  1. Sorry to hear about your car mate, hope it gets sorted... I would be interested to know what the symptoms were, what made you take your car in to be checked? Was it just loss of performance? Cheers.
  2. That one looks like a cheap PC joystick
  3. Good point, it is for the US stock wheels - so 17" Ideally get alloys that weigh the same as or less than the stock wheels...
  4. I know these links have been posted before, but it has been a while and they are useful... These sites give the weights of most aftermarket and stock alloys, people looking at getting some 18's or 19's might want to consider the weight of the wheels as well as the looks: Audiworld.com Wheelweights.net Stock wheel weight: Front 24.5 lb Rear 26.5 lb
  5. Could be fuel cut if it only happens when you are accelerating hard, but a delimiter prob is likely. Do a search for 'de-limiter'. Welcome, BTW
  6. You should be ok doing turning the car back on again, turbo timers leave the engine idling so the hot air/oil in the turbos is cooled. The turbos won't cool down in the time you switch the ignition off and then on again...
  7. I put my Supra turbos in parellel a couple of weeks ago and ever since the idle has been 200-300rpm higher than when it was running in sequential. It used to start at about 1100, now its around 1300 at cold. Warm idle is also higher. I used the hose TTC method, and all the hoses are where they are supposed to be. I also checked the ISC valve. Apart from the idle problem, TTC is excellent if not a bit too loud...

    Hello All

Hehe... http://www.cqmembers.co.uk/cruzin247/funny2/TN_sign.JPG Have a good weekend, what ever flavour of supra you drive
  9. Yeah, good hunting. In the window at the bottom right, its the black one with red writing.
  10. If you want a cheap boost gauge, i've got a mechanical Veilside one knocking about - i'm upgrading to defis PM me if you are interested...
  11. Sorry, but i'm not keen on either - I prefer the Greddy and Defi gauges. At a push, i'd have the HKS one as it is less cluttered...

    Hello All

To quote 'The Who'... "I don't need to fight to prove my might" Cheers for entertaining me for the last half an hour of work, i'm out of here.

    Hello All

Its a good idea, but it wouldn't be subjective - there are way too many variables to get a definitive answer. The nearest thing we've had are the 'stock turbo bunfights' which have been won by j-specs (i think, correct me if i'm wrong)... For now, we'll just continue arguing

    Hello All

haha, why isn't there a 'head in the sand' smiley for the UK lot? Everyone of us drives a kick ass car, nuff said. Why can't we all just get along?

    Hello All

Both are awesome cars, fact. But if you want to split hairs... Posted by Chris Wilson here...
  17. Use of the search button found the following: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=11335&highlight=voodoo The website is http://www.voodoo.tech.new.net/
  18. Cheers Jake, Thats very decent of you mate, I'm going to get in touch with Chris Wilson and see what he recommends I do. I went just went to great lengths to get my car through its MOT without any Cats so I'll probably go for a restrictor ring.
  19. Thanks for the reply Steve, I realise that hitting fuel cut is not exaxtly ideal, it would just be a preventative measure - the lesser of two evils. You're right, I'll have to get a restrictor ring seeing as I don't have any cats to back on. There is no way to lower boost in the same way a bleed valve raises it is there? Stupid question probably...
  20. I've just been poking around my car and the stock intercooler is falling to pieces. I had a it feeling might be past its best but nowhere near as bad as it is. I've got a full de-cat and Superdrager 2 exhaust, running ~1.1bar with no restrictor rings. I obviously need a new intercooler, a Chris Wilson one sounds the best but it will have to wait until after xmas. I have another car to drive for the time being and obviously won't be thrashing my Supra until its sorted Two questions - 1) Will the CW SMIC support moderate hybrids when/if I get some in the future? I don't really want a FMIC as I want the car looking stock... 2) Is there an easy way to lower boost to a safe level until I can get a SMIC? . What about if I lower the FCD to come in at less boost? Cheers.
  21. AFAIK, the UK spec discs are plenty good enough. If you put some decent pads on and use Motul RBF6000 fluid they will be fine for the odd track day. I've got some braided brake lines on my J-spec brakes, and while they won't make you stop quicker they do tighten up the pedal nicely. I would consider the Chris Wilson Fast Road pads over Porterfields. His pads made a world of difference to my piddly brakes and don't munch discs like Porterfields...
  22. Your car should be somewhere near fuel cut with a big exhaust on, even with the cats in. The cold weather might just be pushing it over. I'm sure you will lose the cats eventually, so you may as well get a FCD. Also, get a boost gauge asap, its not worth risking it.
  23. I'm going to give my car a check up this weekend because its not boosting quite as hard as it should be, I have a suspicion its the stock BOV. Does anyone know how to check it? I know you blow into one of the ends but which one? I've done a search and found nothing... Cheers.
  24. Yeah, I live and work near aberystwyth. I get down your way on business quite often. I like it here in Welsh Wales - twisty roads, no traffic jams, no Gatsos and surf. I was gutted to see Wales go out, I really wanted them to get through. They bottled it TBH, not enough top level, experienced players.
