  1. Hmph! Shame they didn't do a proper job and do the seat and lid in the sexy stuff too - at the moment it looks like a bird with a cracking set of pins and buns but no top bollox LOL
  2. Errr, apparently so! Just been informed that the N/A doesn't have a crank position sensor. So now I need to figure out what a code 12 is on an N/A.
  3. Aw bollox:Pling: Cheers for the heads-up mate. I'll bung it back on tomorrow then (it's a real pain in the ass to get to ). Do you know if the error codes are different betwen an TTand an N/A? We get a code 12 - crank position sensor but if the car doesn't have one what's causing the code?? Cheers again :d
  4. (edited) Is this the crank position sensor?? Found up behind the crank pylley between the alternator and the block and bolted to the underside/back of the water pump?
  5. Code 12 = crank position sensor - unless the error codes on an N/A are different?? Cam position sensor sounds more possible as that area has been "tampered with" recently! Any idea where this particular item is located please?? Cheers mate - dunno what this bit I've just taken off is then??
  6. Well, got the car jacked up and under-tray removed (found an 8mm allen key I lost when I first got the car ) and still not sure if I can find the crank position sensor???? The nearest thing I can find is a slightly rusty cylinder (about 5in long) under/behind the alternator which seems to be bolted onto the underside of the water pump area. I can't see any wires coming out from it though or any sign of somewhere to connect wires. Most confusing grrr.
  7. Hijack:Pling: Still trying to find the crank position sensor - dunno what it looks like even
  8. I'll be along in the Focus () with ballast and sprog - weather permitting

  10. Supposedly but neither me nor Matt can seem to find it (Matt has plenty of experience with TTs)
  11. We now have a code 12 = crank position sensor. Can't find the wiring or the sensor though
  12. Cheers Colin, still can't see any sign of the bugger on the car though
  13. Anyone know where this is?? Matt Harwood's been round to help me try and get my car started - we got an error code 12 = crank position sensor. Problem is we can't sem to find it at all - no sign of any wiring going into that area at all:( Does anyone have any idea where/how we can find it/pics/anything please???
  14. Wahey!!! Another one in our lovely little corner of the world :) Welcome dude
  15. LOL cheers mate - hopefully one ignorant chin (mine) and one switched-on chin (Matts) will be scratched enough to figure it out - I'll hold the light and scratch whilst Matt does the real work. Just a gopher me
  16. No luck so far Matt's coming round tomorrow evening to try a few things - fingers crossed!!!
  17. LOL - yeah - when it suits THEM:Pling: :d
  18. That'd be cool Matt - don't suppose you have a dizzy cap/rotor arm I could borrow to see if that is the actual problem?? I'll PM you my number
  19. Cheers Keron, already checked all fuses and swapped relays around - no joy:(
  20. I'm sure it's nothing mechanical/engine related since there were no horrible noises first and all fluids are still in place. As I said, she turns over like the king lead from the dizzy is disconnected?
  21. No slow horrible death - the car still turns over fine! It just sounds as if there is either no fuel or no spark.
  22. There I was, driving home from work this evening. The only thing out of the ordinary was theat the oil light had stayed on (did this the other day for a while too) - I knew the oil levels were ok so didn't panic too much. Crawling along behind a couple of tractors when all of a sudden the engine died:( I have fuel and I definately have a spark at the coil - what are tha chances of the problem being dizzy cap/rotor arm related??? Got the car AA Relay'd home now at least but now I need to know where to start looking for the problem. Where's the best place to buy a new dizzy cap & rotor arm and how much am I looking at?? Any ideas gratefully received:)
  23. A single turbo weighs around 15kg (I posted out three when I had my GT4!!) so I's imagine you'd be looking at around 35-40kg for a pair + fanny mould.
