  1. Sounds pretty normal to me Seb with stock TC. I have had a few experiences while driving along the M25 where I put my foot down, like you did, and the back begins to shimmy. That was in a straight line also with a slightly damp road. Good fun tho isn't it Rob.
  2. haha.. I'll try the ole snapping technique first then. As I said earlier I gave em a good spray with some WD so they may even come off without snapping. I have a new set of bolts anyway so either way is fine by me Ta, Rob.
  3. Ahh, good idea bout the angle grinder.. Didn't think of that..! There is some kind of shield thingy where the cat pipe is (only a thin metal sheild). Couldn't see a way to take it off. Are there bolts for that too ? Thanks, Rob.
  4. I'll have a go tomorrow n let you know Trig.. Ta mate, Rob.
  5. Cheers mate.. I didn't think to try tightening them break the seal.. Failing that I spose I'll just have to get my big hammer out Ta, Rob.
  6. Cheers mate.. Didn't know that heating them up may help. That can be arranged easily though :D Ta, Rob.
  7. Hi All... Tried to take off my old Dragger zorst today and replace it with my new Nur, but the bolts on the exhaust are not budging n look a little rusty !!!! Any tips I can use to free them up a little ? I have given them a good spraying with WD40 (for what its worth) and will have another go at em tomorrow. Any tips/advice appreciated. Ta, Rob. PS.. I was going to get a garage to change them over, but every single one I called said they wouldn't do it. !!!
  8. Was going to go the hyrid route but nearing Chrimbo n needing the car back as its my only one, I just went for the refurb. The problem in the first place was the bearings in the first turbo getting knackered which caused, I presume, the shaft to spin off center. This caused blade and shaft damage where they scraped the inside of the compressor housing. Anyway, the car has been at SanSpeed in Bexleyheath who took the turbos off and sent them to a company called Turbo Dynamics. Seeing as both turbos were off anyway I asked them to check / refurb no.2 turbo aswell as I didn't want the same thing happening 3 months down the road !!! Cost for the refurb of both turbos was about £800.. Labour from the garage including engine flush, oil change, all gaskets etc etc is guna be round about 4 - 500, so a grand total of about £1200 - 1300. Not sure if thats expensive or cheap but I expected worse !! The main problem was waiting for gaskets n stuff where Toyota didnt have any in the country or Europe ! Grr Still.. Tomorrow (fingers crossed) I shall have it back Rgds, Rob.
  9. Cheers Gaz. As boost is stock it should be ok then. How long will I need to run them in for ? Ta, Rob.
  10. Hi All, This may sound like a dumb question, but..... I should be getting my car back from the garage tmrw after almost a month and a half with my turbos nicely refurbished. My question is, will I need to take it easy for a while (kinda running in period) or will they be good to go straight away ? I need some speed.!!! :D Ta, Rob.
  11. Lemme guess.. After seeing the results of the recent polls, your chopping it in for a J Spec ?? Rob.

    'Work' alloys

I think when you buy them new they supply some kind of huge spanner that undoes them. If you just can't get a grip on them with your hands, try the ole elastic band round them or marigold trick oo-er Rgds, Rob.
  13. Sorry to hear that Osso.. Still haven't got my car back yet and something will probably go wrong when I do ! I would have thought they'd be oblidged to replace it after only 2 months.!! As James says, a strongly worded letter and maybe threatening some bad press about them may help Failing that we could hold the next Supra meet at Newera imports and give them some serious stick Hope you get it sorted mate. Rgds, Rob.
  14. Stolen.. !! Gawd.. I'd say that depending on the type of place it is, they should be paying out for a new set of alloys. They can't seriously expect you to drive around with a different wheel on the car..! If they can get hold of the same wheel fair enough, but at the end of the day, it was their cock up that led to your wheel being nicked. Rgds, Rob.
  15. Is it a manual or an auto out of interest ? Rob.
  16. aww.. thought there was guna be no way you were gettin' it fixed, or I would have pulled myself out of bed and ended my hangover sooner damn.. Oh well. Glad you got it fixed mate. Have a good time Rob.
  17. Them wheels sure look odd.. I can't work out why theres soo much gap either side of them in the arch ? Nice engine bay and ICE install.. Shame about the vinyls..!!! Rob.
  18. Anyone know if it is possible to buy aftermarket replacements for the auto gear knob ? I've never seen any but I presume you must be able to get them from somewhere. ? Rgds, Rob.
  19. 7 months eh.. My longest without mine was 9 months !! That was when the police took it to investigate cars stolen from Japan and sold in the UK. Anyway, 9 months later and a few emails to the Met Commisioner of police and I get a phone call saying their investigations were in conclusive and I can come get it back (I was not impressed). Grr.. The garage have had mine for coming upto 4 weeks now (refurbing the turbs) and already I can feel that same anger brewing inside me :D Rob.:flame Dev
  20. Someone help him plz :D Rob.
  21. awww.. If I even had access to my car you coulda borrowed my fuse We'll have to deffo go to the next one then mate Rob. PS.. Thanks for the offer of the lift anywayz
  22. Good question !!.. My 'D' light has been blown since I bought the car 5 years ago.. Now you've posted this question I'll wait for the answer and might actually get round to fixing it :D Rob.
