if can get one but going to try sorting my fuel cut out first. I wouldn't need it if had mines though but might as well use what i have got.
  9. You need one for when the radiator gets hot and the water overflows. Also good to see the state of the coolant too.
  10. Got fed up of not being able see my coolant level so fitted a new expansion tank where the factory one used to sit (factory one was moved under front light when my FMIC was fitted).

  12. Yeah, was impressed with the price more than anything. If only i could afford to try it i could be tempted. Will save to start saving my pennies i think. Can anybody tell, or know, what size turbo that is?

  14. Todays update is: Just booted it onto the motorway, was watching the boost get higher and higher until it hit 1.4 bar, then i shit out and backed off. On the way home, i THINK i was doin about a 110 accelerating quite hard when the fuel cut kicked in!!!!!! I was'nt watching the gauge at the time but dont think i was at 1.4 bar so maybe it is spiking and dropping but i am shitting it when i see 1.4 and back off.
  15. I don't have a AFC mate. The 1.34 bar is the peak that has been recorded by the gauge as i tend to keep my eyes on the road on full boost The spiking might explain it a bit better, i will try and keep my eyes on the gauge tomorrow morning on the way to work (traffic allowing).   17. Its the fuel cut that is confusing me too. When had first cat in i was hitting it at 1.25 bar on the gauge, now without cats it aint cutting in at all??
  18. yeah pretty sure it is right. Only been getting about 0.7 bar on first turbo only because a pipe blew off the EGCV last week. 0.7 lines up with what i should be getting when had the problem so presume the gauge is right.
  19. I think if i, for some unknown reason, got rid of the soop, i could be very tempted by one of these. Love the idea of modding one.
  20. I have uprated my plugs (HKS) and at the minute have no FCD wired in (did have one but took it out for a bit and when tried to wire it in again it is giving me trouble, so not in at the mo). The turbos were rebuild (to standard spec i presume) about 2 years ago. No miss firing that i can tell and still with the standard pump (although i admit i have not checked to see if it has been upgraded before me). I am planning to upgrade my pump and get a FPR at some point but want to make sure it is going to be ok first with regards to boosting, can't afford another blow up.
  21. Saab's generally have the elder gentleman driving them but just lately i have started to really like the 9-3 Aero (or Aero convertible). Is it me getting old or has anyone else noticed that these look really nice cars? Not test drove one but wouldn't mind. Not that i could afford one. Anyone on here got one? If so what do you think of them?
  22. Finally found which pipe had popped off stopping the second turbo kicking in and took it out for a thrash. I now have no cats and a restrictor ring but managed to achieve 1.34 bar with no fuel cut kicking in at all. When i had just my first cat in i was hitting fuel cut at 1.25 bar. Is this expected? Bit worried that i am getting over 1.3bar at the minute.
  23. did my first pipe on saturday with car on axle stands. Ball ache to do on your back but with a bit of effort they came off with no problem. Oh and deffinatly not oval.
