  1. Those 'very rare alloys' are lovely...
  2. Finally i've seen you sonic It seems every time i see one its not you! The other one looked pretty modified, quite hard to tell as the sun was blinding but i'm pretty sure it had a non standard spoiler, trd perhaps
  3. I expect a lot of you have clicked this one as its top of the list when you watch the other vid, but for those who haven't this is sammy trying to beat the record at santa pod in a different rocket car. This clip is quite interesting as you hear him talking about the run as well.
  4. I did think of this. Doing an 1/8 mile in 1.7 seconds would mean doing the 1/4 in ~3.4 (if he slowed down in proportion with the accelaration) therefore if he carried on accelarating to the 1/4 then surely this would have smashed the record And i agree with the guy who mentioned the corner at the end, risky! It looks like Zandvoort in holland to me, i think he is going the opposite way to race cars along the main straight. Edit: Plus, i'm not sure, but he might even be pulling the parachutes just before the finish line? Hard to make out which line marks the finish but if its the last one then this may be the case.
  5. I think that was done in a desert or salt plain or something like that. Apparently the friction of the material used on a proper drag strip is much higher than that or a desert or similar, therefore i believe they are not classed in the same category. I just cant imagine what going from 0-400 mph in 3 seconds feels like!
  6. No i think stevie wonder did
  7. Well i havent heard of a faster one anyway! This was a rocket powered dragster from the 80's. Here are some interesting facts: 0-60 - 0.2 seconds 0-100 - 0.3 seconds The driver (Sammy Miller) holds the all time fastest 1/4 mile run at...ready?...3.58 seconds! At a speed of 386 mph. I dont know of any footage of this run but i have found a video of him doing an 1/8 mile run ( ) in 1.7 seconds. P.S. Sorry if this is a repost but i did search Edit: Forgot to say that the name of the car, as Bob mentioned, is Vanishing Point Another interesting fact is that the car does 120 gallons to the mile
  8. 1st one was a dark grey colour heading along lee on solent seafront, i flashed and you waved. Second was a silver one down stoke road, i followed you for about 50 yards and beeped as you turned off
  9. I believe its around 7-8 secs if its standard. Save up and buy a tt and then youll do it in around 5
  10. ...and kind of won the world championship...
  11. I think thats VSOS's as well. A couple of people i know had this problem. Cold start up (usually when left over night) would puff for about 2 seconds. I think all you have to do is check your oil level regularly because obviously you are using a little bit up each time, but then if its only a small puff then the amount will be tiny. Incidently both the people who had them changed reported that the smoke disappeared on startup. I think if it was turbo seals then it puffs under boost.
  12. Oh well at least i dont feel like noob now that you've said that Can anyone enlighten us?
  13. Same skirts as scoboblio's http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/vbpicgallery.php?do=big&p=5487
  14. The scissor jack is what i'm using. Does the skirt not get in the way? (looks like i have the same skirts as you have in your avatar) EDIT: think i am seeing things as you dont appear to have skirts! They are just the standard, common ones
  15. This sort of came as common sense on my old cars but i wanted to take the wheels off earlier and wasn't sure where to put the jack. The skirts seem to get in the way and there seems to be a lot under there compared with my old escort! (no i didn't wear a cap). The manual says place the jack under the "rear diff something or other". Can anyone point me in the right direction with this please?
  16. I dont think it's NWS. There's no nudity anyway...
  17. I dont know what road it was (something like fitzherbert road) as i'm not from around there but you pulled out on to the dual carriageway, past the supermarket (Tesco's i think). I was about 10 cars back in my dads GT4
  18. It's late at night and andy's all alone in his bedroom
  19. Been reading a few threads regarding toyodatech just off newgate lane. Typed the post code in to google maps and it gave me palmerston drive off newgate lane so i went there to see what it was like but couldn't find it. Can anyone who's been there shed some light on how to find it? I turned into palmerston drive and went down 3 rows of units but couldnt see it Thanks in advance.
  20. And so the countdown begins until the women driver jokes... That really sucks. I hope she's gonna make it up to you
  21. It's great. I went through a phase of buying stuff cheap from certain places, then selling them on ebay for way more than i paid because they were getting it a bit cheaper than the "high street". There is a lot of money to be made (if you can be bothered with constantly sending and receiving goods in the post) but there is also a lot of money than can be lost.
