Is there more than on spigot bearing available? When I replaced it I get it from Toyota and from what I can remember the looked the same. Come to think of I made a clutch centralizing tool and use the old bearing to find the inner diameter of the bearing and it worked a treat when fitting the clutch so would of guessed it the same size, so pretty sure I have the correct spigot bearing in mine. If it was the spigot or input shaft would the noise not be more engine rev related as mine defiantly seems more wheel speed related. Cheers Neil

The noise sounds like its got a straight cut gearbox in it but only decelarating at slower speeds.

I have not check them but there is a chance as the car has been sat for a year while I did the engine, but my mate never mentioned anything when he MOT'd it, but I will check them before striping anything. If my diff does need rebuilding is that something you can do Chris? And what sort of price would I be looking at? Cheers Neil

Been doing some looking on the internet and found that it might be the rear diff pinion bearing's. That is the only time people describe a noise when decelerating only. My whining noise seems to be wheel speed related, as when I change from 3rd to 2nd the noise gets louder but does not get fasted with the revs it stays in tune with wheel speed. So diff sounds like a good place to start but it’s a bit wet at the moment to get under the car and check for any play in the pinion shaft.

Just rebuild the supra with forged bottom end, and now driving around running it in a bit, and have noticed when gearing down and slowing up for junction/roundabouts a whining noise from what sounds like gearbox/clutch area. I can’t hear the noise at any other time e.g. under acceleration or letting off at higher speeds. I have a 6 speed manual that I changed the oil in about 3 years ago but has only done 2-3000 mile since, I am also running a carbonetic triple plate clutch but when I hear the noise if I press the clutch in the noise disappears. It also has a new spigot bearing fitted when I rebuild the car. Any idea’s what it could be would be greatly appreciated, hoping tits not the box but thought it would be more of a noise under acceleration if the box was knackered. Cheers Neil

I can see the logic there I work with a bloke that runs a motorbike race team and they run there engines in buy doing a 20 min track session then change the oil job done, but then the engine will be rebuilt 4-5 race weekends later. Don't really want to be rebuilding the engine again anytime soon so a slow running in I think will be the way to go.

I have nearly completed my engine rebuild, I have brought a fully forged bottom end that has be rebuilt, and have also striped and rebuild my head, my question are:- What oil should I run? I have been advised to use a basic mineral oil to help the engine bed in or do I just run it on pro s like I always have? How many miles should I do before first oil change was thinking about 500? How many miles before it's ran in and I can start having some fun? Thanks for your help Neil

Can a standard TT head gasket be used on an 87mm re-bore? I’ve heard of people using them on 86.5mm re-bore. Also what’s the standard head gasket thickness is it 1.2mm? Cheers Neil

Been the on the syvecs web site and says there are £30+vat and the recommend getting them from http://www.jti.uk.com but on there site there £80 but comes with 1.8m cable but £50 for a cable is a bit steep to me? Does state they are bosch but cant find the part number

All the work has been done by my self apart from the fitting and mapping of the ECU which was done by ryan.G i also have dyno print out from SRR. It did not have active spoiler when i first got the car but i fitted one, and it all works i changed the oil every 3000-4000 mile or each year if they aint done that milage that goes for all my cars the supra dont't do meany miles each year and i dont run it over the winter as it is my second car,apart from the first year i had the car in 2005, it was my only car. The car was imported and regersted feb 1999 with 13670 on the clock the guy i brought it off, brought it august 1999 and told me he was the first uk owner and had it untill i brought it of him. i have all mots to prove milage. feb 1999 13670 miles dec 2000 36621 miles sep 2002 53893 miles aug 2003 64266 miles aug 2004-nov 2005 car was of the road untill i brought november 2005 68337miles (this is when i brought the car) November 2006 (did not MOT because did not use over winter) April 2007 79421 miles april 2008 81366 miles april 2009 82813 miles april 2010 84019 miles april 2011 85220 miles Thanks for all your comments i think from what has been said i ll fit the cams finish the fitting of the air filters and get it remapped by ryan.G with print out of the final power out put, then take some nice new pitures and put her up for sale. It has 85k on the clock i have owned the car for 6 years now and serviced with silcoline pro s every year. the photo of the engine bay was taken just after i had fitted the turbos and piped everything up. There is a breather pipe fitted that leads to a catch tank with breather filter. i know the mesh filter is not the best this is why i started to fit the 2 apexi filters i ve just not got round to finishing it. The power is better since the boost leak has been fix i could feel the when driving it, this i believe this because although the boost pressure is not increased the turbos and engine are not working as hard to produce the same boost pressure there for the engine is not wasting power.

No i ve got some very very fine metal mesh/filter on them, i am half way through making pipe work up to mount 2 apexix filters but not got them to fit yet in the room i have left yet. Dont think the turbos are maxed out at 600bhp but cant find much info i believe there good for 500-600bhp each but cant be sure if this is right or not.

Thinking of selling the supra don’t get to driver her much anymore plus got baby on the way in September and looking at moving house so need to sell the supra and free up some cash for the deposit on the new house. But every time I drive her I don’t want to sell but needs must . How much do you think its worth? Was thinking around £10-11,000?
