  1. for reliabilty reason i would allways reccomend the toad ai606. again straight forward cat one , door locking , interior ultrasonic movemnt sensors , boot and bonnet switches , and a batery backup siren , dose not have the ad on gimmicks of the cliffords or vipers , but unlike the competitors in the rang it will never go wrong or leave you stranded when the imobiliser jams on , failing the toad next best i would say is cobra , again , verry reliable
  2. ihave tried to run a tt map sensor , but the lower voltage it gives to the ecu via the signal wire means the car runs lean so i tried upping the voltage down that signal wire by ruducing a 12v feed to 2.4v witch is what the na map sensor gives and i thaught then i could mariginly adjust that signa + or - using my apexi safc but to no avail. after that i replaced the tt map sensor with the ge map sensor so the car wa fueling correctly pre boost and fitted a one way valve on the vacume line witch did allw me to boost until i lifted off the throttle and the car flat out stalled at 50mph, not good , in regardes to the question , wher am i geting the information to try these thing , well, i just thaught i use a bit of initiative and try these thing before i asked for advice .
  3. i have tried to use a one way valve but the car did not like it one bit , i have jsut converted the car to a n/a-t , and i have been trying differnt fuel managment mehtods , but the map sensor is the only problem i am having
  4. we did a similar thing at a drift event , its not a big deal , we robed the parts from another car and within 20 mins the car was in the next round
  5. more than likley to be obd2 , i think they wer all ob2 after 96
  6. that takes all the fun out of a project if you just give it to someone els
  7. i thaught the emanage being a piggy back unit used the original ecus base map and alowed you to alter it to acount for the boost and fueling , i may be wrong as i am far from an expert. but i am in the process of a similar setup and i am curently using the car and its running fine aslong as i saty away from the boost until i get a new ecu , or piggy back unit in .so if i find anything out ill let you know
  8. no you cant , i have tried and tested and the voltage output on the signal wire is mutch lower from the tt map sensor sor it under fuels , and even with the gains on the safc maxd out the +30% of the lower voltage is nower near what it needs to be , if that makes sense
  9. that is nice to know , im just wating to recive some quotes on stand alone units so if they are to expensive for me at the moment i think an emanage is the only way to go .
  10. 190 was the cylinder compression test results. my afr is fluctuates between 14.7 down to 11.3 at the moment but that irevlivant becuase the map sensor will not let me boost i am using an innovate lc1 with the db guage, and the old black box style safc , but thats going in the bin
  11. the one in the intial post was the comma we were refering to.
  12. ther we go gentlemen , memmbership payd , comma gone .
  13. I was wondering if anybody had ever used a voltage clamp on the map sensor to stop it from bringing up an error code , i have a na/t and i have been told that i need to set a voltage clamp on my map sensor , but in all honesty iv , no i dea what a volt clamp is or what i need to clamp the voltage at , , so any help would be great
  14. i think a knock sensor would be a good investment goin on what youv sed. hopefully if i stay at 7 psi onn 99oct i shouldnt have that problem but best to keep it moniterd.
  15. as far as i know aslong as you stay below 9psi on normal pump fuel whith the standard head gasket ther should be no problems , or thats what many others have told me
  16. thanks alot , ill get on it and see how ewe get on , hopefully ill have some joy with this setup
  17. ok , so you use the blue and your happy so i will go with that, could you pleas tell me a bit more about your set up , what aditional parts you need with the em blue , how you delt with the map sensor , psi, afr , ijector size ect , all mutch apriciated
  18. see , now thats what iv wanted to hear from day one , but so many people have told me the blue will be no good for my ge because it cannot retard the timeing and i risc pre ignition . 330 bhp is not a scratch of what the 2jzs are capable of so i thaught the lower end fuel controllers would suffice , but my current safc would not do the job because my map sensor wont support boost, so i questiond the emanage blue and was turned against it , would the blue alow me 2 simply up the fuel under boost and iradicate my map sensor from throwing codes and cutting my fuel ? bromy if you tell me it will , i will hapily take your word and go for one
  19. no i was talikng abut the aem piggy back fuel ignition controller , but if they make a replacement ecu for the ge i could be interested , do you have any idea of cost
  20. hi again gav , yes thats what i thaught , but iv done my reaserch on them and the reviws from people with a similar set up 2 myself have not been over convinceing , and i heard a whisper that the aem would be a better option , ? i have basicly built the whole car from a bare chassis over the past 6 months without a problem until the final hurdle , its cracking me up
  21. will the aem fic work on an obd1 ecu , 1994 n/a the car has had a n/a-t conversion and i dont know alot about the aem , so any experience of the unit and feedback would be apriciated
  22. i never checked it before i removed the dizzy cap, but i replaced it with the 4 runner cap and it was at 1 deg after so it neede to be rest witht he timeing light.
  23. i know the max you can have on stock h/g and injectors is 9 psi wich can give aorund 340 bhp to the wheels if tuned correctly at 10 deg btdc, so at 7 psi at 10deg before i shouldnt have any detination issues aslong as i can get my afr right , last time i checked i was around 190 on all 6,
