  1. uughhh I don't hate many people, but Amy Win house is soo annoying ! Big up the depp man.... also people like Bill Gates get a lot of bad press, but they do looaads for charity
  2. Now, I know I said earlier that the idea of a more subtle look (incl paintwork) would be nice, but completely disregarding that comment I love the look of your car Muffleman, that is a real nice finish I live in N. London, could easily head over to Gatwick to take you up on the offer of a spin! Let me know when your around, I work abroad Mon - Thurs though
  3. Hi, Can you put me down for a place. I have an auto right now, but think the manual conversion will be done by then, other than that, will probably be pretty stock, but should still be fun.. never been on the ring.
  4. Mate - I feel disgusted that the above picture is even on my 'project ideas' thread! haha - there is no way anything like that will happen
  5. hmm i'd say performance probably beats looks, although i really do want to stick with the aerotop, love driving open/targa top cars when it does stop raining. Does the 'flop' suffer from an rigidity issues? I kind of assumed the remaining roof section would make it a lot better than a full soft top...? I hadn't considered going for anything other than putting in a TT 6 speed to start with, but I guess I could look at something more custom straight away.. hmm time for more research maybe Budget for me is probably going to be about 10-15k initially (over the next year), but in stages. Loving the understated styling on the WOTM car Slightly scared by the performance though.. most powerful car i've owned is a 330bhp gt-four, so I need to ease into the whole rwd thing!
  6. yeah, i definitely don't have an open cheque book, just wondering what people would like to do if they didn't have to think about cost. Hmm what kind of powertrain/chassis work would you recommend after getting the 6 speed sorted out? Just checked out the Ryan Woon car on youtube - nice stuff Just picked up the NA auto, first step is the conversion
  7. Hey Guys, I picked up my Supra with the idea of making it a longish term project. Having browsed through the members gallery and spent some time on the forums I've been really impressed by some of the cars in the club and also some of the work being done by the traders. Looks like lot's of people have got plenty of good things going on. I thought it might be fun to start a thread asking a couple of questions to help build some inspiration for my car, so here they are: 1) If you had an open cheque book what kind of design/theme/set up would you like to go for 2) Have you seen any inspirational cars that you love (links plix!) For me, I haven't figured it out fully yet, but so far I know I want to go for a turbo six speed aerotop and build it with a very japanese theme (want to give it a kind of anime look and feel), after I get the basic set up and bodywork i'll start thinking about tuning, suspension and brakes.. (it's gonna be real long term!).. Yeah - that's very general right now, but i'm going to work on some drawings to get started
  8. Now on ebay, might go cheap so if anyone is after a 2nd family car or workhorse they may want to keep an eye on it http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160201785936&ssPageName=ADME:L:LCA:GB:1123
  9. Thanks for the comments people I'm not so much of a computer buff as you can tell. But I thought it was a good price hence put it here before on to ebay. I actually use a Macbook Pro myself as I'm not keen on working with Microsoft - especially Vista Oh - I also have an updgrade version of Windows XP (unused) which I can throw in (although you need i think 95,98 already activated to use it). Although not sure if windows XP might be a problem with the RAM - sounds like Guru and a few others know more than me about it the whole vista/64 bit thing than I do Funny thing is I work as an IT Management Consultant - just confirms that us consultants really don't have a clue haha
  10. Yeah - As I said, it's not the fastest you can get. But it's not that far behind at the moment. I think for the price it's a pretty good level of power.
  11. DamanC - sorry, I copied and pasted from cube! It means they are misselling. Here is this years equivelant of the ST12 http://www.cube247.co.uk/?customise=28 And yes - the RAM and Hard Drive size are correct.
  12. Hi, Unwanted Christmas gift that I won't use. It's been started up a couple of times, but I won't use it further. It rates itself as 5.9 for everything on the windows experience scale other than processor which is 5.6 or 5.7 (5.9 is the highest right now i think). I need to double check the specification, but I re-call it's as below. Generally speaking it's not far off the fastest you can get at the moment. I think it cost £1200 new in December, so I'm giving quite a big discount. I see on the Cube website they already replaced it with the Hydra ST13 - the only real spec difference is the mother board (which i don't think is any better) and the change to quad core (which - yes, will give it a wee bit more processing power). Ideally if someone wanted it they could pick it up in N. 13. Hi, 2002 Passat Estate for sale. 117,000 miles. Just had a timing belt and full service. I'll put a fresh 12 months MOT on it. Drives well, decent condition, some scratches / wear and tear on the paintwork (i'll add some pictures). Also a couple of 'baby throwing up' stains on the seats - my neice (one on the back seats, one on the passenger) - they might actually clean up, i'll give it a try I'll put some pictures up shortly. If anyone wants to come and have a look I'm in North London. I think it's priced to sell, if not - I'll lower the price http://www.alex-roan.net/passat1.jpg http://www.alex-roan.net/passat2.jpg http://www.alex-roan.net/passat3.jpg http://www.alex-roan.net/passat4.jpg http://www.alex-roan.net/passat5.jpg http://www.alex-roan.net/passat6.jpg http://www.alex-roan.net/passat7.jpg http://www.alex-roan.net/passat8.jpg http://www.alex-roan.net/passat9.jpg http://www.alex-roan.net/passat10.jpg http://www.alex-roan.net/passat11.jpg http://www.alex-roan.net/passat12.jpg Alex
  14. well they didn't make a manual aero top, so i would have had to buy one already converted and they hardly ever seem to come up... and i kind of wanted something fairly standard to start with, i guess chances of ever seeing a standard converted aerotop tt manual are very low
  15. Yeah - i was looking at the model comparison table on the website and I noticed that wooden dash was an optional extra - can't decide if i like it or not though I guess it would look crazy with the EL-GLO dials! (which I'm thinking of putting my name down for, but will maybe wait till after i get the manual dials).
  16. Hey People, Just adding myself to the list of people looking for the parts to make a conversion from N/A Auto to TT Manual for my Aero top Supra. Ideally hoping to get the whole package from a donor car including interior bits etc. but will consider what people may have. Hoping to find something low mileage too. Also interested in any advice from people who have already made this conversion. Alex
  17. hey ben, welcome - just joined too, we picked them up same day Alex
  18. bump in case people want to see pictures.. files are a bit large so may take a while to view on dial up. Also - just wanted to say thanks to all for the warm welcome. Thanks to Whifbitz for already giving me some advice on a manual conversion via pm And finally an apology to all the others looking for TT six speed manuals for the conversion as I'm now extra competition in the bidding - sorry I'm working abroad during the week at the moment, but i'll keep my eye open for any club meets on w/end days in the south & might get the chance to catch up with some of you soon. Alex
  19. Hi All, Just bought an L reg 3.0 auto aerotop, always fancied a Supra and also wanted something fun for summer... a 2002 diesel passat estate will be on ebay this weekend in case anyone is interested So the next thing that tempts me is does anyone know a garage in London that could replace the 3.0 N/A engine and auto box with a TT manual? I always wanted this combination. Update 20/01/08 Picked up the Supra yesterday - i'm so happy, they are even more fun to drive than i thought! the auto is very smooth and the engine seems to run well, loaded some pictures too.. might take a minute to download I paid £5000, mileage is a bit high at 89,000 - but condition looks good. It was exactly as described - purchased from discount car centre (dcc) in Manchester. I believe the last owner was an enthusiast so he may be here?? http://www.alex-roan.net/supra1.jpg http://www.alex-roan.net/supra2.jpg http://www.alex-roan.net/supra3.jpg http://www.alex-roan.net/supra4.jpg http://www.alex-roan.net/supra5.jpg http://www.alex-roan.net/supra6.jpg If anyone is interested to see my past Japanese cars, I have them on my website here http://www.alex-roan.net/Ride/Ride.htm Thanks everyone for all the warm welcomes & am definitely now in the market for a six speed box and engine for conversion in case anyone comes across one let me know (I realise there is a bit of competition for them!) Alex
