Yeah Chris was the magnet for a 4x4 on a roundabout as a passenger in a newly built Subaru. He's got another couple of months out from Weston I think. I live in Kings Heath, and work in Tyseley right next to Ibrah's place, so right next to Hall Green as well really.. My current ride is this http://media.driftworks.com/Phil/Chaser2.jpg but you can find me punishing the streets in any number of cars from the Chaser, to my ae86 to a manual 735 .

The Garret is ball bearing, and seems to spool a few hundred RPM sooner than the comparitive journel bearing 'other' brand.
-
Haha Chill Winston! I'm just going off the description from Ryans thread. Consider me 00ber N00b . I genuinely thought it was a DAF turbo. So, you have a 'Precision GT4088 1.06' on a VVti 6 speed? Do you have a print out or anything that could help prepare me for what I've got myself in for?
-
Yeah I saw that. I was going to PM you about buying it for spares, but didn't want to offend you with a low offer when your probably still recoiling with misfortune . Thanks for the link, that's a good read. Has Jake not dyno'd his yet? It'd be cool to see how much I'm going to have to abuse the clutch to keep this thing in the power band

Closest info I found was from Ryan G (thanks ), but that's for a DAF 0.96 4088. So, does anyone have any first hand experience using the Garret 1.06 version? I'd love to see boost verses rpm dyno readout on a 2JZGTE.. Ryan G's info on the DAF 0.96 version: DAF (think) GT4088 | 0.96 (think) AR Housing (Jake) – Makes Full Boost (1.4bar) in 6th by 3780rpm and at 1.4bar @6000rpm is running 71% injector duty on precision 800cc injector (aeromotive fpr 38psi I think) (Air temps were 35c when logged) bit slower with spool than the DAF 0.81 gt4088 but flows alot more at top end. I remember jakes car pulled insanely after 5000rpm on my bum dyno . Looked the nicest too 800 / 71% = 568bhp @6k (estimate using a lambda of 0.8) Just to add at 6700 rpm the injector duty was at 74% cycle so this car should be around 590 bhp

Thanks B'have: I've just been to my unit to grab something, so weighed and measured these for you: Front 9" are 10.1kg each and Rear 10" are 10.7kg each. Brake clearance on the front's is an uberhuge 70mm's so it should clear pretty much anything as I thought .
-
Here they are on my Chaser in Japan, it should give you an idea of caliper clearance http://media.driftworks.com/Phil/Chaser1a.JPG
-
I'll weigh them first thing monday . I imagine that there is no wheel in the world with more brake clearance than these. They have a very very offset centre section, with pretty much straight spokes. I can measure the offset clearance on Monday also, but I'm pretty sure you could fit jumbo jet calipers under there

For sale: A set of four awesome gold Advan Model 6 wheels that came off my new Toyota Chaser. They are perfect Toyota widths and offsets: Rears 18x10ET45 and Fronts 18x9ET35 Rears http://media.driftworks.com/Phil/Model6rears.jpg Fronts http://media.driftworks.com/Phil/Model6fronts.jpg And here are some absolutely huge pictures of the wheels. I've left them this big so there is no question as to the condition of these wheels. Please check out the pictures thoroughly as they are in good condition with just a few tiny chips, and very minimal curbing. Wheel1 Wheel2 Wheel3 Wheel4 £800 collection from Birmingham. Thanks for looking

Some better pictures, and offsets would be good

lol what has this turned into? .. Regarding the wheels, I didn't say that it wouldn't handle like crap if you just slapped these wheels and tyres onto a Supra . Tyres that stretched are never going to be performance based. They were infact the biggest tyre I could get under the arches, and just there for the sneak peak pics of the car before it actually runs. As mentioned, once the car is running, it will run the correct camber, with smaller width and higher offset wheels I mearly asked why wide wheels automatically mean shit handling. I don't see many tramlines on race tracks, and if you have the arch clearance for the correct suspension alignment settings, and the correct tyres, then handling 'could' be improved I appologise, I happily stand corrected about the 275 on standard Supra wheels. I was under the impression they were 8" for some reason. 9.5" and 275 are of course a happy loveydovey couple . So I will happily get under myself now Now please continue banning/getting banned. It's much more fun .
-
I simply see them as interfering to be honest. But no matter, I guess you are welcome to your opinion, it just seems a little uneducated. I think it's quite laughable that you are presenting a handling biased argument, then go on to mention you run a 275 on a standard Supra wheel... Let's have a think about what ballooning a tyre does to handling.. Hmmmm, perhaps a little more testing and personal experience might be in order, before presenting your theories as fact in the future . Right. admin/mod can you delete this thread for me please. It's a bit of a shame really, but this is obviously not the place to sell these wheels .
-
Thanks for the help with the sale Why the hell do you need to change suspension components? Wider bodywork yes, that is easy. Destroying your handling? That old chestnut eh! Would somebody care to enlighten me as to where you guys get this idea from? How do supercars handle so well with massive wheels? It's all about how you set a car up. I get the impression there's a little to much theoryfact going on here .
-
Yep negative camber, and it is a widebody Vertex Ridge kit, +50mm arches both sides. I'll get them to fit on my Aristo the same way I have with all my other cars with stupid wheels. With a fucking big hammer S13 200sx, standard arches + 18x13" ET -10. Now there was a car that handled like crap http://www.philmorrison.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/S13wide.jpg http://www.philmorrison.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/S134.jpg

Yeah, although they are the correct pcd, I wouldn't have thought that they would fit under standard arches, but how far off is it? Whats the maximum size and offset anyone has fitted to a Supra with rolled arches? Most people in the UK are scared of fitting big wheels to their cars. But it's not about fitting the wheels to a car, it's about fitting the car to the wheels If I don't sell these, I'll be making them fit on my JZS161 Aristo . Now that's a challenge

Yep . The sweetest wheels on the planet are officially for sale!! Work Bersaglio Super VIP rims. 10x19 front with -13 offset 12x19 rear with 0 offset. Of course: 5x114.3 fitment. These are my own personal wheels. I just lent the to the Driftworks S15 for the initial press release, as we had nothing else at the time. We'll be running 18's on it once it's complete for competition. I paid a hell of alot of money to have these refurbished. The rims are now mint, no curbing at all, and a real deep shine to them. The centres are chromed, so I couldn't do to much polishing or it would have gone through. They are still really nice, and super super shiny, with just a few tiny tiny bubbles in the chrome. The inside of each spoke has been painstakingly painted with Hammerite smooth black to give them that fantastic look. The paint has reacted slightly on a few of the bubbles, but you have to get up really close to notice even the slightest flaw in them. For all intents and purposes, unless you are climbing into the dish to have a look, THESE ARE MINT! They haven't been over 2 mile an hour since the refurb as the S15 hasn't run yet 3 options: 1: Wheels only: £1200 2: Wheels with a pair of brand spanking new 235/30/19 Federal 595SS tyres. These still have the stickers on them, and are fitted onto the front pair of wheels. They are the perfect stretch IMO. Not to much and not to little: £1400 3: Wheels with brand new Federal front tyres, and very slightly part worn 275/35/19 Pilot sport (loads of tread, nearly new) £1500. Please don't ask me if they will fit your car, only you will know that as it all depends on tyre width and profile, and what camber you run, etc http://media.driftworks.com/S15/DriftworksS15.jpg http://media.driftworks.com/S15/S15Decals1.jpg http://media.driftworks.com/S15/S15Decals2.jpg http://media.driftworks.com/S15/S15Decals3.jpg http://media.driftworks.com/S15/S15Decals4.jpg http://media.driftworks.com/S15/S15Decals5.jpg http://media.driftworks.com/S15/S15Decals6.jpg http://media.driftworks.com/S15/S15Decals9.jpg http://media.driftworks.com/S15/S15Decals11.jpg

I drive pretty mental cars like an idiot on track quite often, but the closest I've ever come to crashing a car was at 60mph on a motorway in my Aristo when hitting standing water. Sorry to hear about your misfortune. Please let me know what your looking for for the complete car .

Thanks Gaz. It's a bit more serious than I thought. I whipped the head off and the f**cking bores are rusted . I'm sure I'll be giving you a ring on Monday -
I've just had a butchers at the 2JZGTE we're about to put in the S15, and everything is not as I would like it to be. I'll be ringing around on Monday, but in the mean time if anyone knows of where to get these on a next day delivery in the UK, that would be great
