  1. So what do you think is best to monitor the amounts of boost that you achieve - manual gauge or electonic? paul:cool:
  2. Shouldn't there be a car or something attached to that? Just asking like... LOL Paul:cool:
  3. I have them - and they appear to be,...well...discs really! I notice a more noticable 'strumming' sound under high braking(not a bad noise) as the pads go over the grooves (I assume) Many will say there is no need for drilled and grooved and it actually weakens the disc Whichever you have - good discs + crap pads = crap braking (hence the reason for my search for good pads) Cheers Paul:cool:
  4. Mark Any details on where to get them? These red stuffs are really doing my head in! Cheers Paul:cool:
  5. Raoul - that Bracknell over West? Let me know how you get on - are yours split rims? Cheers Paul:cool:
  6. Anyone contacting them? Worth mentioning a club discount / volume discount etc.? Cheers Paul:cool:
  7. Mark Can you post up those pics and any details on contacts - must get mine done Cheers Paul:cool:
  8. Adam Not sure it's worth anything - but the NZealand site has a few notes on blown turbo's and suggests that actuators (?) may give same symptoms? May be worth checking the site out? Hope that it's not as bad as you fear! Cheers Paul:cool:
  9. No I insist ... you just come right out with it Adam... Stop bottling it all up m8 - for God's sake say what u mean! Paul:cool:
  10. Just got my new brakes on - and have red stuffs fitted! If I may make an observation CRAP! They are just not up to it (IMHO) - tons of break dust and a real falling off in power when hot - they are also blue-ing my cross drilled and grooved discs slightly (they are getting too hot) Initial bite is good though They also take a while to heat up from start Mintex - bit squealy The suggested pad are Ferrodo's (2000 or 3000?) Paul Whiffin loves his Porters But I am not impressed - and this from a man who was greenstuff positive on my last car Paul
  11. Blimey m8 - whoa there! Not smokin' - thank God! Just time for an oil change @ 5000 miles Paul:cool:
  12. Branners - Is that the semi 10-40? Cheers Paul:cool:
  13. OK Guys Have read the threads - tried to understand the logic / science and failed miserably (crashed and burned!) It's time for an oil change - and I'm gonna put through some engine flush (don't know if it's been done before - but not since I have had it) Which oil shall I put in? It gets quite a bit of use - fast road only To date it has had semi-synth 10-40 magnatex Shall it be fully synth 0-50 / 10-50 or shall I just clean through and replace with same Sorry if repeating elements of the other thread going - but lost the plot for now Also - resisted the chance to buy any Halfrauds stuff - made by Esso - any comments? Cheers Paul:cool:
  14. Oo-er missus - what a long list you've got! So no real choice to make really Mine's got a hole in the roof to let the rain in! Those aren't available in the UK (except the rain that is!) And the diff in cost of purchase is...? Paul:cool:
  15. I know - I'm sorry...truly I am...Sob! Daily mantra - Every day...in every way...I'm getting better and better! Every day...etc etc Paul:cool:
  16. I had no problem with taking on a Jap spec - as I only wanted an Aero - and had previously owned an FTO (I know, I know!) The myth about parts etc is bull - put about by the anti-import lobby The only reasons for the UK spec over the Jap - Insurance, Insurance, Insurance! Oh - and the brakes (although this depends on your alloys only) Paul
  17. LOL - Nice one Randy! Glad you have sorted the det - is there a piccy of the wheels you are looking at? 315's - bloody 'ell - this gonna look like a tank or what? What about putting 19's on the rear? Paul:cool:
  18. Points made - nuff said Have a good Sunday y'all! Paul:cool:
  19. Sorry - but I have to take issue with your comment too Terry - you are being far too judgemental and patronising There is no need for this kind of response on a friendly BBS Keep them to yourself! Sorry - but as a newbie - this does get me mad - because it's very detrimental to newcomers feeling welcome Paul Good night John-boy
  20. What you say may be valid - but this is up to Randy - and your comments will now flame bad feeling and result in backwards and forward responses - as this has happened before from various sources! For what reason? Just chill bro'!! Dont get frustrated! Be cool - be nice! Anyone seen my Prozac? Paul PS It's a nice and hot one out there!
  21. Gavin I have to say that your response to the question is a little over the top - to ask 'are you taking the piss' could lead to people miscontruing the tone and content of your comment I have seen this happen quite a few times now from various people on this forum and believe that it can lead to bad feeling and intimidation to a few who may be nervous about appearing naive - and asking questions from those who have undoubted expertise - including yourself However - my subjective view of your question - perfornance - but check your insurance ramifications Paul:cool:
  22. And pratt prize of the week goes to ME! In the end took them round to Hi-spec to check out my work Problem was caused by the braided hoses catching on the inner wheel arches cus they were not far enough around - DOH!!!! Caught them just in time - before went through metal and burst rubber inner! Refitted whole set up and ran as you suggested Chris - bingo - result! Thanks for input - mucho lesson learned Paul
  23. I got 265/35/18 (rear) and 245/40/18 on an ACE 8.5 with no problems with handline - but this is prob the max Go for the 18's my friend - bypass these woosie 17's altogether!! You have to change your tyres anyway - and I cant see Micheldever selling you crap - but check them out first. What car were they on before? You will need a min of 55mm offset (If I recall) for the Toyota UK spec brakes - but stay tuned - I am running in my Hi-Spec ones now that need only 40/45mm Paul:cool:
  24. No offense taken in the slightest m8 - you have forgotten more than I have ever known about the horseless carraige! Will do exactly what you suggested on my m8's ramp Cheers Paul
  25. Hey brill - I didnt know that! Must try it tommorow! Paul:cool:
