  1. Midlife - Just checking, sorry You sure Tescos dont care about imports? They gave me a decent quote, but when I phoned up they had mine down as a MkIII from the reg no. Mcanny - Cheers for keeping us informed, appreciate it. Shame they might be clamping down. Oh well, dont need 'naaaawwzz' anyway...
  2. What do you want a quote now for if your insurance isnt up until August? Read the thread - we dont wanna p1ss them off with loads of useless enquiries before a deal is even in place...
  3. ...lol I know how you feel now Martin...
  4. I assume that was my car, the RLTC you fitted does work superbly...cheers. PS Got my CD this morning
  5. Use the search button, everything you need is there! AFAIK the HKS BOV SSQV is regarded as the best dump valve for up to 18psi. Shouldnt be too hard to fit... I've just pulled the pipe off the stock BOV that recirc's the air into the turbos and blocked up the hole, makes a pretty good noise and cost precisely nothing. Have a look at these threads for dump valve stuff: Which dump valve? BOV and Induction HTH
  6. I use Motul RBF600 high temp fluid, like Terminator said Chris Wilson can sort you out...
  7. Yeah, i just had some braided brake lines fitted - tightened up the pedal loads. What is the benefit of a dump valve? NOISE :flame Dev Get searching, dump valves, induction kits, exhausts and IC's have been done to death... Enjoy your new toy...
  8. Do a search for 'uk brakes', there is loads of info... As long as you have big enough alloys (or stock 17s) it is a straight swap. Like you say, you will have to cut or bend the backing plate out of the way but that is it. What to expect? Loads more stopping power.
  9. welcome to the board Loads of people have asked this, try searching for 'UK Brakes'. The only way to be sure is to try your wheels on a Supra with UK spec brakes...
  10. I've got Chris Wilsons intermediate pads, they make a big difference compared to stock and don't squeel. I heard the Porterfield ones arent exactly disk friendly... Also, I just had some Stainless Steel Brake hoses fitted - the pedal is way firmer now.
  11. As brian says, a transmission swap would be a 'easier' than hacking the roof of a hardtop Supra... There are a few Aussie/NZ guys who have done this - its a lot of work. Try driving an auto, some people prefer them to the 6 speed...
  12. haha, I was waiting for that... Toyota made NO manual aerotops in RHD.
  13. I'd agree with Andrew - my 6 speed makes the odd rattle or clunk but never any 'whiny' noises. The only noises my Supe makes like that are the turbos boosting...
  14. There is articles on removing the headlights on the technical section of mkivsupra.net and mkiv.com I've not done it myself (yet), but it doesnt look too tricky...
  15. Suspiciously friendly to a newbie there Martin Welcome to the board Anthony... Try looking on http://www.supraforums.com, i think its a common problem with the aerotop... Tom.
  16. I had my clutch and flywheel replaced last year by CW. Cos im near stock BHP, I was advised to stick with the stock Toyota set-up. The flywheel was a LOT cheaper than I had been lead to believe and stopped my Supra sounding like a tractor everytime I changed gear...
  17. Surprisingly, i'd be interested in cheaper insurance I remember someone mentioning the deal the MR2 club have a while back, sounds like a superb idea. Hope it works out... Mine isnt due for renewal until July BTW. Tom.
  18. "Excuse me, I think I asked for the large spoiler" Cant say im that keen myself - I reckon the stock wing looks ok, but whatever floats your boat eh?....
  19. Cool, I'll have to get me one of these. I always keep a couple of bottles of Octane Booster in the car in case I get caught on the hop - happens a lot round here.
  20. When I can get it, Optimax, but the nearest Shell garage is 30 miles away so usually Super Unleaded with Octane Booster. Im running just below 1 bar at the mo BTW. Tom.
  21. If you are after Chris Wilson, here are his details - Chris Wilson Newbury House Lower Heath Prees Shropshire SY13 2BT Home / work : 01948-841581 Mobile : 07971-952084 Fax : 01948-840019 Email - [email protected] http://www.formula3.freeserve.co.uk I got my Supra de-catted by him, brilliant service. Tom.
  22. Barnstormer, Where did you get your Greddy 52mm Boost Gauge from? I've had a quick look around and I can't find them anywhere in the UK. Tom.
  23. Can an FCD be set to still give fuel cut? But at higher psi levels? I'm pretty sure that the TRL FCD is raises the fuel cut to somewhere above 18psi, and the HKS one removes it completely. Tom.
  24. Andrew, As you have a J-Spec, full de-cat and an aftermarket back box you will be hitting fuel cut without a FCD. You should be getting around 18psi and as you rightly say, fuel cut is at 14-15. You must have a FCD. I've never had it myself, but you definately be aware if you are hitting fuel cut, probably a huge jolt through the car as the power is cut - someone on the on this BBS likened it to hitting a wall! Not entirely sure about this, but I think the FCD is hooked into the ECU, which is under the passenger seat(?). Have a look at this page - http://www.trlperformance.com/vfcc.html I'm currently getting my car de-catted, and even with the stock back box I may occasionally hit fuel cut on cold days. Hope this was of some use, Tom.
