huh - speak for yourself !! ashley - your point about EGT's temps, could it be due to the fact that the fmic flow is blocking the rad and that somehow in turn isn't causing the expected drop in temps ? or is this total bollox ? mine were running at 920 deg b4 the blowout. apparently this is a little high ? my sensor is pre-turbo ... paul - an EGT gauge sooner rather than later isn't a bad idea especially if you want to turn the wick up more ......

not a techie but ....... paul - i suspect what ashley said is quite true, having heard it myself from several different sources that are in the know. 50bhp is quite a number to be honest and aside from the safety/stability issue - doubt that claim. my 2p at any rate ... i think it allows you to up boost within a safety margin (your point about cooler and denser air) and hence achieve more power. it isn't directly attributable to just installing the fmic. willis - since when did you become such a tech-head ? you almost sound like you know what you're talking about .........PMSL now there's a scary thought ! LOL ....

bleed it and see if that cures it - if not (and i suspect not as well), then it's something else that DOES kinda sound like either unbalanced/mislaigned wheels or that damn pesky rotor.

steve - just to add, i tightened up all the nuts and bolts that you suggested and it seems to have cured most of the sounds but not all. i guess i got squeaks n rattles more than most

i DID change the rubbers but decided on bit of overkill and so covered those up

paul - your concern and excellent advice is much appreciated. if it comes to that - i haven't totally gone off the re-furb idea YET ! eyefi/matt - thanks so much. so gotta remember seals, gaskets, oil feed pipes and to remember to prime them. matt - i take your point re the fasteners and nuts/bolts. will PM you if i need the gaskets n seals from ya. thanks. (manifold already drilled for EGT)

hi guys - just after a bit of advice. when replacing blown turbos, is there anything else that needs doing at the same time ie. seals etc or is there anything that is recommended that should be done to ensure longevity, reliability etc etc. all your thoughts are appreciated. TIA ....
