  1. Im after a cheap aftermarket splitter as a project over winter, looking for a cheap one that needs work, cracks/ splits/ damage not a problem, looking to pay up to £60 tops, if no luck here then I'll just save a little longer and get the one I want
  2. Sky's quote was £790. So considerably cheaper. The reason I'm giving them a chance to match the quote is that I won't have to come up with a deposit if i can stay with them, plus my other car is insured with them and It has mirrored no claims
  3. Rang Lynbrook Insurance & Livingston Warman this morning, wow. £567 limited to 5,000 a year! Gonna ring sky tomorrow and see if they'll match it. Admiral quoted me £800, and also tried carol Nash who quotes me £1400! Lol Cheers fOr your help again guys!
  4. Yeah I changed it to just social domestic and pleasure, I'm 27 currently paying £690 but my renewal has come thru at £790 I've managed to get it down to £670, but i was hoping to get it to roughly £500 as I'm only using it one weekend a month now Will do a little ringing about once everyone is back open again!
  5. wanting to reduce the cost of insuring the supra as i have a runabout now, currently with sky and dropping the mileage from 10,000 to 3,000 has only reduced the cost of insurance but £100 I was hoping to drop it down a couple of hundred! Anyone know of companies that offer good discounts for limited mileage? I was considering going for a classic policy?
  6. I'm 99% it's a open diff in mine. I'm sure I checked that when I bought her. I'm sure it does 1's rather than 11's Sounds like some food for thought Thanks again!
  7. I had considered just getting some decent road tires before going r888's or something, see a pal of mine used to do alot of sprint series, and it something I have considered, but I'll see how I go to start with... I'm actually starting to worry about stripping my pretty mint n/a... Also I'm not sure If I should start out on the current suspension or not, as sitting beside other supras it's defineately lower even on the 18's. Is a LSD one of the first ports of call then? I was kinda hoping to start off small next year and just loose some of the weight, 17's, sort the brakes and just have a bit of fun, then go a bit more serious the year after! Also on exhaust systems, I was considering completely decatting her for on track, as I'm running a first decat and it made quite a bit of difference, but even now, it is very loud as it doesn't have the silencers on the stock twin pipes before the backbox... So I'm concerned about not passing the noise regulations.
  8. That's just a starting off list of course!
  9. Thanks for all the input guys! Sounds promising! I can quite believe that it's addictive, however I drove a 350bhp scoob sti which was manic in a straight line, but suffered from the usual impreza understeer, whereas the evo was so agile thru the twisties, so I'd be happy with a similar handling ability! It's my weekend car, so it doesn't have to be too civilised. Ive come up with a list, what do we think? -braided lines^ -5.1 fluid -new discs, I'm not really into drilled and grooved as I've had mixed experiences, so was planning to go for new stock ones? -new pads, suggestions? -17's -stock? -good rubber, any suggestions? As I'll be driving it to the track -exhaust bung (it's pretty loud ) -front strut brace -fast road geometry setup -harnesses -loose install, rear plastics & rear seats -tow hooks
  10. Hi guys, I had my first taste of track action yesterday with a evo and scoob on a driving experience day, and I felt right at home within a few laps in each car (having a Aston and a Lamborghini in the evo over the space of 6 laps ) and it's all I can think about now. I had toyed with the idea of getting a evo instead, but I'd like people's ideas on takingmy n/a on track? It's pretty stock ATM, 18's, blitz nur spec, and a Chris Wilson first decat. It appears to be on stock suspension. I think my first port of call would be to upgrade the brakes somewhat as they seem fine at speed, but lack feel at lower speeds, they also couldn't hold a candle to the brakes on the evo obviously. Is the stock suspension pretty good on track? I will say I'm not super flushed with cash so I'll possibly sort it over time, and would like the most cost effective way to prepare her. Thanks guys Rich.
  11. Sorry to pull up a old thread here... But, I've had a Chris Wilson first decat fitted the the car for a few months now. The car performs much better but it has made the exhaust quite raspy, on closer inspection I've noticed that my 'mid' section (section before the backbox has no boxes... On the pics above one has boxes and one doesn't... Is one a tt exhaust and one the n/a? Also can I just fit a new mid section with the boxes to my system with no hassle? As it's either do that or refit the first cat as it just doesn't sound as nice as I hoped!
  12. Super. That makes sense, I had a quick look an one of the bulbs was loose! I'm actually amazed at how advanced the supra was for its age, a car that was released about 18 years ago and it has bulb failure warning lights? Not even all new cars have that yet! Just goes to show it was advanced for its time!
  13. Well mine is a n/a without t/c. I'll take a pic of it when I can!
  14. Just had a warning light come up on panel just below the adometer showing a car simbol with lines coming out the back of it? Any ideas? Turned the ignition off and on and it hasn't re appeared? I've just had the back bumper resprayed so I'm assuming it had something to do with that?
  15. Jvc avx11 in dash DVD player. With built in 3 inch screen on the facia. Has the capabilty to run 2 extra screens, up to 3 amps and full speed iPod (with the relevant cables) Got this for the mrs but she's on about getting a different car so decided to sell it. Will get pics of the actual unit when I can. Heres what it looks like: http://photos.autoexpress.co.uk/images/front_picture_library_UK/dir_439/car_photo_219608_7.jpg Vgc, everything works, only issue is it didnt come with a remote, but these can be got off ebay for about £10. Unit works fine without it too. used but all ok. These still go for top dollar in good nick! Just want my money back £90
  16. pm me a offer mate. all in all the whole lot owes me 60-70 quid.
  17. this was a ebay jobbie, comes with a pair of 6000k and a pair of 10000k bulbs. been used for about 2 months, taken out as i prefer the stock bulbs look. plus my headlamps are so cloudy that i couldnt see any noticeable difference. tried these in again the other day with the 10,000k and one is not working, im assuming its a bulb gone, but dont have the time to check. so these are sold as seen. both sets of bulbs have been modified to fit j spec headlamps. what you see is what you get. offers.
  18. Need a cheap exhaust bung for my nur spec. 4.5" diameter. Gimme a pm if anyone has one.
  19. What is the fit like on these? What is needed to make the undertray fit to it?
  20. Cheers guys... Glad you like! Where do I submit for the calendar?
  21. Took some night pics of the soup the other week, thought I would share... Also a few pics of my mates Glanza.
