  1. Thanks for that. I need a shroud, but I dont need the outlet that goes to the standard airbox. Do the TT ones have this? Or do they all have it and require modification to delete the intake part?
  2. Can anyone tell me whether the TT shroud fits on the NA radiator please? Cheers.
  3. I so wish that I had the patience to do a build like this. It looks awesome.
  4. Cars that are plainly modified for serious track use will be judged on their own merits. Ie harnesses, seat mounting points, airbag removal etc etc. This wont mean that they are excused from the Cat regs etc tho, high flow cats must be present if the car is of the age that a cat deletion is illegal. This is just as I understand it and there are many other regs etc involved.
  5. *Heads to Ebay for some fabric dye* Cheers....
  6. That scratch looks like it is down to metal and the metal has begun to corrode. Am I right? If you simply paint over the oxidisation, it will continue to react and bubble under the new paint and also under the original layers and become even more unsightly. The only way to sort it now is to take it back to metal, prime it properly and then paint it, silver is a nightmare to match though so you might be better off doing the full panel, even the whole side of the car due to colour matching on silvers being nigh on impossible. Whatever you decide, good luck with it though mate.
  7. Would they fall into the 'entertaining in the wet' category then? haha
  8. What about these? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/255-40-17-ZR-Uniroyal-Rallye-RTT-2-one-pair-tyres-/260990353345?pt=UK_Cars_Tyres_RL&hash=item3cc43cbfc1#ht_730wt_1185 I know these are Ebay tyres, but they're new ones.
  9. These are much better than Falkens. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/new-255-40-17-kumho-v70a-rally-tyres-racing-tyres-trackday-tyres-circuit-tyres-/270946593675?pt=UK_Cars_Tyres_RL&hash=item3f15aceb8b#ht_500wt_1202
  10. Hahaha, I can well believe it. There are similar suppliers up this way, I guess if you dont know the ones to trust then you cant trust any of them then!
  11. Laws concerning the sale of part worn tyres are far more stringent than those concerning new ones. The tyres can't be older than 3 yrs old, they're usually tested to 50 p.s.i and you can often get a good make for a lot less than a budget tyre. I trust my local part worn supplier 100%, but then I have used him for 8 years or so and buy more than the average punter does to running 4 cars. Its horses for courses I suppose though. Some people just feel better buying new, esp for higher performance applications. I dont have anything with more than 200bhp...
  12. I went from 275/40 to 255/45 and the tyre height isnt far off, 20mm in the width doesn't sound a lot but I noticed it. The previous owner must have preferred the wider stance with the 275's. If he bought them as part worn he probably payed about £120 for the pair.
  13. I'm confused, you mentioned that you couldn't afford to run a turbo but now the car's getting turbo'd? Nice car BTW.
  14. Part worn FTW I say, but get them from a local supplier. I don't trust Ebay tyres...
  15. Nice looking car...red is definately the colour to have them in. What dye and what method of applying it did you use? I want to do mine as well.
  16. Yeah it's a Vauxhall and the kit amounts to around 100kg of GRP, but it's cool. Esp if its been built on a 16v GTE.
  17. I put my mind down on Thursday and haven't seen it since......
  18. I'd take the calipers off, free up and copperslip the pistons and fit new pads. This should ensure even pad wear and will clean your discs up under normal driving within a week or so. You could go the full monty and fit new discs as well. You would have extra peace of mind etc, but expect the slight corrosion next time the car is sstored for a lobg period of time. The only way to avoid this is to have a dry garage with the air circulating around it.
  19. Well worth my £10 membership fee, great people, great cars and all the advice I have been given so far has been spot on. I'm having a bit of a moment.....group hug???

I have had an intermittent issue with my temp gauge, I was looking for the sender and have found the single pin connector for the sender (white plug, blue/yellow wire) hanging about under the inlet manifold not connected to anything. I must have dislodged it and now cant see where it goes back to. cAN ANYONE ADVISE THE EXACT LOCATION OR GIVE ME A IC OF WHERE TO FIND THE SENDER UNIT??? tHANKS IN ADVANCE.
