  1. I have always wanted to know why they start to squek when they get old. Can anyone tell me
  2. Not if spaying with wd40 stops it. The pump bearing will be sealed and impossible for the wd40 to stop it. You odd one out you
  3. It is the belt, spraying it stops it squeking but it soon comes back. Time for a new belt or checking tightness. Not the pump defo no
  4. Get the battery checked at any good DIY shop, they can check each cell. I had the same problem with an OLD battery on my Supra. One of the cells was dead even though it still read a good 12V+ .
  5. The restrictor that I am going to put in my exhausts to get boost levels down is simply the same as a gasket but just made out of stainless steel with a smaller hole to restrict flow. It would make no difference to the noise of the exhaust system, IMO. The only thing in an exhaust to reduce noice is a baffle. Which you really cannot make or should try to alter what ever system you have. regards
  6. It must be to do with how high it is mounted. Mine is so high I had to romove the heat shield and brace(mine is an aero). Will put brace back after I have modified it. The exhaust is so close to the floor pan of the car about 10-15 mm. My super dragger with CW pipes never grounds including when going over speed bumps. My car is standard supension except I do have 45 tyres on the rear.
  7. I bought everything off CW. CW decat pipes + HKS Super dragger. But CW did say that all cars are different. He suggested putting in a restrictor. WHich is what I am going to do for the summer. For now I am just going to put second Cat back in. Plenty enough power for the winter.
  8. Yes I have boost 1.4 to 1.5, I am putting back the second CAT for now. As this will be fine for the Winter months. Will be getting a restrictive ring made to limit the boost when I take off the second Cat in the Summer. New owner will have it soon so I am doing it to safe gaurd him. regards
  9. I had a BMW that did the same thing. It was to do with the fuel injectors or where fuel is injected in that needed cleaning. Sorry I cannot be anymore help. Mine was fixed by a local garage who is not a BMW dealer. Cost was very cheap. My local garage is in Bexleyheath Kent. regards
  10. No it is at the bottom of the knob in black. At the bottom of the knob where the leather stops and it turns into plastic. That slides down it helps to take off the plastic facia that holds the fag tray.
  11. Is the rattle the button and not inside? Mine did not do this
  12. Firstly a plug for the auto to manual look and feel: http://www.rolec.co.uk/cgi-bin/ikonboard/topic.cgi?forum=11&topic=149 To get into the auto gear knob: All you need to do is slip down the plastic cover below the knob and remove the two screws which hold the knob on. What you might find is that the adjuster arm inside needs screwing out to take up any play. But you must be careful when changing it as it will effect the selector. If you are in Kent I live 3 miles from BrandsHatch. I am in all this week and at weekend and help you if you want. I can also show you the above mod on my car
  13. Justin, is that what used to be "All car equipe"? (I know that was years ago!).... I thought you were based in Ashford? Yes, that was a long time ago......
  14. Pete Betts is sourcing me a switch, once I have fitted it and I am happy, the kit will be ready. Everything else is made regards
  15. Justin tried my car at the weekend with the auto mod. He could not believe how much better it made the Auto to drive and has ordered one for himself and one for the shop. regards
  16. I was driving to my mates to show him the extra power. When I got there I did not know what had happened. But I looked at the engine for a while and noticed the pipe off. My heart started beating again once the pipe was put back! regards
  17. Shouldn't come off as it is mainly a sucking pressure. I however had a pipe come off from the second Turbo and it simply would not spool untill I put pipe back on. Very worrying when it happened as I had just done a de cat and thought I had blown a Turbo. regards
  18. Does anyone know? First person to give me the answer gets an Auto to manual look kit at cost. regards
  19. I am glad you like it Chris. DO you think it is something that would be popular on other Auto sports cars i.e. RX7? Phil, Where and when do you want to meet to try car?
  20. Please, please do not start an off topic here. I hope you will understand kind regards
  21. It's not such a big problem but I use the od off button a lot to change down to third when coming up to roundabouts etc. so not having it on the stick would not suit me. The button will be right by the stick just on the bit by the handbrake. I find with this mod you can move the stick to second for roundabouts. I'll take you out in mine with the mod and you can try it. I am sure you will like it. I would be interested in your opinion. regards
  22. Ok, I have had a proper adapter made which will take any universal gear knob. The parts have to be made by hand as they are in such small quantities and this has brought the price up. The adapter will cost £70 + a switch , not yet sourced to use for the O/D. + A set of clips to hook the gear gaitor onto. I am still trying to source these as If I have them made they will cost £30 which is silly. You will still have to buy a gear knob - approx. £25-£50 + a gear gaitor - approx. £14 - approx £25. It is an easy DIY fit and should take about 2 hours, the time being spent relocating the O/D switch. But the end result is very good and it gives a much different feel when driving the car. If you are not convinced then come around and try my car. Is the price ok, I do not want to get any made and then find out it is too expensive for all of you. regards
  23. I did not have to undo anything to get to the filter, it is tricky but you can get to it from underneath after jacking the car up. regards Brian
