  1. WRX standard is 230bhp, Not sure where they made the 50bhp when modding it to 280bhp. I drove his & it does have a lag problem shifting between 2nd & 3rd gear. I think id have a good chance, especially from a rolling start. + my gear shifts would be spot on being in an auto lol.
  2. WRX is the normal one, STi is the high spec one with better everything on it. Better handling & more performance. I mainly enjoy brute straight line acceleration, im easy on my brakes & tyres, anticipating when im going to have to stop or slow, letting slip roads slow me etc.
  3. I wouldnt race on the streets & this would be at 4am, cause id do it on the way home on a night shift. I have no intention of crashing, or pushing my luck.
  4. Well its not an STi, its a WRX with PPP pack & some tuning . His dyno readout says 280bhp but all suspension etc is still WRX.
  5. Really? If i sucker him into a rolling start (say 30mph) in a cat & mouse style race with me in the lead, that would swing it my way surely? This would be on a dual carriageway, coming down from a long slip road
  6. My mate recons he would beat me in a drag race with his 02 Impreza STi 280bhp if i bought a 13 year old standard supra tt auto, if he beat me id never hear the end of it. I think it would be an easy win but the more he goes on about it im not so sure. What do you think?
  7. Ive seen it, test driven it. So im sure its as it is in the photo
  8. I will buy it on condition he repairs those things. He said hed fix replace the rubbers as it was making a racket as we left the car lot. Heres the link to see the car anyways. http://users.autoexposure.co.uk/classicdd.cfm?Account=AETA34341&VehicleID=AETV84074641&Image=http://users.autoexposure.co.uk/is/autoedit/AETA34341/AETV84074641_1a.jpg Im not keen on the walnut finish on the dash but im guessing its not hard to replace or spray up Also TT is around £150 a year less to insure than the N/A version. Strange!
  9. The car ive looked at is totally standard, original wheels (scratched + chipped), original bodykit, exhaust original, engine is standard. 95 TT auto 52000 miles. £8500 but im going to offer £8000 + cam belt change, service, cat1 alarm + either refurbing of alloys or cash off the price. It has the switch for the auto spoiler but when i went looking for it, didnt see anything. Will check it out if he accepts my offer. If its not working or removed, hes getting less for his car!. Boot dampers didnt work & the rubbers that the boot lid sits on were worn & made it clonk a bit when i drove it, thats all i found wrong with it. Small faint dent on the sil. How does the engine only have 4 gears and still remain as economic as the manual?. Is there any way to kick the car down a gear for overtaking & blasting past a lane hog when they FINALLY move over? My test drive was my first time in an auto.
  10. Is the auto spoiler obvious when you look around the front bumper cause i got right down and couldnt see anything resembling a spoiler. Can anyone tell me what the 0-60 times when new of the manual and auto versions? How much BHP will these cars have lost in 13 years? With only 4 gears is the auto version real bad on petrol compared with the manual?
  11. The supra i looked at had the switch for the auto spoiler but i couldnt see one at the front? Whats the diff control switch do thats next to it? I test drove it but didnt notice any manual shift, how do i put it in that mode?
  12. hmm i was looking at S15's and you cant import any models made after dec 2000. I dont really understand why. I want a manual & they are so hard to get yet they are all sitting there in Japan.
  13. Hi, i just read in the supra guide that the RZ was made all the way up to 2002 & only available in manual form. Where are these beauties? why arent they being imported? Do all autos have the manual shift option? Cheers.

    Im new!

Hi, ive owned a 96 Celica GT for 5 years and have decided id like a supra. I really want a manual twin turbo but they seem hard to get, ones that are around are either non turbo or have a big single turbo conversion. Ive tried an auto but although its fast, i didnt feel the acceleration as much as id expected considering ive been driving a 170bhp car & i think manuals are more fun. The car i tested was totally standard so quiet & the suspension maybe took the bite off the acceleration sensation. It was very nice though, full leather, electric seats etc just under 50000 miles £8500 but knocked him down a lot + hed install cat1 alarm, full service + vallet, cam belt change, 12 months parts warranty. Only bad things i found was boot dampers not working, and scuffed wheels, they are the original ones by the look of them.1 little dent on the sil still thinking. Question about some of the switches...spoiler adjust ?? and a swtich says something about a constant diff or something like that. Supras with Veilside kits. Can you take off the huge spoiler and replace with a standard one easily or will it leave holes behind? Cheers Alex
