  1. Nope, Toyota haven't touched it.....got the cambelt changed when I bought it (about a year ago) though, by an independant garage.
  2. Right, cheers - looks like the level is just under the HOT sign - doh!
  3. Squeaky when I turn either way, even when the engine is fully warmed up. My first thought is power steering fluid - and the cap rather handily says "Fill to correct level" - which is what?
  4. Brad's got plenty of silicon around nowadays
  5. I take mine to a garage that has an ex-Lexus engineer, I'd personally recommend taking it to a Lexus dealership if you can, Toyota mechanics aren't exactly au fait...
  6. Has it just started doing it? My clutch / box is rattly and clunky from cold sometimes - and that's the 5-speed NA, not the 6-speed TT manual - I'm guessing maybe it's a Supra-wide known ailment?
  7. Ahem I think 25 brake is a bit optimistic - is your mate American? OptiMax IS Shell's petrol for high performance motors.....
  8. Yeah, and with OptiMax you're guaranteed the same quality fuel no matter where you go:- With my other car, I find that (on the whole) a *large supermarket chain*'s petrol is absolutely DREADFUL (premium unleaded, the difference was noticeable yet the RON was the same (on the pumps anyway!)) compared to, say, Shell normal unleaded.... Not all unleaded is the same....
  9. Yeah there was 2 silvers. If you can wait till this evening I'll have a squizz at my chassis plate (mine is Alpine silver - the most popular silver I think).
  10. I've got a better idea, Brad - take the spoiler off - weight saving!
  11. No problem, I've found out where the diagnostic cap is for the NA - it's right near the bonnet pop (how useful!). Other owners, take a squiz at this (the NA's diagnostic cap is marked DLC2) http://supra400hptt.homestead.com/files/air_bag.jpg And people say I'm not technical......tch!
  12. Before I sell me motor, I should reset my airbag light, some prick has clearly taken the dash off with the ignition on. HOWEVER The diagram and instructions on mkiv.com suggest a diagnosis cap under the bonnet near the cockpit - yet I can't find one on my NA..... Anyone done this procedure on an NA?
  13. Yep - I broke the locking wheelnut, too! And now I laugh about it.
  14. It's a lump of metal. Break it. Break Stuff. And then laugh about it.
  15. Take the front of the stereo off too, for valuable weight-saving
  16. I can only read a few words in Kanji. It would be so sweet to learn Japanese properly....do know Mandarin, a little, but not to write it (if you get my meaning).
  17. Check it out (obviously) a few days after filling it up with the CORRECT viscosity fluid too. I had a leaky power steering fluid reservoir on a car I owned once, and could have been saved the (eventual) expense had I diagnosed the problem quicker.
  18. Yeah, mine squeak in the wet, no matter of the amount of pad left...
  19. The Hiper on an NA sounds AWESOME.....even better than on a TT. I would DEFINITELY go for that.....even with cats in, it sounds the business.
  20. Also would be useful for Mr. Jefford's back brake light I believe
  21. You want to get that down to Toyota pronto mate.....seems that a couple of the pipes are cut in half, and some of it looks like a drawing.....
  22. You're all (i) 's. I knew how hot a cat got, and nobody else did. Not even the 'experts'. I know how many cylinders my car has got, and how many spark plugs. I can't find a left-handed screwdriver anywhere though. It's a big issue for us sinister types.
  23. Interesting one, innit? I was running around 26ish psi on the back tyres, and they were wearing pretty evenly.... Tyre walls don't say what psi they need - neither does the spare, my grasp of kanji is pretty limited, and the Japanese use numbers anyway. And NOBODY stocks Dunlop Formula's in this country, so I had to bung on a slightly different tyre (still a Dunlop, similar tread pattern)
  24. The ITR may one day feature in my garage yet......I'm quite impressed with the looks and purported performance of the Civic Type-R too
