  1. so i have it wrong there goes my theory map = manifold absolute pressure maf = manifold absolutly ? where to get stock (denso?) dump valve? edit: checked a couple of plugs(omg like trying to get in fort knocks) black ish in the plug bit (cant describe) but white ish on the arm (dont know technical terms but looked good bit blacker than expected aroung the threads)
  2. i have been busy playing with my supra trying to get it to misfire when both turbo's are online as it was starting to pi$$ me off and i have come across what i think is the problem but i need some info from you ppl who know more about the engine/mapping (stuff? ) from the start the 1st turbo boosts nicely to about 6psi (sould be about .6 bar ie 8 or 9psi right?)but both only to 9.5 - 10 psi, i checked all over for leaks, found it to be the bov it is easyer to blow thru when it should be holding boost than what it is when it should be recirc'ing it - i thought the ecu must pick up the boost levels before the dumpvalve (seeing the boost before it is 'blead' of by the dump valve) and over fueling silly, would also fit in with the mpg figure i just got:sly: BUT on the way home from work i was thinking isnt it only the uk's that have map sensors and other have tps? so..at a set rpm and set tp it will give a 'set' fuel and cannot tell the boost is lower than it sould be? so over fuel? you still following me? cos idont think i am i have de-re-circed the stock valve, and it does leak loads and it has caused the misfire all the time when both tubies are on line up to about 5500rpm when i get a bit chicken and shift up 2 gears and sit on the first turbo:sly: anyway went slightly of track there the questions i have follow:p 1) am i correct does the ecu sence the engine load via a tps (tt j-spec)and so base its fueling off of this and not the actual boost? 2)would the dumpvalve crating such a drop in boost pressure cause the engine to over fuel to the point of missfire? in theory if both the answers are yes then a new dumpvalve should fix the probs:D i know i could block the dumpvalve completely and take for a spin to see if i get full boost and no missfire but just the thought of a full boost liftoff without a dumpvalve:bang: sorry for the uber long post but i am still learning about the awsome engine known as the 2JZGTE and my only knowledge of the two-way turbo system its air in compresser side...out exhaust side (two way ) thank you in advce:D
  3. yeah i just had to do this but it was raining... found you can thread it under the front right wing near the window, there is a little rubber rain deflector thing and behind the front wing/door gap and over door seal, it comes out by the door window buttons and the dash where i used the tube to hold the gauge in place worked a treat and helped me diagnose (sp?) my missfiring on 2nd turbo problem i am off to post about propper bodjit job:d
  4. omg some of these are realy scary shifts.... i just do the usual 8 or 9 hours a day 5 days week:d but when i was in the army we had a regimental rally wich was was set over 2and half days with no sleep in between think it was in the 50 hour mark but cant exactly call it a shift it was basical plot the points then prep equipment and go was ace like 10 mile long 'convoy' of us tearing through tiny villages most ppl in the smaller villages comming out thinking wtf then cheering us on, got a medal for it too

  7. so my jasma back box is just like an aproved backbox? dont understand how the problem could be down to worn clutch? do they not slip on supras when they are worn because i cant see/ feel it slip and its deffinately not as bad as pops and flames:cool:
  8. right i have been having the problem on and off for a while now, cant realy put my finger on what it is, the problem: car drives perfectly of boost / on 1st turbo, siquential(sp?) turbo system works correctly, the problem start when the second turbo comes in when cold (not fully up to temp) or on cold days its feels as if its hitting the revlimiter for fraction of a secont then full power ~ 500 rpm higher same thing happens over all the way upto redline, like i said it comes and goes might do it a bit in 2nd gear non in 3rd and real bad in 4th or will do it twice and not do it for rest of jurney:search: dont want to leave it too long like this if i can help it anyone seen this before? car is standard exept backbox witch is a 'jasma' 'main factor'? only words in english:D (looks the part but is as realy quiet:() have not checked anything over as yet any similar threads? finding it hard to search for some thing i dont realy know what to call lol:blink: cheers,

  14. mine is j-spec but all little stickers and such are in english, seem to remember the sunvisor also being english its an odd world
  15. finaly picked it up, only 3 days late because the bank was being mega tossers but first impressions it fooking shifts, my dad in his impreza was like where u gone but anyway we wasnt pushing it to hard because of me not being used to the car, drove all the way home no probs. took mum to work this morning in it and sat at a junction foot on brake i turned the stearing wheel to straighten up and the slip control off light on the dash started to flash, the only way i could get it off was to turn the car off for 20-odd seconds and then start it up again , when the lights not flashing i can turn the tcs on and off while driving but when it flashes i cant turn it either, the tcs does engage when it is flashing tho i cant figure it out, my initial thought was low fluid of some sort but after searching this forum for like an hour i still havent found a deffinate fix can any one help? its a j-spec tt 6
  16. not long till i pick the supra up now... about 24 hours 49 minutes not that i am counting lol) just started the insurance policy:d also my bank is empty /vbb/images/smilies/bbcode_sad.gif and i have finaly figured out...insurance company's are only there to take money off you
  17. was looking at one of these before the supra but cant get insured on one , this is a fine example good luck with the sale mate;)
  18. lol /vbb/images/smilies/bbcode_shock.gif
  19. lol the easy answer allways runs away when i look for it lol if it ever becomes a problem i think this could be the option to take but dont think i can afford engine mods for the first 2 years at least:D
  20. i know exactly how you feel mate, just done the same to my daily drive, weekend worrior and well practicaly my life:( (aka the mini) i am taking it on the chin and moving on, thats why i find my self in the land of supra's well almost...been back stabbed by loan company..but thats another story:Pling: good luck, with the motor mate ,hope its not as terminal as mine:(
  21. dont realy know why i am thinking about all this anyway i wont be loosing the cats unless i can get mot'd without em
  22. i have been figuring out why boost increases when a full decat system is used on j-specs i came to this conclution, but assumed the wastegate was external and so could be changed to a bigger one, obviousy that bit was wrong but i have heard of the wastegate being bored out on T3's because of boost creep (turned out to be a dud actuator:blink:), is this a possibility to do on the j-spec turbo's? or should i just forget about it untill it is needed (and probably stock turbo's removed anyway) anyways i supose if it works dont fix it EDIT: lol maybe thread hijack but i thought relavent
  23. yeah dont see why not have to drive past there anyway:) we'll have to sort out time later in week but about 3pm sunday i would have thought (hopefully earlyer) might get it in the morning tho depends on the dad (who's taking me) and martin who im getting it of.
