No not so daft Chris- and wish that it was that simple! The Jap spec rears have pads with two small holes in which the springs fit to bounce them apart - not sure how the UK spec works in that respect. Have keft the disc pack in the garage but all seemed to fit Reading the past posts I think it will be a sticky piston (Oo-er missus!) well I hope! How easy to fix please? Paul
-
100 mph - what kind of a driver do you take me for? - that's aginst the law! The brakes are OK - anyway with the front doing the majority of work - cant really tell about the rears They may well be seizing open - hence taking them apart - but this looks dfficult! Gulp! Paul:cool:
-
No not brand new - what part could be sticking apart from the pistons? But they did close up well - and seemed to be loose enough There is no 'spring' to force the pads apart as with some other makes! Paul:cool:
-
Starts off with no grind and then soon as brakes used grind starts and remains there. I thought it might be part of the heat shield left - but def brakes. Do you know where the spec is for the toyota brake pad? Will have to remove piston rings etc and clean them out - cant think of why else they are not coming off the disc Paul:cool:

Ok guys - please can someone tell me what might be wrong? Have fitted the UK spec rear brakes - all seems to be Ok - but horrible grinding noise from the brakes when driving. Cant see what else to adjust - it seems that the pads are not coming apart? They are Greenstuffs - have bled twice and peddle firm - braking is fine Have checked out the manual under mkiv.com - cant see anything else thst might be amiss Anyone had this problem - could the pads just be too thick? Cheers Paul E:flame Dev ie. not cool

Ah - that will be Adam (nee Mark) - currently undergoing psychiatric tests having been stopped by plod shouting - 'The bells...the bells...!' and...Craig's having problems getting over the hump...! oh dear - time for my pills:zzz: Paul:cool:
-
Adam / Mark Any luck with running this test? Cheers Paul:cool:
-
Simon Would give Mark a call on above - even if you dont buy the thing he will normally tell you what needs doing in laymans terms (if - like me - you are certain that the circular thing turns the wheels - and all else gets a bit technical) Of course others on the BBS will know - but depends on complexity of answer you receive!! Cheers Paul:cool:

I'm just the messenger - but I would have thought sounds Ok for a piece of kit costing £2500 new Anyway - £200 sounds about £300 worth of better news! Paul:cool:

Guys Previous petrol / fumes smell that I suffered from seems to have been traced to the rear of the machine when just switched off Not there when engine cold - no sign of leeks from the underside - or engine bay and lasts about 30 secs only once stopped and switched off Think it might be from residue left in exhaust due to overfuelling? Recently had downpipe and new exhaust fitted - and re-torqued this just to check if a leak Could this be a prob with the lambda? Tried following the last thread about where this is with Mycroft et al giving it loads of handbags at dawn (bloody silly if you ask me) No mis-firing though - and purrs along quite nicely whether hot or cold OK Inspector Closseau's to the fore Cheers Paul Going mad

Sorry m8 - didn't make myself clear - any chance of providing both diffuser and detector and packaging the price? Cheers Paul:cool:
-
BradB - Whoa there boy! Which snooper you got - the S5? And why a pony (hence the 'whoa there boy' - geddit?...ah well - guess you had to be there) May well be interested - please give me first refusal! Matt - def interested in the diffuser - can you package it in with the Bell or S5 (assuming we can get a trial) How will you do that by the way? Anyone seen any publications with articles? Cheers Paul:cool:
-
Seem to be a very good deal offering combinations of Snooper and diffusers available But who has which one and does anyone recommend? Cheers Paul:cool:
-
Guys Need to get something to warn me of radar and Gatso's following last week's brush with plod (just waiting for the letter to drop through the door) Whats best to get Snooper S5? Beltronics Euro (which model?) Others? All info appreciated Cheers Paul

Mmmm...well I cannot find one single negative on the net - searched for 2 hours though 3 search engines using every combination of Hispec / Brakes / and Lesbian Lovers (oops strike the last one)!! Sad or what! Mind you they didn't have much on brakes in 'www.Teen Vixens' either LOL Also found some excellent write up's from some Lotus drivers on their quality. I am aware that cross drilled etc can be liable to cracking - but got such a good deal on these black diamonds that thought to take the chance. And they came with red stuff fronts and green rears and hoses! But quite honestly guys I am not going track days and whilst not quite 'driving Miss daisy'- I just want to stop the car quicker than my jap specs. These are very well priced - the company seem like good old fashioned engineers who care about their products - and the brakes will be custom fit to the car! Still open to any input however:thumbs: Cheers Paul:cool:
-
Only looking for callipers as have a set of cross drilled black diamonds UK size already Have mailed you off-list Cheers Paul:cool:
-
Agree entirely for the need for top notch brakes - hence not happy with my Jap specs Looking at a six pot calliper from them - and can only find comment from one disgruntled customer about getting his brakes on time! (and believe me - I'm in catering so wish I had a quid for every pain in the arse etc etc...) The piston make and sizes marry those from larger companies / production quality is excellent / materials are same and high spec / and they look good / off the peg red/green stuffs fit - unfortunately (like everything else) really looking for hard fact of useage Thanks anyway - will let you know if I decide to go with them Cheers Paul
-
Thanks Guys - but really wanted something from anyone who has them fitted - with some experience of use Of course they dont cost as much as AP/Brembo's etc (thats why I'm looking at them) and I wish that stock UK would fit under the alloys! Terry - where did you search on the net please - service or products a problem? Cheers Paul:cool:

Lee Excellent M8 - Very interested in hearing the noise that your BOV is making! Apart from Boost readings has it improved performance? If not at Billing - you around next Friday? Cheers Paul

(previously wrongly posted under 'for sale' section Just wanted to check if anyone has any info on the quality of work and products from this company. Based in Dartford Anyone had theirs fitted from HiSpec? Objective opinions please - wouldn't expect anything else naturally! Many thanks Paul:cool:
-
Please - Can anyone tell me what the Blitz retail for? Also - where best to look at the S and R models on the net? One day I want to be in the situ of needing one (ok wanting one!) due to the power increase:p Cheers Paul:cool:

'kin 'ell guys Give it a rest - my eyes are going all fuzzy trying to understand the insults! So as far as I can understand it ... nah...I dont! So it's a choice of yellow or green handbags from 10 yards - no scatching or biting or pulling of perms LOL Now just dont start on me - I'm a newbie (says so after my name) - and I dont understand F*** all about ceramics or nowt or who Leon is!! Paul:cool:
