  1. also if anyone has an idea what would need doing i'd be grateful - I'm guessing I'm in for a hefty bill though In 2months it's needed a starter motor and whatever's wrong now, and I'm about to MOT it, all so I can then sell it! at least my concience will be happy knowing i've fixed any major issues before I sell!
  2. I would've when it failled? that said, I may well have, there was a lot of steam, however when I tried again it seemed to be seaping out of the rear of the engine, It looked like a pipe had split but now not so sure. Temperature rises quickly, I need to get it home today - only a 2 minute drive, will this be ok?? it wont hit the red in these two minutes, so I can have a better look.
  3. the thing is, there was no steam coming from either cap so even if it's the cause, I don't think it was what I was seeing? I hadn't checked coolant for well over a week though, so I have no idea how quickly this loss was.. It's so frustrating as I've had it for so little time and the only time it's started to play up is now
  4. two? one at the front and then another behind the fan further up the engine. first is a plastic flip off one with 'coolant' written on it, on what I thought was the expansion tank, but it's connected to the second which is a metal twist off cap
  5. avoid, its either a scam to send you junkloads of emails, or steal money from you when you turn up with 4k! plus the lack of pictures, brief discription, no tax/mot dates all spell fake to me! plus these scammers always go for traditional names eg 'george'
  6. I'm fully paid up now but on the downside, I have a problem! I recently bought a TT as shown on other thread, from someone on this forum, it was all well, but I'm having problems now! I need to sell on as I have to move out now, and will be buying an aerotop n/a in replacement, but today, the supra erupted in steam :'( Opened the bonnet, and a quick view showed steam pouring from the back of the block, I couldnt tell where from, and temperature sky rocketed, happened when stationary. I turned off immediatley, and moved it to a parking space. All coolant had gone - I had some in the car spare though so topped up.. I then went to drive home, and the temp rose again. Not as much steam as I wasnt driving for as long. There has been no other indication prior to this, no white engine smoke other than condensation on start up, no mayo in the oil from what I can see, no leaks any one have any ideas? It's my typical luck, had it since august, need to sell to move out and this happens!!! If it's a head gasket gone, I'll have to take it off the road till I have the money which I really want to avoid many thanks
  7. Well I hate to do it, but I need to sort out my old car! It needs an mot, tax, and general fixing up, as it's just sitting there rotting! so I'll have to insure it to cart it here and there for a month, as well as test drives! I cant afford to insure it AND the supe at the same time, so my question is, how long can the supra stand for? I'd have it in the garage generally - any advice on how to store it for a while? (for however long it takes to fix up and sell the coop) could potentially be a month or two.. I'd disconnect the battery etc but what would need draining? does it need to be jacked or on some axle stands? It'd get started up but not really a good drive etc or is this a bad idea? not selling it for the sake of potentially two months max! any info much appreciated as always!!
  8. well that sucks! if we change any errors, it's 'changing our story' or 'changing evidence!' lol
  9. I don't have any picvs of my gf with me, but she hates the supra!
  10. Maybe if it was just the outline and less shading or something? oh and if the tiger's face didn't look so unimpressed lol
  11. Do plasma's still have the issue with 'burning' images on the screen when they're still for too long, or was that rear projection screens?
  12. plus with only £80 for an extended warranty, its better value for money
  13. ah thanks, maybe it IS that then, I'll be off to halfrauds tomorrow then! I'll keep you posted!
  14. ah darn eet! I'll look into that next in that case! is it worth/are there alternatives to buying a used starter motor? I'm pretty confident that it's not the battery, as the car-pc shuts down when the voltage drops below a certain level (not entirley sure of the figures off hand) but it's all going fine still, keeping in standby etc, no dipping lights with the ice etc, of course that could all be irrelevant? Thanks again
  15. cheers, have tried this but no joy! any more advice? it's gotten worse, used to just be in mornings once in a while, but now almost every time today I've stopped before it's warmed up ( i think), it's not wanted to start first time need to go hammersmith now but not looking forward to it not starting. any help?? many thanks
  16. Orange supe, black bonet and black decal on the side modded, spoilerless, aftermarket intercooler, shiney alloys, tiny front licence plate etc. I parked opposite in my silver supe.. colour looked nice
  17. In my freinds rover coupe tubby, one of these kept neck and neck (but then both are 2litre turbo's I spose) but I outpaced one pretty quickly from a start down a dual carriage way in my tt.. I'd imagine they'd be sharp from a rolling start, it'd be interesting to know in gear times
  18. So is it physically holding a phone that gets punished? its just in theory other bluetooth kits still take your attention from the road when answering or making calls? not sure what their stance is on this..
  19. My supra over the past few days has been reluctant to start - I put to ignition 2, and all's normal, then when I try starting her up, it clicks as if the battery was dead (triple checked, all elecrics work, checked voltage of battery and it's normal, tried boost starting and nothing. Most days I leave it in position 2, and wait for a while, try again and it starts up. Alternatively, put it in 2, unlock with alarm and start and it works. Today it refused for half an hour, but when I tapped the central cover and tried starting again and it went first time - any help?? cheers!
  20. as in vicky or tiff? lol, I'd love to see the supra standard up against a porsche either modern or of the same age.. guess I'll have a dig on youtube!

    Hey all!

I'm suprised they insured me on it at all, buuuut its £3k large! and that's on a multicar policy (cars in my name, with me driving, but mums car, my old car and sister's car are also on the policy) I'm keeping it totally stock as it's already insanely fast considering my last car was a 1.6 mg tf! Bought it from benzsupra on this forum (cheers again ) I love the stock styling, so exterior will mainly stay as it is (very subtle mods perhaps), will mod the interior a little perhaps (although it has been already) annnd the only part that lets it down are the wheels - not sure if to get them refurbed, or to get new wheels (could be pricey for some nice wheels and then rubber on top of that? Some pics are below, and I'm gonna give the whole car a total detail this weekend

    Active Spoiler

sorry i didnt reply sooner, couldn't find this post after I'd written it! Well for some bizarre reason, it's started working when in position 2 (I must have had it on 1 when I tried first - thanks!) I'm yet to see it come on when moving, but then I guess I havent looked away from the road at speed(still getting used to the thing!) I'll double check later today thanks again:)

    Excel errors

could mean not enough virtual memory? quick way to check could be doing ctrl alt delete, and getting up the task manager, looking at the processes tab, and checking that there are no programs taking up silly amounts of memory by virus or by malfunctioning.. The number of worksheets possible is only limited by 'available memory'. Is the worksheet using any macro's?
