  1. The Rev 1 doesn't seem to weigh anything, Phil certainly makes his shift in the TSS! (Rev 1's seem to be popular in Nippon Challenge too).
  2. If you do get an MR2, you could give this series a look.
  3. You only get as close as you want to, there was plenty of room for caution.. I did clip the tyre wall on the other side of the track though. (Which was my own fault, I didn't want to brake).
  4. Err... Celica.. Celica.. Celica.. another Celica.. and.. I think there might have been some more Celicas (though only 4 ended up being regulars). Jeff Lotts performed won five rounds in his Celica, with Craig taking one win in his V6 converted Celica. They were all running track tyres, with various stages of interior stripping, and.. I don't know a great deal about Celicas to say anything more on them. Best scroll back up then, there's some videos up there. It's very unlikely you'll hit a tyre wall, or anything as solid (unless you or your car are.. pretty bad), but you will probably clip the odd cone.
  5. There's even a video, look! It's happening regardless. You don't need a Supra class to join in, I was the only Supra owner running this year and I don't mind if I am next year - it's just nice if there are a few more. I did this season on road tyres, you don't need anything special. This season it was generally 2-3 practice runs (iirc we had 3 at Teesside), and 8 timed runs. A run is between 1-3 minutes depending on the track. When we finished early at Barkston we were free to do untimed runs afterwards with passengers, which was quite good fun - interesting to see what line other people took. No guarantee that an event will finish early though of course.
  6. Happy Birthday. Where's the party?
  7. I hope you're not ignoring my completely serious fantastic offer Adnan.
  8. Really? I rather enjoyed JAE, but it's the first one I've been to (and I didn't go with the club). Japfest is definitely off my calendar though, been twice and not really enjoyed it.
  9. I didn't realise it was so hard to open http://www.tvguide.co.uk and do a search..
  10. Some very nice handiwork going into this car, are you aiming for a 'raw' weekend and track car? I would have thought the thread was worthy of going into the projects forum, if it meets the criteria.
  11. How about £10/month for the next 22 years? It'd give you a regular income..
  12. It sounded like James stopped and the guy coming the other way didn't.. I would have gone with the Lambo, just for that crazy road (though I wouldn't have minded the Aston either). That Ferrari was very ugly, and seemed rather gimmicky - I don't think I'll buy one. Who fancies a club trip to Romania?
  13. Sounds a bit serious, aren't you going to keep it on the road?
  14. It's not my area, but the trips and track days would be of interest to me.
  15. Nice, thanks. Just gave them a go online (via confused.com) and quoted £710 fully comp - reasonable. That would be the thoughtline behind posting the thread, I don't expect many insurers will want to know if the car doesn't have an alarm. This is for my track car by the way, not my daily.
  16. Well that saves me having to get an engine conversion to keep up. Get some photos up num.
  17. I'm moving to a smaller battery in my car, and I want to get rid of the alarm as it's quite a drain. Does anyone have an insurance policy that doesn't require an alarm, and allows for modifications? Who do you use? TIA.
  18. Nice price for a track day. I haven't even started doing anything to my car yet..
  19. I have a set of 16s, with front tyres only - any good? £40 collected.
  20. I don't think it's any worse than the Supra, I'd go with something lighter for racing with though (if I were being sensible.. which I don't tend to be ).
  21. Soarer's are rather cheap too, if you want something Supra-ish. Probably need to do a manual conversion though..
