  1. well i know that 2k isn't exactly expensive and clutches can go way over this for something to take the power and do more that 1000miles before rebuild but kinda thought that i could sort something out for about 1600 quid! i know that you can't ask the power and then go "but for a few quid!" and get the halfords spanners out. lol! it's just like most people not having my car working even though i can't use it right now is not a nice thought, the plan was to get most of the work i want carried out by next summer and theres a lot to be done by then, going from 600-800 hp is a huge jump and isn't a weekend thing! My mate said he looked around and thinks its a HKS gd pro triple! are they good will it cope with obscene power and last if it is and i rebuild it??
  2. thanks for the advice and i have looked at the site and am impressed by the clutch but!!..and i know this is going to seem stupid to say but i think over 2 grand british for a clutch is a bit steep. if i have no other recomendations then i'll just have to bite the bullet and go for it. i only say this as i'm really after a hypertune plenum before christmas not to mention two new tyres and my tien rear coilovers rebuilt, this does'nt leave much in the current bank roll to pay the labour costs of the full polly bush upgrade thats in discusion at the moment! suppose never thought this would be cheap so we'll see!! anybody else got some idea's??
  3. you will have to bear with me as i explain my life story on this one so here goes!....i have purchased a toyota supra at the end of summer and have been enjoying getting back to a turbo car more than expected! This has lead to some issues as if you abuse something often enough then something will give and sure enough it has,This brings me to the purpose of the thread, my car is a 93 rz twin tubby converted by the last owner to a single and in current form has i think about 550hp on low boost and 612hp on high. the problem is that the clutch has decided that high boost is not an option and even on low it isn't very keen. When i bought the car i was given a bundle of reciepts to go with it... actualy almost all of them since import in december 05! the reciepts that i have show that the car was fitted with an o.s giken ts3b clutch!...fine i priced a rebuild kit for this clutch but its not cheap so i thought to check it is what it said it is to find a big ass HKS sign and no part number! all i know is it is a triple and it is a wierd setup but as i can't identify the clutch i was wondering if there are any good options for a total replacement?? i'm hopping to get the car up to about 800hp in the near futer so its fine to over shoot the power it has right now. The car will be used on the road and all the clutch's that even state the power rating and not the clamping force also say "not for road use" as in to harsh to use without leaving big black lines where you just came from! does any body have any suggestions as to what i can get??
  4. not trying to hijack the thread but i run AEM management are they prone to failure?...Think my erse just collapsed when i read that! [sHOCK][/sHOCK] I'm gutted for you lad i try'd calling about this car with no luck but apparently if i got it i'd still have no luck right!
  5. just checked jamiep's car spec... I like that! think I might have to speak to this srd company. I read that its a guy who does this kind of tuning for a laugh! seems capable of some impresive stuff. Thanks Jurgen i'm in the process of deciding the best course of action and once again your showing the care and attention that got you your reputation and deserved to! I might contact you for some help and guidance in the near future. whats the score with getting stuff from phr and titan motorsport is there any problems with import fees or taxes? is it easyier to get stuff from japan?
  6. have to agree HateEvent doen't see enough big singles going about not with the fuel costs:( but it's worth it ! you realy can't pick your nose in these things coz when it comes on boost every body turns to see whats comin, although you can't just hit boost when you want you have to plan ahead a bit. Whats the screw mod that dude is refering to for the oil pump??
  7. I've been on phr's web site and seen they do an uprated oil pump but what screw mod are you refering to dude? also if the engine needs this kind of work then i'm going to upgrade some parts! there was the hypertune plenum, power steering relocation and the breather kit was also considerd! the work on the seal will be done by me and a friend ( he's a mechanic and i'm a diesel fitter) but the horror story's keep putting me of doing just the seal. The other problem is that i can't find proof of the crank, valve springs, prop, drive shafts or diff being uprated so the power can't be lifted until i change the lot so that i know that it'll take the power hike!
  8. yes the car is going in to the shop for some inspection soon but if the engine has to come out or the sub frame has to come out then i'm going to upgrade some parts seen as i'm at it! The car was sourced from jm imports and i have to say top guy! done every thing it said on the tin and more. Hopefully all will be well in the end but it's just not a chance i'm willing to take, Heres some photo's of the car at jurgen's!...Enjoy
  9. Well I've owned a supra for almost two weeks now and have to say nice car, Quick at 612bhp and handles well with the coilovers and Ap6 pots up front but you still have to remember that it is still a big heavy car in the corners. I've also discovered the grim side of ownership in that the crank shaft main seal is showing signs of leaking wich according to some members on here is caused by oil pump wear leading to catastrophic engine failure! I've dropped my CBR 1000RR in for a service so that I can sell it to fund the repairs and upgrades to rectify the issue but its been laid up for three days now and i'm gutted that i'll miss the last of the usable weather before winter sets in, The car does look pretty though i've been cleaning the nuts off it seen as I can"t risk driving it! looks good:rolleyes: shame it doesn't move! I'll keep posting stuff as and when it happens but my bike won't sell that quick even though it is crackin aswell!
