  1. Might be a gamble, but my gut says we're nearing the bottom and I've just moved a few grand back into Ethereum.
  2. Nobody knows what's going to happen with bitcoin. Timing is everything in the crypto market and it's always a gamble.
  3. I've had an MOT done less than an hour after putting new pads and discs on and there were no issues whatsoever.
  4. What would be a very nice surprise would be some ridiculous sequential turbo set up on the BMW engine.
  5. Look up what happened with "confido" and then see if this doesn't seem like the same kind of scam.
  6. I'm not sure what the ratios are for the M4, I'll see what I can find and plug the numbers in.
  7. I don't care what's been said, that is bollocks. It will be the lock that is electronically controlled. Unless Toyota have introduced something that functions like a CVT, a variable gear ratio is useless. What is very useful is being able to independently vary the wheel lock for inside and outside, which I guarantee you this diff is doing.
  8. Again, just want to stress I do not think this has an electronically variable diff ratio. It is the lock settings that are controlled. There is no point in a variable ratio unless you want to multiply the number of gears in the gearbox.
  9. Syvecs are the problem which led to SRD moving to a MOTEC on the IS-F. They don't allow custom firmware, so someone at Syvecs has to program the gearbox for you, and only if they want to. You need an ECU with an open protocol.
  10. Have you driven something with a decent paddle shift? And by that I mean properly thrashed it round some corners?
  11. Am I the only one who does not give a shit that there isn't a manual option? An 8 speed auto will outperform a 6 speed manual in every instance.
  12. Jag I believe. I'll share the details once I've got a bit further down the rabbit hole. It's an 8HP75, so stronger than the one in the new Supra.
  13. Wasn't whifbitz selling off an upgraded twin kit that keeps the sequential set up recently? It was absolute peanuts.
  14. It wouldn't surprise me if the ring and pinion from other Toyota group cars would fit.
  15. The ZF8hp is used in just about everything at the moment. Just to give you some idea as to why the 8 speed is a vastly better choice than the 7 speed DCT, here is the speed to gear spread on a few options: M3 DCT with Whifbitz custom diff vs NA6 diff and ZF8hp M3 DCT with Whifbitz custom diff vs TT6 diff and ZF8hp M3 DCT with Whifbitz custom diff vs NA6 diff and IS-F gearbox More aggressive through the gears and a higher top speed/lower cruising RPM. Not only will it be faster, it won't cost you so much petrol on a motorway run.
  16. There are other options, I'm in touch with someone about a ZF8hp swap, using a controller that is already working and has been used to turn 6 speed Aston Martin autos into 8 speeds.
  17. See, I have been driving Lexuseseses for 8 years and the Toyota reliability is still a factor for me. I've abused the hell out of every single one and they have never skipped a beat. I've seen A LOT of modern Mercs at the side of the M1/M25. You're right though, there isn't anything that really separates this from the Z4, other than being a hard top with Toyota styling. I would much rather have waited another few years for something with a Toyota powerplant and a lot more of the FT-1.
  18. No, I'm saying it doesn't have the Toyota running gear, so that element of the buyer confidence is gone. Considering how large a part of the Toyota brand that is, it negatively impacts the MKV value at this stage. It's one less thing to separate it from the competition.
  19. It's also just occurred to me that one of the other factors of buying a MKIV was the supercar performance, in combo with Toyota reliability. Now we have neither.
  20. The lack of the active spoiler from the FT-1 is a huge let down to be honest. I'm not hugely concerned about the engine being a BMW, but what I am concerned about is the fact that everything except the top spec is going to be a 4 cylinder. The Supra is supposed to be Toyota's halo car and we've got the range options from a 3 series. It had better be running BMW engine management, or nobody will be able to retune it from the factory, which gives a significant advantage to the Z4. Everything about the new Supra says "built to a tight budget" rather than "let's blow the competition out of the water". The handling may well be great, but if you're still going to get smoked by someone with a chipped 330d when you're on a dual carriageway, what's the point?
  21. The hardtop will be lighter and more rigid though, so at least that's a bonus.
  22. Anyone who puts a 2J in this chassis is beyond retarded and should be openly mocked for their idiocy.
