Thank you for the invaluable information guys. May I push this further by asking for the part number of the screws and bolts I need to install the side pods? It is a little difficult to figure out from the diagrams, or are these screws and bolts easy to find so I would not need these Toyota ones? thanks again

Great, thanks for confirming (had a typo in my msg above), I will order a few. I just need 2 I assume? Is this part used anywhere else? Maybe get a few more as spare ! Thanks

Thanks so much, is the part number 90467-05053 ?

Thanks so much. I doubt I can order these from Toyota, any suggestion where I could source these please ?

This can’t be normal, could someone tell me what is wrong please

Am I missing any bit of fitting clips or things to stop the pads from moving ? I obviously am not an expert, but looking at the callipers and the pads, am I actually missing something ? Well, I would have thought the mechanic would have known better. I just check Mtec site, I did buy the correct parts and I assumed they sent me the right parts. I bought the pads and shim kits. Anything else I need to fit the pads? -

Thanks Rider, unlikely the pads were fitted incorrectly. Disappointing if Mtec sent me the wrong pads, as I bought the uk spec discs and brake pads from them. Will need to call tomorrow and check. I had a look on the other sides as well, looks like the pads were all a bit “loose”, so unlikely the mechanic fitted all incorrectly. -
Hi guys, need some help to understand what is wrong with the brake. I just had the UK spec brake callipers and discs installed on my supra. it is making some knocking noise as the wheel turns, I took of the wheel to find that the pads are actually moving as the wheel turns !! wrong size of pads ? Or issue with installation ? video attached

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1996-Toyota-Supra-2JZ-GTE-6-speed-manual-single-turbo-LHD-left-hand-drive-/324944775504?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286&mkrid=710-127635-2958-0 Ok, it is a left hand drive, but at 35k, but a TT6 at this price would have been snatched up so quickly...

Hello, could someone recommend any place for pre purchase inspection near Birmingham? The car is SORN and no MOT, so would need someone to go and check out the car. Thanks for any advice in advance.

Hi guys, i need some advice please. my UK spec Supra just passed its MOT, but had few minor suspension items that I want replacing both Front upper suspension arms plus ball joint, OS/F lower ball joint and NS/F track tod end. Where is the best place to go to source these parts most cost effectively? My supra is 100% stock and I would like to keep it that way, but I guess after market parts for these suspension components are ok? any advice would be most appreciated.

Thanks for the numbers... maybe I am not too far off then, so it is probably normal to have the engine rev at 3k doing 85mph. i guess this is the same for jdm model as well.
-
Thanks Scooter for the information. I did try what you suggested and gearbox appears to be shifting as expected. So does this mean that I may be looking at diff's issue, how could I check this? I did also try and pull the error code using the diagnostic port, but there was nothing. Thanks for the help.
-
That is what I thought as well... not on overdrive when I was doing 85 mph, but I was able to disengage overdrive and rpm went even higher, which means I was actually on overdrive gear. one thing I could think of was that I went from stock wheels and tyres to 35/19 , which would have caused an issue on odometer reading, but should not have caused this kind of discrepancy. so I am not really sure what exactly is wrong with it, if I am indeed losing a gear?

Thanks for the info snuf. so you have a UK spec 95 Supra auto as well, have you done any modifications? I spoke to SRD about it and was told that it is normal, because it is a 4 speed auto box, it would sit in a higher rpm compared to a manual. at a speed of 85mph, what is your engine rpm reading ? Thanks Slay

Would this work on UK spec Supra? Also, do you know if the capacitors inside the ecu has been replaced? Thanks
-
Thanks for the clarifications. What about the EU spec supra ? Are these different to the UK spec supra as well?
-
Well, the guy trying to sell it to me on eBay told me that... So he just gave me the BS in order to make the sale basically ... In addition, another guy advised that this JDM ECU would work on my supra https://www.ebay.com/itm/264875213944 Would have thought that JDM and UK Spec ECU share the same part number, but someone else suggested that ECU for JDM and UK spec are actually different. Could someone help confirming ?
-
Sorry, just checked. THe one I have is 89661-14660 which I believe is the Pre vvti jspec ecu :/
Actually mine is 1995 which is pre-vvti. So 2 different ECU part numbers for pre vvti auto supra? So one is JDM and the other UK spec ?
-
Thanks, much appreciated. I thought someone mentioned JDM and UK spec not interchangeable ? So I need ECU with part mumbrt 89661-14661 - this is specific to UK spec only ? Would the EU spec have the same ECU? Surely Toyota would not have designed a different ECU just for the UK market ?
-
Whats the part number for this guys? I may have one on the shelf
Part number is 89661-x46xx, can't really read it out. Could someone provide the part number? Photo of my ECU attached
