I'm having problems connecting the emanage to the laptop now, any top tips on that mate? My green light is flashing and the orange interaction light is permanently lit (which I know it shouldn't be), I've no idea why. One last question what do you set the rotary switches inside the panel 7,4,0?

Yep bang on, hadn't snapped the the clip down, thanks for the reply mate. All is good again in NA-T world:d Just need to sort the exhaust out now. Craig with the emanage blue set as default (i.e. as it comes out of the box) can you rev the car a bit to see if everything is ok once or twice or is it a no no until it's mapped.

Anyone? This seems such a simple problem but I just can't find anything wrong.

Theres a gray wire that triggers the relay but I've no idea where it goes to. It is linked the the ECU plug as I've checked that and theres no break in the cable but were it goes in-between I've no idea. Has anyone got any ideas why this would all of a sudden have no power going to it, as far as I'm aware I haven't touched this wire. Seems such a simple problem to solve but it's being very illusive at the moment:) This is the relay and the wire comes out to a plug on the side of the fuse box and the gray wire then disappears up under the intake. This is how the wires are. If I put a wire from the black/yellow to the black/red it powers up both ECU's and the engine will fire, although as I say the Rev counter doesn't work for some reason:( Could someone put a test lamp on this (should be ignition Gray) wire and and confirm it's live when the ignitions on for me. As far as I'm aware I have not touched the Gray wire in the build, none of the ECU wires I've spliced or cut go to it unless it changes colour somewhere!!! I have connected into a RPM (red/yellow) and throttle (yellow) signal wires at the ECU though but they are only spliced in.

Can anyone tell me if the top wire (black/red) on this plug is live with the ignition on when it's unplugged (I mean the bit that would still be attached to the fuse box if that makes sense) I've connected everything up and the ecu has no power going to it, so no spark, so no start;) I've checked all the earths and all the plugs and all seems ok. This top black and red wire goes to the ecu's bottom right hand wire on the standard ecu which is supposed to be the power for my emanage but there is no power at this plug, The wire is ok as I've checked it with a meter and had the relays checked today and the fuses are OK. I've also tried another Main Ecu just incase but nothing. Any help?

Thanks for the great comments guy's. I've been doing a lot of work on the car recently, most of it boring stuff not worth taking pictures of but today I went to work and welded my O2 Sensor flanges onto the down pipe and also cut it down. I've only tacked it in position as until I do the exhaust I'm not sure it's right. In place, I had to extend one of the O2 sensors wires as it wasn't long enough. I've also moved the ignition coil as it looks a mess up by the turret. It's not exactly hidden now but is slightly better I think:D I've also finished all the intercooler piping so I couldn't resist slipping the intake on just to see how it will look. I'm hoping to get the radiator on and all fluids in tomorrow:D
  10. Oh right, thats great I'll use one of them then:) I thought it had to be further away than that but if all of you use them thats good enough for me:D
  11. Has anyone got a measurement for the best position from the back of the turbo to the boss? I'm guessing it will be in the decat pipe and not the down pipe from the turbo. I seem to recall 36'' being mentioned but can't remember for sure
  12. I like the idea of the studs mate, I might do that on mine. Engine block looks sweet and I'm definitely interested in the thread if you do get chance to keep it updated. Wish I was closer, I'd love to pop round and give you a hand, I might learn a thing or two:)

Had another busy day today:D Fitted the new spigot bearing in the clutch kit, but I forgot about pic's when I fitted the clutch. All ready to be dropped in I had to break the old man out of retirement for a few hours, well someone had to keep an eye on me:D Telling me to stop messing about taking pictures;) It's been a few years since he's had to do this:rolf And here it is, where it should be Just a few more bits to fit:D

LOL the engine is nice and safe, got it on a little trolley so I can move it around easily now. Just got the steering rack and aluminium cross member to sort out now. The ABS pump is annoying me a bit as it looks rubbish, I'm not sure what I'm going to do with that yet. Before: Upto now

Thanks for the comments guys. After moving my engine into the back garden, which I thought was best as by 9.30 this morning the scrap men had knocked on our door asking if the engine was for scrap:oo I started stage 1, engine bay de-grease:D It's now sitting in my garage with an oil heater in the bay to help dry out all the connections etc Done a bit more cleaning and painting tonight.

Ah OK mate, will do. About what rpm does a T61 start to spool 3000-3500rpm?

OK Thanks guys if it just needs shortening than thats not to much of a problem, as Pulley says when I fit my flexi pipe I'll take a bit more out. Are you all running 3'' mid/decat pipes or 2.5'' ?

Does the position of this down pipe look OK where it comes out under the car, it looks really low to me. I haven't got my second de-cat pipe yet so it's hard for me to tell if it's anywhere near. Anyone got any links for the de-cat pipes they've used? From the top Under the car

Thanks for the kind words mate. Sorry but I'm keeping the engine as a spare just incase anything happens to this one. Theres nothing I'd change yet but I haven't got it running yet;) only time will tell I guess

I decided to trial fit the manifold and turbo etc on my existing engine to see if it all fits as EVERYONE thats seen it has said 'thats not going to fit in there' so I thought I'd rather scratch and bash this engine instead of my newly painted one. Well it does fit:woot:, theres a few things that need sorting like the screamer pipe and I'm sure the down pipe isn't going to be a perfect fit when I do get the second de-cat but the main parts fit fine. Anyway I best stop playing about now and carry on removing the ancillaries etc ready to take the engine out:D

Whys that Chris, what would you say I should be doing. I'm pretty sure the bolts aren't going to come out so should I grind the heads off the bolts and re-fit it to my decat pipe to keep everything as stock as possible?
