Phahahahaha, sorry but that's just plain funny.

I didn't get that much attention towards the old silver N/A I had, or when I did people (not in the know) assumed it was a turbo so if anything were disappointed when they found out it wasn't. However when I drive the black aero V8 about, it's a different story..... at about 2500revs in 2nd doing about 30 in a built up area, the noise is something else, people who are walking and ahead of me turn around and just stare as to what's under the bonnet, in utter disbelief..... this itself puts a smile on my face. I think that because of the noise of the black one, it gets almost as much attention as my old GTR got

I'm pretty sure the Brembos on an Evo and/or Subaru will fit - My mate fitted some Brembos from a Scooby to his Evo4 easy enough

or have you recently replaced one of the CATs with a de-cat pipe? Think the front one has a sensor to check air temp (or something) I had it on my old N/A when I put a fron de-cat pipe on..... I ignored it

I have always stated all mods when insuring any car, as previously said honesty is the best policy. If this guy is broadcasting to the world he is cutting corners which effectively wipes his insurance as void and hoping we accept him as a messiah of conning insurance companies..... swivel mate. People like you are reasons why insurance is what it is. And you're doing this to save yourself anything between £10-30 per month. Not worth it....

Hi everyone, Well I've decided to fix up the Supra before selling it again, and as it's being fixed I'll also be driving it (if we have ANY decent summer) and wanted to know best place to get some temporary cover. Say, 3 months tops? I wasn't sure if there was a specific type of cover I could go for, or do I just do a 12 month plan for 3 months and cancel? Feedback welcomed!

Glad this thread popped up I've been looking at a few things for the car now it's pretty much not for sale..... Saw them on Fleebay and they looked a great deal compared with TEIN's at nearly double the price!!

Reason I got a Supra was because I had to sell my GTR, I changed jobs at the time and couldn't justify the spend to keep it going, always liked the Supra (F&F probably helped) but IMO it's one of those cars that doesn't really age...... and the thought I could learn to drive a RWD properly without all the gadgets a GTR had on it to make you look good haha

One of my personal favs on here is that. Looks pretty much perfect!!!

Hi guys, apologies I haven't been on in a while..... the car is still for sale and will be sorn as the tax has now expired. The supra itself is close to 100kmiles and the engine about 20k less although Pete at THOR advised there was an issue with the speedo adding a mile every second for a bit which notched up about 3k miles. Not sure if that was rectified or not. I will advise now that there is a mapping issue with the car, over 3k revs when changing gear it waits until the revs dip down to 3k then kicks in. There's no other hesitation or weirdness, so pretty sure a tweak on a RR at THOR or similar to reset the fault code would sort it. Because of this I'm pricing the car at £6300 unless otherwise stated. p.s: if you're under 25 please bear in mind the insurance won't be cheap!!!! PM me for any further questions -

I spoke to Thor and they advised it was a Celica clutch, single plate. The clutch itself is fine, just on the highish biting side. The thrust bearing makes a noise but I'd bet my right arm it would get you to Scotland no worries. I just mentioned that as if you do get just a thrust bearing to replace, might aswell do the plate also. -

Insurance isn't too bad TBH, with A-Plan, fully comp, protected NCB and 9 years no claims, I was paying about £750 a year Gaz - I think you should deal with the crisis and buy it.... I'm sure it would make you feel better -

Cheers Josh.... she is a great car, and with the exhaust on full beans does make a great sound!! Also the car comes with glass headlights, not plastic ones!! -
So, as some of you may know/remember I bought the above car from JamieP last August and did have some plans to turn it into a bit of a beast, however now my job has changed I'm needed to have a car to drive to work so have had to take the decision to let this go. Since I bought it, I reckon I've done no more than about 600 miles. Spec list is the same as before, and is as follows: Engine Specifications: 1UZ-FE 4.0L V8 315BHP, 355lbs of torque Large PWR Aluminium radiator with Twin SPAL electric fans Fuel, Tuning & ECU: Link G2 ECU Exhaust: 3" stainless exhaust Drivetrain: R154 5 Speed Box TT6 big case LSD THOR R154 to 1UZ-FE gearbox adaption kit (upgraded model) Bespoke single piece propshaft (made by Dave-MAC propshafts, nuneaton) LSD Suspension, Wheels, Tires & Brakes: Rota SVN's copy of the Rays RE30 Full SUPER PRO polyeurethane bushes throughout KYB Adjustable Shocks Eibach Lowering Springs UK Brakes Front And Rear Interior & ICE: Thor Stainless steel dials on dash and blue LED dash light conversion Full black leather interior Double DIN head unit I have a pretty thick amount of paperwork that comes with the car detailing it's history Here are some pics of her nice and clean in the sun: In the main, it's a great car to drive.... has started for me every time, first time, never let me down, no leaks but there are one or 2 things I need to tell you about: 1 - slight kerb on back right wheel 2 - does need new roof seals (from Toyota, brand new they are £380 inc VAT) (this is where the top of the window meets the roof, think it's a 2 or 3 peice kit from back of the door area, all the way up and along down to the front of the door by the wing mirror) It does drip on your arm a bit when it's raining. 3 - either a new clutch, or just a new clutch plate and thrust bearing - (clutch plate from THOR is about £100) The clutch itself is a single plate clutch from a Toyota Celica - THOR can give you the model number need if you wanted to replace like for like. I was planning on doing the above myself and selling for the same as what I bought it from JamieP, but I do need to get rid, and if the new buyer wanted to add a super charger or twin turbo setup to it, then you'd need a better clutch anyway The price for the above is £6800 OVNO At present the car is NOT advertised elsewhere as I'd love to see it stay in the club, any enquiries please PM me and I'll get back to you ASAP. Car is located in Bristol

I didn't get any problems with A Plan for getting a quote and insuring my V8 Sup..... infact it's only £150 a year more than my N/A
-
She's came up quite nice mate, would be nice to see it with a decent engine and different wheels on... Do it!
-
Yea I got my insurance with A Plan. I told them every mod aswell and they were fine. And it works out £150 a year more. Quite pleased with the insurance. I do have a few plans for the car, maybe some oem skirts/spats, c/f boot and bonnet, spolierless, c/f splitter but that would probably be it for a while. Might look into putting some furnish on but no rush for that atall, she sounds amazing as she is so I'm happy on the performance front for the time being. Thanks for your kinds comments though guys, I'll post updates up of any progress I make with the car.

Well, I've finally managed to get the type of Supra I was after. I changed my 3.0l n/a for JamieP's V8 1UZ. Went and collected the car today and can say I'm over the moon with her, a great drive back. Spec list as follows: Engine Specifications: 1UZ-FE 4.0L V8 315BHP, 355lbs of torque Large PWR Aluminium radiator with Twin SPAL electric fans Fuel, Tuning & ECU: Link G2 ECU Exhaust: 3" stainless exhaust Drivetrain: R154 5 Speed Box TT6 big case LSD THOR R154 to 1UZ-FE gearbox adaption kit (upgraded model) Bespoke single piece propshaft (made by Dave-MAC propshafts, nuneaton) LSD Suspension, Wheels, Tires & Brakes: Rota SVN's copy of the Rays RE30 Full SUPER PRO polyeurethane bushes throughout KYB Adjustable Shocks Eibach Lowering Springs UK Brakes Front And Rear Interior & ICE: Thor Stainless steel dials on dash and blue LED dash light conversion I've taken some pics on my phone but a friend is pretty nifty with a camera so will post some proper ones up when he's had a chance to take some, but for now, have a look:

This was my old baby...... By far, THE best drive I've ever had, it, IMO, will always win hands down over a RWD. The GTR is predominantly RWD anyway, but when the back wheels spin it put power to the front, so going round a roundabout quick (as example) and giving it beans up a ringroad, is extremely safe and can make you look good (if that's your thing) where as in a RWD, well, we all know the risks...... I've only got an N/A supra now but saving for an engine transplant so cannot give any 0-60/0-100 comparison, but the Supra is so small compared to the GTR, you can fit 2 grown men, 6ft+ easy in the back of a GTR with ample leg room. However a MASSIVE downside of owning a GTR is paying GTR prices..... I miss my old girl..... she'll always be the number 1 in my heart unless I ever got another
