Oh no, my GF's car is in having the MOT now, she better not ask me to borrow my car tomorrow. I am sure and ugly problem can rear it's head in the morning in time to save it from devastation/humiliation.

All done now. Thanks! For some strange reason I was thinking the holes in the glass adjusted the closing position. I was having a bit of a moment. Then I came in and re-read this post and realised what I should have been adjusting. Anyway adjusted it and got it right, then thought I'll make sure everything works. Put the window up and down a few times only for it to have moved I should have thought that it would first time round, so I re-did it again and all is well. Thanks Jezzy for the motor by the way I'll leave you some feedback in a mo'

Yeah good film. Sky+'ing it now. Another film of similar theme that's good is blood diamond. Just out on dvd.

What's the best way of adjusting this then. Putting the window up and then adjusting so it's pressing against the seals??

Thanks for that, as soon as I looked at all that I though shit what a job this is going to be. But as I read on I realised that only the last few lines apply. I have already had the door card off and all the motor to find the problem. I just needed to know how the mechanism splits from the glass and how best to get it out. I think you explained all that. Come to think of it with such a good write up, you've pretty much supplied and fitted the new one.

Has anybody changed the electric window mechanism on their car?? Just wondering if there's any tips on doing it, or is it a simple enough job. I know I did read that having fat stumpy digits makes it difficult

Got into the XBox now. I can see all the partitions etc. I transferred some music over to, just to make sure. Tomorrow I need to suss out the internet browser and weather etc. Had a quick play and couldn't get that bit to connect. Not really bothered about those bits but it would be nice to have the capability. Anyway I have had enough of that for one day now. I'll be on it again tomorrow. Thanks!

Yeah that's what I tried but couldn't get it to work. Does the IP of the XBox have to match the gaming adapter etc. What do you use to ftp into the XBox wirelessly, when wired I used to use flashfxp. Will that still work across the wireless connection

Right I have got the linksys gaming adapter now, but can't get it to connect wirelessly. My setup is as follows, Xbox will be connected to Linksys WGA54G wireless game adapter, then I have a netgear DG843G router, also my dell inspiron is on there wirelessly too. You access the settings of the linksys via the IP address in an internet explorer window. At first it wouldn't connect but then I set the netwrok connection and managed to get into the settings, but it only worked when hardwired to the laptop. As soon as I disconnected it there was no wireless signal. Any ideas?
