  1. Would you say that Halfords 10/40 fully synthetic and there stock oil filter is good enough for a 3ltr TT stock
  2. I am now a paid up member , and WELL WORTH IT thanks again:) :p :)
  3. hi John I am pretty sure that this pipe was cut into for the boost guage, I have now blocked off the extra pipe, therefore there is a straight connection from top to bottom with the pipe coming off the t junction blocked. I have also manage to look at a 1993 TT (mine a prefacelift 1996) that just has a single pipe from top to bottom so I am fairly satisfied that it is as it should be now
  4. Hi Jon this is the pipe in question on the same side as the diadnostic plug just a couple of inches nearer the front of the car, thts the pipe which had the t cut in , I have now blocked the t cut pipe off , so the suction is uninterupted from top to bottom. So what is thar pipe for , next to the diagnostic button as shown in my photo ????
  5. Hey, I think all you guys out there are absolutley brilliant, you take the care to answer ignoramoses like me with my daft questions, but its so important to the likes of ME who dont know a supra from planet mars, now then, if you need to know about a Vectra 2ltr sri Im you man. I wish you lived next door to me BEST TENNER EVER SPENT:) :) :) To be fair , does any one know a supra guru/expert near stoke-on-trent staffs, I have visited a couple of so called experts who have not got a clue , Really........ anyway thanks very much, all my issue was that this pipe had been cut into , I dont think anything else has been affected , I just needed to know if blocking off that cut in pipe was the right thing to do, I may get it changed tomorrow to take the t junction out,so do u think that will be okay now than, I just need the reassurance Incidently there is a company / tuner near me called turbo systems at Chesterton/Talke anyone know anything about them ??/ thanks again to you guys, u know who u are Mark
  6. right , but should there just be one pipe leading from the top to the bottom, it then may go else where, all I really need to know for now ir should there just be one pipe leading from the turbo sensor at the top to the connection at the bottom with no further t junctions in the particular pipe, cheers Mark
  7. do you think it would be better to renew the pipe so there is one continuous pipe leading from the top to the bottom connection ?? thank in anticipation for your help as Im brickin it now
  8. so do u think its okay, to simlify, the pipe from the top connection leads down and is connected further down okay, all that happened is a T junction has been cut in and another pipe added which had been left open and sucking air, I have now put a bolt in the pipe and blocked it off , so in effect doesnt exist Is this going to be alright like this??
  9. should that pipe have a t junction a standard ?? the actual pipe is fully connected further down it just the pipe which is connected at the t junction which is blocked off, the question really is should the turbo senser pipe on be connected to one other outley ??? please help getting worried now
  10. the pipe coming from the turbo pressure sensor at the top is connected further down okay, its just that it looks like a t connection has been made in the pipe to maybe put a boost guage on or something, I heard a sissing noise and that pipe which was cut in wasnt connect, only just got the car so I assumed a previous owner had dissconnected something after market
  11. this is a photo of the t junction, just left of the diagnostic box. The pipe coming off the t is now blocked off is that ok or should it go some where, I was under the impression a boost guage was attached at this junction HELP please
  12. I have serched for VRS on Google etc including the link above, all I ever get is something linked to Skoda, these definatley have nuthin to do with Skoda lol all I am after is the stick on alloy /plastic flat discs about 2 " across
  13. well the centre caps on now say VRS but ive never heard of them have you, there 18" deeeeep dish polished alloy, look good. I dont expect to get those though, d are ther any TRD replicas out there ?
  14. anyone know where I can get some decent centre caps from for my alloys, lost one today so it looks pants....?? Some nice TRD or something would be good, checked the traders on here but they havnt got any. Ebay hasnt got anything too good either
  15. I was looking under the bonnet and came across a rubber pipe that was not connected to anything, this pipe was "sucking air" it was t-junctioned to another pipe, the pipe in question was -looking at the engine from in front of the car , the left hand side there is a pipe coming down from the top , near the diagostics plug thingy, I now believe this to be the turbo pressure sensor. So I think this is where a previous owner had a turbo boost guage connected. I have now blocked that pipe off so its no long sucking air. Does anyone know what the consequences would have been if it had been left sucking air ??? it was also causing the engine to rev too high on idle am I correct in thinking this is where a turbo boost guage is connected from?
  16. quite pleased the cd is now working, its not the most powerfull of systems but its all neat and matches the dash lights etc, gud Go:rolleyes: d that sounds sad, I am beginning to sound like my mother
  17. THANKS very much for the info , I would NEVER have got the front spoiler sorted, it works fine when you know how :) Wonder why it can not be put down manually with the engine running ?????? :search: yet again thankyou for all your help.
  18. just about to rip the ce/radio tape out , thought one last go, put a cd in and it played , tried it again and again and it works brill. Strange but true. :)
  19. just got in from the garage, one worry sorted another found. the turbos are just fine , but now I need my ears testing as the whistle was there all the time, it my age you know. thanks for the help, i have now posted another query , may you can help with this one. mark
  20. rayman and fifty and the rest who took the time to answer BIG thanks again for the comments and advise well appreciated Mark ps will let you all know the outcome sooooooon:blink:
  21. a 2ltr vectra sri got to go out with the mrs now thanks again for the help Mark
  22. Rayman thank for your help and you patience much appreciated, just hope all is well as it could be an expensive job. I suppose if the roads are dryish 2morrow I could try a 0-60 time and if its 6 secs or below both turbos are working, would you say that would be a reasonable test ??
  23. excuse my ignorance , re the boost guage. with one fitted would it go so far up the guage on the first turbo then go higher as the next turbo kicks in? 1 - 5 the 5 - 10 kinda thing?
  24. hi again m8, just been outside again, had the bonnet up , if I hit the accelerator hard and release at just under 3k revs I can hear the stock bov, a obvious hiss, is this going to be the first turbo or the second turbo. Re the power , since Ive had it all its done is throw it down so I have not been able to do a really fast start, although I did have the back end twich out on a round about on very moderate throttle. It seemed to go pretty well but ive never driven or been in a tt before so have nothing to compare it to without the first turbo would it be REALLY sluggish?
