  1. Grrr.. I am back to a hopefully again dudes... :( My car is STILL in the bleedin' garage (been there three weeks now) having the turbos sorted. Apparently there are 11 gaskets in the turbo assembly and guess how many they have for mine !!!! Yup, you guessed it.. They only have 10 They are calling round trying to get hold of one so all hope is not lost yet. Just nearly all hope Rob. PS.. If anyone has a 'front turbo exhaust side to downpipe' gasket in their pocket and they are near Bexleyheath, please come drop it in at my works :D Ta
  2. Hi All, The on going saga of my turbos continues..... I have just spoken to the garage dealing with my turbo problem and the have all received the oil feed return pipes from toyota. However, apparently there are 11 gaskets in the turbo assembly and they have one missing (typical!) which is the 'front turbo, exhaust side to downpipe'. These are apparently on back order and they are calling round places to see if anyone has one. Does anyone know a place near Dartford that might be worth a try ? I need the car back tomorrow to go to the SE Westerham meet on saturday Thanks for any help. Cheers, Rob.
  3. I used brasso on mine and they looked almost brand new when finished. If you are concerned that they maybe getting scrathed, you could use Silvo instead of Brasso which is less abrasive. Good luck. Rob.
  4. Thanks for the advice guys.. I was under the impression after speaking to them that the pipes, once taken off had to be replaced, like a gasket. ?! Maybe they were at fault which caused the turbos to naff up in the first place ?! Rob.
  5. My car is still in the garage having the turbos refurb'd (been 3 weeks now) and they tell me they are waiting for some oil feed return pipes from Toyota (whatever they are !). Apparently Toyota have none in the whole country (I find this hard to believe) and they are being ordered from abroad. As I really wanted the car back before the weekend, I asked if the turbos could be put back on and this return pipe fitted when they arrive, minimalising the time it takes to get the car back when they are in stock. They say that the turbos cannot go back on until the have the pipes from Toyota. Is this the case ? Thanks, Rob. PS.. Toyota are supposed to be getting the pipes in stock today but that could mean anything !!!
  6. Theres a few tips spead about if you search. The one that I used was to remove the headlights, remove all the clips, then one at a time, put them in the oven at a low temperature for a few mins. When they come out the sealant that hold the lenses to the front should be slightly melted and you are then able to prise the lenses off. Clean them up with Brasso or Silvo on the inside, put the lenses pack on, reheat in the oven and hey presto !! Clean lights.! Yes it is worrying, but it works. Rob.
  7. Hi Trig.. I'd pop along and take a look with ya if my Supe was working.. grr Does it seem like the immobiliser is still engaged ? If the keyfob isn't being recognised by the system, maybe as the battery was disconnected for a while you may have to re learn the fobs to the system. ?!? Just a wild guess Matt H.. Where are you Rob.
  8. Hi, I have aquired a MKIII Blitz BOV and was wondering if it is possible to use this on my MKIV ? I presume there is no way I could use the fitting kit that is with it, but was wondering if Blitz BOV fitting kits can be bought without the BOV itself ? Also, is there any difference between MKIV and MKIII BOVS ? Ta, Rob.
  9. I used to have this problem on my car. When i first had it, the heaters worked perfectly with car idling or at speed etc. After a coupla years I noticed that hot air would only come through when I was travelling at speed. This meant that when sitting in a jam on the motorway in the cold, I had to leave a big gap in front, then stick my foot down to get the heat up before waiting in the queue again Anyway. Its gone now and I didnt have to do anything. I just assumed that there was air in the system. Maybe just leave it and see if it goes Rob.
  10. Sounds good to me.. Aslong as I have my car back by then... The garage STILL have it and apparently they are waiting for an oil return pipe from Toyota who should have it on the 3rd December. Should be ok though. M25 Princes Road Esso then to the Shell sounds good tho Ta, Rob.
  11. Hi Trig... How bout Princes Road Esso garage ?? Keith.. You wanna meet up too mate ?? Rob.

  14. Do I need 2 gaskets ? One for connecting the two parts of the Nur together and another for connecting it to the existing system ? Does anyone know which gaskets these are or is there only one type ? Ta, Rob.
  15. Hi All, Quick question. Do you need any gaskets etc when fitting a Nur Spec ? Or is it just a bolt on jobby ? Ta, Rob.

    Hello All

Welcome to the board Tony. I live in Greenhithe so not too far away at all.. As for insurance I spoke to a company called A-Plan the other day and they quoted me about a grand (26 4yrs NCB) with nothing extra for having large alloys and a performance exhaust. They only insure imports too. Might be worth a try for you. Rob.
  17. Trig and anyone else that is coming from this direction wanna meet up for the trip down there ?? I should definately be coming now as getting my car back tomorrow (hopefully). My wallet will be £1300 lighter though.. boohoo ! Rob.
  18. hehey... Nice one dude... Bet you were buzzing after that.. !! Rob.
  19. Well the list sure is growing with 22 names down now.....! Its just dawned on me though that if all the maybes and pencilled in people in fact can't come, there will only be 8 people there :D Rob.
  20. Hi Jez. I had a similar problem with my headlights becoming dulled. This affects only the Jap Spec versions as they use plastic rather than glass in the UK Spec Supes. There is a process which I used involving removing the head lights, heating them in an oven (carefully ! ) then prising them apart and using some Silvo or Brasso on the inside of the lense. Worked a treat. Bit worrying though watching your headlights cook in the oven. As for the number plate issue I am not sure ? My J Spec came with no gap at all.. Do you have the black number plate surrounds either side of the rear number plate ? Rgds, Rob.
  21. haha. I know what you mean. Makes me laugh though when you drive past Iceland and that little roundabout bit just past the DHSS building on the right when they all stare at ya :D Muppets Rob.
  22. Ahh thats a relief then. What do you reckon the cost will be for removal / rebuild / refit of the turbos ? Thanks, Rob.
  23. Hi All, My car is in the garage at the moment after having some strange noises coming from the turbo area. After 5 days they have worked out that there is excess lateral play on the impeller and the bearings are worn, causing the blades to foul on the inside of the housing. Does this sound pretty disasterous or will a routine rebuild sort this out ? Thanks, Rob.
  24. Wheel looks nice mate. Is it a Momo Champion? I used to have one in another car of mine. Feels very nice! Ta, Rob.
