  1. I'm a freelance web developer and also own/maintain 15 or so websites on the side that bring in revenue through advertising.
  2. What is the condition of the standard front bumper? I presume the Bomex front is a replica - is it easy to fit? Looking forward to pics
  3. Thanks, yep I loved that car. Oh well I do have a new plate actually which is half the size of import waiting to go on
  4. What they have done already does look a lot better. Yes there are paint cracks and pressure marks all over the bottom and a few on the sides and top of the bumper also. To make it look good I think they would need to do the whole bumper really but they said they can do it on the car. I think I'll just pay them for what they have done so far then and hang on.
  5. Hi everyone Just looking some final advice/thoughts... My car is in the body shop and they have straightened out the bumper (pics attached). They just need the word to go ahead and sand/primer/paint it for £300. Should I do this, or hold out on the off chance for a spare bumper and then pay for this + delivery and then fitting? If I am going to get it repaired I need to buy some new top and bottom brackets in place of where the wood is at the moment. Are these easy to get hold of? Thanks
  6. Nope - just searched for him and will send a PM now - thanks for that
  7. Thanks for the advice everyone. I will wait patiently for a bumper to appear in the for sale section...
  8. Thanks for the link mate, I thought I had looked through all the for sale threads, must have missed this one. I did consider this too and have a wanted request thread open.
  9. A week or so ago I had the backend of the supra slip out a little in the wet and ended up doing a bit of damage to the front bumper. The thin part at the bottom is bent along with its black counterpart below it and there are pressure scratches etc all over the bumper. The undertray that is attached to the bumper has also had three of the holes pulled apart. I have had quotes from different bodyshops and had mixed opinions on price to fix, and what would be involved in repairing. One bodyshop said a new bumper would be required £250 plus labour came to about £600 total. Another company said it is repairable and could be bent back to shape with some heat and would look 'pretty much' as good as new. Doing this and re-painting would come to £350. Would be great to get some more opinions before I rush into trying to get it fixed in time for Japfest and possibly making a bad decision. I have also contemplated going through the insurance - thoughts?
  10. Bump! Debating whether to get the bumper removed/repaired and resprayed for £300
  11. Hi Lee, have you got any more of these in stock?
  12. All the more reason to blast past them and watch them fade into the distance
  13. Hello all I managed to have a little slide in the rain the other day and ended up doing a little damage to the front bumper (the bottom thin part is a bit bent out of shape). I have had some mixed opinions from various bodyshops, some say new bumper required, others say it can be heated up, moulded back to shape and resprayed. Just thought I would let you know on here that I am looking for a standard (or would consider various aftermarket) front bumper already sprayed in 199 silver as it may be cheaper than having repaired/resprayed. Thanks
  14. Is this for real? If so I would be tempted to buy a car like this just to pinch the wheels, exhaust, steering wheel etc then flog the rest in the parts section! 1992 though, that can't be right!
  15. Just collected my car which is running fine and the invoice is £440.14 (Labour = 198.41, Parts = 138.38 + VAT) and includes the following: Cambelt Kit Oil Filter Air Filter 6 Spark Plugs Work done: Carry out full service - change oil filter, air filter, spark plugs. Strip, clean and adjust brakes. Lubricate doors and door locks, door hinges. Check and adjust tyre pressure. Supply and fit cambelt kit. Pre MOT vehicle. Road test vehicle.
  16. No For a 'full service' including cam belt change
  17. Whifbitz would be great if I lived near London but it's quite a way to go (with someone to take me and bring me back too). I did look at a lot of other local places but everywhere (even the 'perfomance specialist') garages sounded incompetent and wanted £700+ I will wait and see how they get on, I just called them up to give advice on loosening the crank pulley bolt so thanks for that dnk and markssupra.
  18. Sorry I think he meant the accessory belt would go, not the crank pulley. He said it needs to be removed to get to the cam belt and they are held on with a substance that once taken off doesn't stay on as well. Does this make sense or sound like total garbage?
  19. This is what I have just been told anyway by my local garage. I booked my car in for a service here as they have a great reputation and a very competitive price (full service inc cambelt = £450). One of the staff said that his and another client's Supra crank pulley belt 'might go' after they have done the cam belt change. Does this sound correct? I don't really want a problem like this to crop up with Japfest in less than a month. One other thing that worried me slightly is the fact that one member of staff shouted 'is that the turbo? No it can't be - it hasn't got a bonnet scoop'. Oh dear what have I done.
  20. I used to have a stick on plate (below) which was the full UK number plate size on my last Supra and never got pulled over....well not with regards to the number plate anyway!
