    AEM ECU

Question ! So it will be possible to re program the auto box . So rather then it changing gear at +6,500 rpm it could be changed to change at around 6,000 rpm or less to keep it in the maximium torque range. regards
  2. I don't think I want to hear my engine, I worry enough when putting it in the Garage at home and hearing all the noises bouncing off the garage wall. Scarry regards
  3. It is a recommendation of CW to put in this restrictor. Remember you have not just de catted it you have put on a performance rear box opening up the exhaust system completely. Apparantly some boost ok some go to high, I am told that having 1.4 boost will not give any extra power then if you have 1.1 or 1.2 boost except that the engine will last longer. I do not know why boost controllers cannot decrease boost, someone else might be able to answer that. Putting a CAT back I am sure will restrict the boost and Power putting a restrictor in will just reduce boost with no loss of power. I might be wrong but I am NOT going to put a Cat back in I feel all naughty running no cats and thats how I like it
  4. I have got the CW down pipes and all you have to do is make up a metal gasket with a smaller whole through it to control the boost. Boost controllers cannot reduce boost, I am told. I will be getting some made up and can get some for you if you like, I am going to get a few made up so I can get the boost exactly to 1.275 regards
  5. Bleed valves etc.. can only increase boost pressure you cannot reduce it. Thats why I am going to have to fit a restrictor in my exhuast. Thats what I have been told regards
  6. You must buy a boost gauge, you could be hitting excessive boost which is not good for your car.
  7. My power stearing sometimes has a rubbing sound, like it is rubbing somewhere. I just turn the stereo up, works a treat regards
  8. Do you know what boost pressure you are running. Do you still have cats in? I get that sometimes because my boost pressure is to high
  9. Having recently decatted and fitted CW pipes and a super drager I have experienced boost pressures between 1.4 and 1.5 and experience detonation(miss firing) when running hard on the motorway. I know lots have done this mod and I am interested in what you are experiencing. Obviously only people still running stock Turbo's need post here. Also be good if we could keep this on topic. Could people post : 1. type of decat mod (both cats junked etc..) 2. What type of rear box 3. Max boost 4. Are you experiencing Miss fire 5. Have you blown up yet I think this would be interesting.
  10. Good turnout on Sunday, very enjoyable. Ok, showed a few people the gearknob mod and I think everyone liked the idea, general view is to mount the button on the dash next to the gear stick area. Thus people can choose their own gearknob to best match their own personal taste. To expensive to machine a gear knob with the O/D button inside and then you would only have one choice of Knob. One guy at the meet said that he could not use it because he has race logic and I think meant that he has no dash lights to show what gear he is in. He is in the Red Supra for sale named Phil. Can anyone explain what he meant, does fitting race logic remove the gear indicator lights in the spedo. regards
  11. The kit I have in mind would allow you to hook on a gear gaiter over the stock auto cover as in the picture. Included in the kit is the adapter that connects to the stock auto gear shift to take ANY gear knob, so you would be able to order one to match your interior or preference. These range from approx £25 - £50. The O/d button would need to be moved to the dash, I would source and include this in the kit. If anyone thinks people would prefer the O/D button put in the gear knob then I would have to have a stock one machined at the top to house the stock button. This would limit the choice of gear knobs to one type and would put the cost up by a lot. Thoughts regards
  12. Here is the photo, my mate came round and took a picture for me: http://81.130.202.105/images/1.jpg You will notice the O/D button, this is a temp meassure. It does look like a manual don't you think.# There is an excess of leather from the normal gear gaiter but you can buy leather and make your own. P.S. sorry about the dirty carpet and keys and Aero roof tool on the seat. Hope you like it, can show it for real on Sunday for all those going regards
  13. I won't have access to a scanner until Wednesday. To make the mod perfect I need to get my mate who has an engineering firm to make an adapter. This will then be able to be used on a wide selection of different gear knobs. You will then be able to choose the one that you like. GIve me a short while to test it and make sure that it dosn't break. But it is a brilliant mod I am very chuffed with my self. regards
  14. MANU is covered but you can still select it. O/D as a temp messure has been moved to flat dash, using the existing switch. I might mod the gear shift further to take the button or put in a new button on the dash. regards
  15. I have done it! and it looks fantastic. Feels better shift down to L by just pressing down on gear shift. Gaitor boot covers all auto numbers and it looks like a manual can't wait to show you all on Sunday. I am sure other Auto owners will want to do this mod. regards
  16. No, all my own idea. I like the use of the Auto box in the Supra but do not like the look of it in a sports car. I THINK I can make it look much more exciting and feel better to use. The parts should arrive tomorrow and I hope to have something to show on Sunday. regards
  17. I have just ordered some parts which I am going to have to modify. The idea is to make the auto shift changer feel and look more like a sequential shift. The stock shift knob will be replaced with a polished alloy one and the existing button to press to take it out of park will be done by pushing down on the new alloy knob. The over drive button will have to be placed in the new knob. A leather gaiter kit from a manual will cover the existing auto area thus making it look like a manual. I think It will make it a much more exciting feel to the auto when using the manual override and shifting through L 2 and drive. And keep people guessing at track days. No more Oh its an auto. I will post pictures on the site once done. regards
  18. I would want the LCD read out and a buzzer would be excellent, as long as you could turn the buzzer off. Just in case it got on my nerves while doing track days. A neat little square box would be good, perhapes could fit where the ash tray is. Or if you require to be able to view it easier while driving mount it on the top of the dash behind stearing wheel, with a black wire to perhapes cut a hole in the top and thread it through. When will the LCD one be ready regards
  19. Most of us can do the servicing ourself. It is not difficult, I never, never take any of my cars to garages. DIY, at least if something changes you know what you did so you can sort it out. All garages are crap. regards
  20. When will the LCD £150 be ready, and is this the complete kit to connect up to the Supra. Can it be left connected all the time regards
  21. So just so I understand, you have designed an Air Fuel mixture gauge, to show the air fuel mixture running in the Supra. How much is this gauge regards
  22. Chris has advised making a metal gasket to sit between his de cat pipes with a smaller hole to reduce boost. I am going to get a few made so I can experiment and get the boost down to 1.3 Thanks for all the help with this prob. Still don't know why it is boosting so high but the super drager pipe is absolutley really big bore. I don't know if this is normal regards
  23. When I de catted my JSpec it made no defference to boost pressure untill I also replaced the back boxes with a super drager. At 2,500 rpm boost will be low as the turbo is not spinning much. As you reach higher revs the boost will increase and at 4,000 rpm the second turbo kicks in and as you accelerate further boost will increase. Revs quoted are for jap spec. Have you still got stock rear exhaust regards
