  1. yeah, i spoke to the original chap who did it. He said the car actually started off as a test to see how easy it was to do.. He said once he had completed it he liked it so much and spent so long doing it, he decided to keep it instead of doing his other car. The car has had 3 complete bare metal restores in it's time. The owner told me after they had the mad spray job they were up cornwall at a big car meet (week) and the in thing to do was to have the car black with flames. So they went to the nearist shop and sprayed the car using spray cans and then stuck flames on teh side. Doh. They did it properly on returning. Crazy!
  2. shall i just keep it vauxhall corsa blue a it was... or change it for something else.... I think i shall set up a poll.... hang on.. How do i do that?
  3. Thanks Guys, hopefully it'll look good. We've sourced quite a few parts for it (Which has been a nightmare) and so far owe's us a lot more money that we first thought. We purchsed the car for £500, and we've spent about 1k on re-wiring the thing, another load of money getting it re-welded, more money getting it through the mot, all in all i think it owe's us about 4k, and we've not yet finished! . But hell.... It looks cool :-) How many people can say they own a chopped roof humber sceptre that has a lot of history with it :-)
  4. I'm quite scared at the idea of sanding down the car to the metal - as i'm pretty sure the paint's holding it together at the moment. But still, if i don't do it/try it now, i'm guessing it'll be worse off later. Any ideas the quickest way to get rid of the paint/primer down the bare metal? I was just going to sand it,but it's going to use a lot of sanding pads!
  5. Your good ;-) Not too keen on the "Barbie Pink" ;-)
  6. Can someone please photoshop my humber to show it in diferent colours? Hopefully we're getting it back this weekend and i'd like to start work on it ASAP so it'll be ready for le mans. Still haven't decided on a colour yet. Some people say black, i like it in the blue, or we could go for soething a little more wild? http://www.tripkings.co.uk/humber/large/0010.jpg http://www.tripkings.co.uk/humber/large/0100.jpg http://www.tripkings.co.uk/humber/large/0112.jpg Thanks Craig.
  7. This should work: http://www.tripkings.co.uk/humber/ If not - you may need the latest version of flash player ? Not much changed since the last photo's i'm affraid.. I'll get some more when we get it back from the garage, with the new bits on. Hopefully getting back on Sat :-)
  8. Forgot to mention the specs on the car: 0-60 is 4.2 seconds (some sites report 4 seconds) Top speed is 180mph+ All with No ABS or Traction control.
  9. Right, quick update on the car as there's not been one for a while. The steering column needed replacement as the steering wheel fell off. We purchased a pop off steering wheel and had that welded onto the column. The steering rack also needed replacement, but the one we purchased didn't fit, so we had to butcher it to make it fit. So now that is ok. Wiper's - we replaced the wiper internals with some from a robin reliant as they were the best fit. These now work but aren't exactly the fastest things in the world, so we may need to use something else, or a lot of RainX :-) Hopefully the car will be having it's MOT this week and we can start by stripping the car down to it's bare metal (as i've had a garage built now to put it in) The car IS going to Le Mans this year if i have to push it!
  10. http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/350020.htm Seems very cheap?
  11. They were in Smith's in ongar a few months back and i was on the table behind them :-) You see me for about 10 seconds lol - we'll, my back anyway.
  12. yeah, no problem, as long as it's not wet :-)
  13. Lol. thanks Paul. If i sell mine soon enough, i may be interested... I'm going out in the cerb today as the weather is stunning, and i'll get some moody pics of it :-)
  14. The cerbera is a great car, when the sun is out and the roads are dry, as it handles superbly and makes an awsome note when planting your right foot the floor. but it's not a car you can just jump in a go off on as an everyday car. Everytime i go out in it, i check the oil/water, i check it's not raining and not going to rain inthe near future, you then have to let it warm up (5-10mins) then get it out the garage etc, etc. I don't mean to put the car down, as it is superb, but it is an enthusiasts car that is more of a weekend car rather than an everyday driver if that makes sence. Do a search on youtube for cerbera and play the top gear review of it, that's quite interesting :-)
  15. prob up to 20k. but ideally looking around the 16 mark. I really like the ultima for 24k on pistonheads, but i think for the fact it's just so impractical and has no roof it would be a little silly! lol. The other problem is being 6"3,
  16. lol.. Everyone sais that about the colour, but its actually not that bad, i kind of like it now. It does change in different light. When the sun is on it, it's a pink with silver flick, and when it gets darker its more a deep purple. You don't buy the car for the colour...... You buy the car to drive it. I must say though, you can't drive this when your tired/not well/stressed, otherwise you will spin it off the road. It's a mad peice of kit :-)
  17. http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/350535.htm 0-60 in 4 seconds and 180+ in a car with No Abs or Traction control. Once again, i've decided to sell another car as i just haven't found anything to replace my old supra :-( So far i've tried an Evo, golf V5, Cerbera, BMW M5 and i still can't find anything that i actually enjoy as much as the supra. Test drove a 1989 Porsche carrera 2 and a lotus esprit charge cooled S4, but needed to hack off 1/2 my leg to get into the porsche and in the lotus, i can press all 3 peddles down with one foot, so thats out of the window. Any suggestions to any other car, or do i just buy a nice fast single turbo supra and go back to my roots?
  18. Cheap Car. I had an Evo after i got rid of my supra of 7 years. Wish i had kept the supra - Evo's are expensive to run/service. I had mine 2 weeks and stuck it up for sale as i just couldn't get use to the rear doors and family car thing. my evo - http://www.tripkings.co.uk/evo
  19. That car is gourgous. want a tvr? lol.

    Poker

I won £1200 once in a table game in vegas... That was my best victory. I had 99AAA and took out 4 poeple :-) although i only play for £5 normally each round my mate's house, as we play for fun mainly but feel you need something to play for, otherwise everyone goes in every other hand.
  21. I need some sort of audio in my garage/summerhouse. Originally i was looking for a cheap jukebox or something like that, but i think it was too much money. So i'm kind of stuck. I have an Ipod, but i would want to use some speakers. Any idea of a small/hideaway amp i could use with it? Or any other ideas? Thanks
  22. spotted you sitting behind the police car. I was in the rasberry cerbera playing with myself in the tunnel... I really should rephrase that!
  23. ;-) could well be... I've driven this car and it's really weird... They are like a normal car up to 6000revs, then all hell lets loose.. really quite cool.
