  1. Heights and going over bridges.
  2. Bumped as I updated my original post.
  3. Same here! It doesn't matter what time of day it is either, there's always someone dordling along. Thing is it's such a boring, undangerous road as well
  4. Also make sure your credit card is protected against fraud, although i think thats pretty standard in this day and age.
  5. I think you DO need it plugged in the phone line as my box started playing up recently so i rang sky and they asked if it was plugged in to the phone line (which i thought it was) and for some reason it wasn't connected (pulled out by mistake at some point i guess). She told me to plug it in and leave it for a while as updates would be sent along the box to try and fix it and sure enough it worked
  6. Seen loads but the highlight for me was metallica at wembley stadium in july
  7. I've got 18 inch wheels on the car so it sounds like that will pretty much negate the inaccurate speedo
  8. I cant believe the speedo can be so inaccurate! Hopefully mine is as inaccurate as yours! I assume all supras will be similar. Thanks for telling me that.
  9. Thanks for the replies guys. I've heard 3 points makes hardly any difference to insurance so im not really worried. But when you try and balance the books and work overtime to pay bills, things like this are not really needed lol. Nevermind, s**t happens. I'll update the thread when a) i receive the ticket or b) 14 days pass without a ticket (i take it the 14 day rule still stands?)
  10. Yep i drive slowly pretty much all the time as well. And who says the government aren't trying to make money out this...
  11. I was travelling down a 30mph road today, concentrating on the road ahead, other cars etc. and not staring at the speedo 100% of the time Before i knew it i had passed everyones favourite van that was literally hidden behind a wall so by the time i saw it i had passed it. I quickly checked my speedo and it was about 33mph. I vaguely remember the rules being 10% over plus 2mph which would mean 35mph is ok but is that still the case? And how accurate are supra speedos? 3 points isn't the end of the world but it makes me mad when i have to give the government even more money unnecessarily. Thanks for any advice. EDIT: It's been 4 weeks and I didn't receive anything
  12. TBH i think the low priced supras are low for a reason...
  13. Definately a future classic imo. Some low mileage, excellent condition cars have already started to gain value i believe.
  14. I had a head gasket go on my cruddy old escort and that was £700, mind you i needed pretty much a whole new engine as it killed all 16 valves can a supra head gasket death destroy its valves as well? If so i would imagine it would be approaching new engine prices
  15. I find that quite a fun thing to do if someone's up your arse, if you're on a single carriageway, is gradually slow down to see how much u can wind them up. I got down to a silly speed the other day and the look on the guys face was excellent
  16. I had this problem the other day and it turned out to be some dodgy wiring to the rear lights using scotch locks where someone had obviously done a bit of DIY. It was easily sorted. Foz also had this same problem and it turned out to be a dead relay box. Has to be either of those issues i reckon.
  17. Oh right, thanks for the piece of mind!
  18. When i start my car up in the morning (or 8 hours or so after using it last) the car idles at around 1700-1800rpm (depending on how cold it is, colder = more towards 1800 etc.) Seems a bit high to me but it's done it since i've had it which is over 6 months. I used to have a celica GT4 and that idled at 1600rpm on cold startup and did so for the year that i had it so didnt really think much of it. But i was talking about it with someone today and they seem amazed that it was so high at startup. Is it anything to worry about? Is there a fundamental issue that should be resolved? The rpm gradually falls for the next 5 mins or so at which point the idle seems to be around 650-700rpm when fully warmed up. Car is TT if that should make a difference, thanks in advance for any advice.

    Engine ""KABOOM""

Oh no not more willy waving. I think it would've sounded better if the original poster had just said "my engine died and i was going really fast". Quoting the actual speed (which i assume was on a gps and not the speedo?) isn't going to impress anyone, especially on a forum where a lot of the cars can do those speeds, and will probably just be detrimental to the chances of people wanting to help you. imo
  20. Thanks mate. Good luck with it! Adam
  21. I think more impressive (certainly in an auto) are things such as 30-80, its done in a flash!
  22. I think GZ has it as standard, was optional on RZ
  23. Bump. Just wondering what your resolution was, Foz? I got home last night and realised all my rear lights were not working yet all the other lights, including brakes, were working! I think its the same issue as yours.
  24. ...and yet he still leads the championship!
