  1. You need to remove the clockspring entirely, no longer needed! Nrg are designed for US cars which have a different clock spring as far as I am aware
  2. Thats a good point! I am tempted to be loyal to my Nissan roots (for once) and buy an old Silvia and go drifting for a while..
  3. Yeah its a difficult choice. I did say if i went back i'd buy myself an R34 GTR over there. Would be cool just to take the Supra back to where it belongs though. I will based in Atsugi, not too far from Tokyo/Yokohama so i usually spend a lot of time on Wangan and around Daikoku when I'm over there!
  4. I'm stuck with a choice here guys... It is looking very likely i will be moving back to Japan in the near future for an initial 12 months... the problem is... do i take my Supra back to Japan or do I purchase something else while over there, leaving the Supra here for when i return?? Any suggestions if i go with option 2?? I have my own thoughts
  5. Hey, i have a brand new hub i bought from Whifbitz before deciding to go NRG route. Opened box only, never fitted. Same as at the following link: http://www.garagewhifbitz.co.uk/toyota/supra/steering-wheels/garage-whifbitz-1540.html Yours for 50gbp plus postage if you are interested. PM me if you like. David
  6. Looks great! One of the more creative guys in work does paintings of peoples 'interesting' cars and did this of mine:
  7. No idea how much they are worth to be honest. Has roughly 100k miles on it. 60 quid seem fair? Not sure on the postage - you know how heavy they are.
  8. Hi Guys, Understand everyone is after these... hence why they seem so difficult to find! Need RR UK Spec brake calipers to match my fronts and allow me to use my CW pads at the track this year. Dont mind aesthetic condition provided they work ok. David
  9. If you need more in addition to Sheefa's i have mine lying round since Darren put in the OS Giken Paul
  10. No French collaboration on the Z33, or Z34 / R35 for that matter. Unless you count some small carry over components (lamps and such)
  11. Are you talking entirely stock R34 vs BPU?? I've been asked my opinion on this a number of times since driving a stock (and perfectly maintained) R34 round Japan last October... I always sum this up as: - 2JZ GTE > RB26DETT (stock RB26DETT felt slow in comparison to my BPU TT6 - and the BPU equivalent RB26DETT R32 I drove round Fuji Speedway didn't have the torque, but better response... personal choice I guess there) - R34 handling > Supra handling - Interior design / Quality is WAY better in the Supra - another league - Styling - personal choice - Engine / Exhaust note - personal choice - I love the sound of a 2JZ, but a properly tuned RB26 at full chat is a special sound For me, you can tell the Skyline was more of a sports car when it rolled of the production line than the Supra - although a Supra can be pulled to the same level with ease (and most have done so). As with any of the Jap 'tuner' cars, you can modify to such an extent all of the above goes out of the window. I am just trying to give my personal assessment based on experience of BPU TT6 vs stock R34 GTR and 400+BHP R32 GTR. I wouldn't sell the Supra for one, but maybe on my next stint in Japan I will bring an R34 back to sit next to it.
  12. Luckily my UK specs are in very good condition for now... came off a low mileage car in japan, but admittedly supposed to have been used fairly hard. Chris has told me about his stainless steel rebuild kits for the UK specs so will be ordering them when the time comes
  13. That is a major design flaw on a safety critical part if you ask me. If there is one thing toyota got wrong in the 90s its these j spec calipers. They seize so easily, ive seen them fracture around the pads on the rears and now this.... Any common failures i should watch out for on the uk specs?
  14. As the title says really.... Decided to flush out the brake fluid and replace with some new stuff today (my all out comp spec brakes are waiting for next year) to get rid of what seemed like fluid boil at the last track day. Afterall, the j specs with the pads and discs im using were fine and the front tyres were the limiting factor for now... Well the fluid change wouldnt bleed properly... I found the front left caliper had a huge fracture around the bleed nipple! And i mean it is hanging on by around a quarter of its circumference. Good job i brought those uk specs back from Japan!
  15. Full circuit too.... I am oh so tempted.....
  16. Sounds very reasonable and my most local track (when I am back home in Liverpool). I dont have plans at the moment but may look to bring the supra along now!
  17. Good job I have some normal pads still sat around for the uk brakes on the road then! I have the standard discs too which I will use for now, but I am interested in the race pads for the track provided I dont spend a fortune on any repairs next week... How much for a set for the fronts? Or better to email?
  18. Thanks for the suggestion! I'll look at adopting that wuh the brake change then. Recommendations on pads/discs? I need them to be good enough for road use too and preferably as quiet as possible...
  19. It had a little brake fade (as in pads) but coming to this kink 3 laps in the pedal would drop to the floor exactly as you say. I then proceeded to go straight across the chicane than around it
  20. Might be a little nose heavy then... and the s14 has great front grip as it sits, but at least you would have some power to play with!
  21. Sr20DETT? if so go for it! I have always preferred the s13 (known as ps13 over here) but with this new kit released I am changig my mind! By all rights I should buy one myself working for nissan hehe
  22. Awesome kit.. makes me want an s14 just for this
  23. I have to say it surprised me how (I wont say nimble..) manouverable the supra was around there. And getting to 6k rpm in 4th down the back straight before the chicane was pretty good. At this point hitting the brakes at maybe 120mph cooked the brake fluid after 2 or 3 laps. I think its time to get my uk brakes on there and a change of fluid.. cant wait to get it to a real circuit
  24. That must have cost you a fortune in oil! sorry, dont want you to add the cost of that to the turbos.... oops
