  1. Oh, then he'll have to get back probing with 2 paperclips?!?
  2. Moist, test it first. There's a recent thread on how to do it. You'll soon see if its shot just by checking the correct pins on the diagnostic plug under the bonnet.
  3. The one on the left.... definately. Oh yeah BABY!

    Sad news

A sad day. Supra driver was killed when Sup hit a lamp post in Brighton a couple of weeks back. Anyway, here's something to cheer you up: http://media.putfile.com/Police-stupid
  14. john, as per PM m8. As they say on Blind Date... The choice is yours!
  15. No, I posted 9 minutes ago.... or maybe my minutes are different to yours?
  16. Class one... on nights were we?
  17. Jake, the person has to nominate a police station to take it to within 7 days, so a simple phone call on day 8 usually works. If they haven't taken it to the nominated station but some other one on the outher side of the country... well, its up to them to prove in court & tell the mag why they didn'ty go to the one they said.
  18. No MOT is a minor traffic matter, especially if its only just lapsed a day or two before. If it does go to a hypothetical magistrate he/she'd be a co*k to throw a big penalty your way. However, fail to produce is serious sh1t & can lead to disqualification, especially if taken into consideration with other offences (no MOT for example?). Don't blag it, its not worth it. You won't pass under the radar as if its on a ticket its likely the local ticket office has it on the system waiting for the fine & the HORT2 (the form that's filled in with your document details when you turn up) to come back, otherwise its a NIP in the post m8. If it was just a producer, possibly could slip through the radar as its the PC's responsibility to keep a check on when the HORT2 comes back, but in all honsety most are pretty hot on this. Good hypothetical luck!

    Petrol

Article in Banzai Jap mag tested fuels on a dyno a couple of months ago, think it was on a Skyline engine? Anyway, the results were: Max Power: Optimax 2nd: BP Ultimate 3rd: Tesco 99 RON The difference between the top 2 wasn't much, but Tesco's just showed it was a cheap 95 RON with some more additives splashed in for luck. Optimax for me, every time. The knock sensors love it!

    oil advice

I use Amsoil 10W/40 in the engine and Amsoil fully synth ATF in the auto box. The ATF is good for high temperature, high load abuse without turning brown & giving off that crappy burnt smell. Good oil, V high spec. Works well. If I was going to push the engine harder I'd consider going thicker to 15W/50 as others do, but I drive it like an old man (most of the time ).
  21. Lets finally get this cleared up. Search google for SAE 900154 and you'll see it refers to some testing done on a product called Ferrocene, an iron compound that CAN be used as a lead replacement for anti-knock properties. Wikopedia says: "Fuel additives Ferrocene and its derivatives are anti-knock agents used in the fuel for petrol engines, they are considered to be safer than tetraalkyl lead additives. It is possible to buy at Halfords a petrol additive solution which contains ferrocene which can be added to unleaded petrol to enable it to be used in vintage cars which were designed to run on leaded petrol. For details of ferrocene as an antiknocking agent see United States Patent 4104036. Sadly the iron containing deposites formed from ferrocene can form a conductive coating on the sparkplug surfaces leading to sparkplug failure. Also in diesel fuel ferrocene redcues the production of soot by the engine." It has also bee used as a fuel addtive in diesel engines to lower the temperature of Diesel Particulate Filter light off. So, its a lead replacement additive you can buy at Halfords, and something that makes diesel sootburn at a lower temperature..... Hardly what we need in a Supra?
  22. What? Where it says "MPG Boost TM" clearly overtyped on an old SAE graph? Dodgy!

    dead body

Hmm, not really. Just his way of dealing with it. We all do it differently, and I agree its the family & friends that need to greive the most. Its not every day you see a dead body, unless you work in certain professions.

    dead body

First one's always the worst, especially the messy ones. After a few you realise you got to detach yourself from it or it could end up screwing you up. If you keep having flashbacks or dreaming about it for more than a week, start drinking more (and I mean a lot more), have trouble sleeping, are continuously irritated then you may have Critical Incident Stress. Let your loved ones know how you're feeling & they'll keep an eye on you. You don't always know when you've got CIS. A friend found Dr David Kelly (Hutton Report, Weapons of Mass Destruction etc) after he'd killed himself, she was pretty shook up. Take it easy, chill & remind yourself it wasn't anything to do with you & there's nothing you could have done. Steve
  25. Isn't she the one that sang "You came"? Takes me back... Ah, the good old days!
