100% agree with this, exact same thing happened with me. The cover allows small movement when its windy even when strapped down fully and rubs on the wings and roof, they will buff out with a light polish H well mine did any way. I would go for a carcoon or nothing at all.

Import laws on the continent are much more strict than they are here. After speaking to a guy living in France and doing a bit of reading everything needs to be e marked. Even if the Japanese part is exactly the same it won't pass unless it has the relevant european safety stamp. Not 100% sure on this but I believe the UK setup was slightly different so it met emission standards. -
I believe the manuals were slightly more expensive and they cut the sale price due to not being able to shift existing stock. I'll see if I can find the email / letters from the Toyota customer service manager.

I put the number still in the UK at 82 manuals and 204 autos as of 1st Jan 2012

They were 45k 18 years ago which is a lot of money for a Toyota.

I bet it's the same reason as the US. Safety tests and emmisions.
