  2. Apologies for bringing up an old thread, but I figured this had been discussed once or twice before I may have a new record - BP Ultimate £1.28 a litre near me. On the plus side, as it was my first proper drive of the year, I did find a 3 month old open packet of extra strong mints and 23 pence in coppers that I think were found by Jody when my car was at Interpro last year. So all in all, I'm a few bob down but its not all bad news!
  3. Absolutely sickening Whoever did that is pure scum
  4. 21. Harps (2 tickets, 1 club stand pass) Will pay through paypal tonight. Went last year and had an excellent day. Only downside was I missed the drifting due to being stood in a que for a burger. In my defence we didn't get a programme!
  5. Starting playing online properly over the past few days and it is excellent I didn't like it the first time I played it, but it was a big server on a small map. Seems about 10 per team is the best for the maps available.
  6. Played through single player twice now on PC, I can't remember the last game I enjoyed so much that it made me play it again after completion (usually I give up and get bored half way through the first time). Tried my hand at online playing last night, and had a lot more fun than the first time I tried it. Think I'm up to Sergeant or so, so I'm getting some decent unlockables. Great game, best I've played this year without a doubt.

    Guitar Advise

Cheers guys Went out shopping today and managed to find a dream of a guitar. After trying out a couple of Strats (unfortunately the US one's were well out of my price range), a couple of Jacksons, a SG and a Flying V jobbie (that felt a bit odd), I had a try on this baby: http://img218.imageshack.us/img218/2087/s320wk1m01fe1.gif It was fantastic, felt good, surprisingly light but still had a great sound. Also bought a Roland Micro Cube and I'm amazed something so small has so much power for a tiny amp, plus a silly amount of features. Definitely worth having a look at. Whats surprised me is that with a bit of reminding from tab sites, I can do the chords fine, but my right hand has seemingly lost all timing and seems to flap about completely out of time with what I should be playing. Plus, my fingers hurt Its great!

    Guitar Advise

I know there's a few guitarists amongst us, and thought I'd ask a bit of advice. I used to be very into playing the ol' axe, but I gave up about 10 years ago. I keep itching to get back into it, and as I've just had a bonus from work I figured I'd spend it on a new guitar. Back when I was learning, I played on a few expensive guitars that seemed to be much easier to play than what I had, so I'm looking for a fairly decent guitar. Probably about £400-£500. I always loved the Strat shape, so I'd be considering something like that. After searching around the 'net, there's bloody loads of em. So far I've considered: Fender 70's replica Strat (I think made by Fender Mexico) Gibson SG GT (not a strat look, but stunning. Shame its about £700 too expensive!!) Maverick F-1 But there's so many different makes - which are worth looking at? I really like the look of the Maverick, but looking at their homepage it seems they're out of business?
  9. I'd highly recommend the Canon G9. Even though it isn't an SLR its pretty damn close. I've just bought one for the days that I can't be bothered with carrying around the 350D plus lenses, which can be a chore & very expensive, and it can do more or less as much as the SLR (other than being limited to the lense). My boss is a professional photographer and he raves about it. You can buy other lenses for it - at least a wide-angle that he has (though it does obscure the viewfinder when its attached). If it wasn't for the idiots at City-Link I'd be messing with mine now. Fingers crossed it turns up tomorrow! Anyway, linky for you. Available at Amazon for about £294. http://www.canon.co.uk/For_Home/Product_Finder/Cameras/Digital_Camera/PowerShot/PowerShot_G9/index.asp
  10. The Crowing Cock in Trowbridge used to regularly be re-named the Growing Cock. Happy days! I used to pass a cafe in Cardiff that made me smile: The Warm As Toast Cafe
  11. I've just bought a Wii myself, and can hardly believe how much fun it is! Picked up Rayman yesterday and found myself grinning at the screen trying to tap the controllers in time with the music. The only downside is I bought the game as a party game and it looks like i need to go through it on single player to unlock all the mini-games. Some things I've learned: 1. Shooting Rabbits with plungers is great 2. Cow tipping is the past. Cow swinging is the future. 3. Trying to move one's left hand up and down fast enough to get a stream of carrot juice to pump out whilst simulataneously aiming at Rabbits to shoot them in the face so as to fill up the snorkelling mask......er.... I'll get my coat.
  12. Anyone else reading/read this? I picked it up the other day and I'm hooked. I was a bit gutted to find there isn't much about the cocking about they do on Top Gear (other than his interview to get the job there's very little about anything other than the crash - May doesn't get a mention till half way through the book). A lot of the book, specifically about the early recovery, is written by his wife and no doubt a lot of people can relate to sitting at a loved one's bedside at hospital. It reminds me a lot of Michael J. Fox's autobiography; I was hoping to read about the filming of Back to the Future etc, but it understandably takes a back seat to his illness and is better for it. Gripping, at times funny, and emotional. I highly recommend it.
  13. I love the Goon Show - Any chance of a copy of those as well? I'll happily send some money/blank DVD's over for your trouble!
  14. Next on my list of things to do is tidy the garage so the Supe can go away for winter If I get my backside in gear (unlikely), I'll try and get the interior sorted out as well while its in hibernation.
  15. Could look at getting RLTC fitted? Had the back-end on mine slip out today on the drive to work - at least it woke me up! Glad both you and the car are ok.
  16. I've got an Astra VXR - its great fun. Looks agressive and really stands out. Good amount of power for FWD, even managed to annoy a 350z in it a few months back. Other than a sensor going funny after all the floods I've had no problems with it.
  17. Pah, the original Wolfinstein is where its at! Doom had new fangled idea's like stairs! I think Medal Of Honour: Airbourne is out today - I played the demo and was very impressed. No idea what the online bit is like, but the single player game is a lot of fun.
  18. Clear as mud I'm ok with the Lysley Arms bit, it was just the 'Tatsu event in Bath' that had me confused. I'll keep in simple and go direct I reckon.
  19. I'm confuzzled, I thought it was just off the M5 so a fair ways from Bath. Is there another event in Bath?
  20. I'll take the black Logo & Supra. Is Paypal ok for payment?

    Ha ha! Thats wicked
  22. Many moons ago I had a similar problem that turned out to be the bios battery was flat. It was replaced and all was well. I'm a bit crap on computers so I don't know if more modern PC's are likely to have the same problem.
  23. I think I'd crap myself driving over that! I'll stick to the twisties...
  24. Jesus thats nasty Hope driver & passenger are both ok
