  1. I think they were JDM only, like the chrome dial surrounds. You can't even order them by part number over here.
  2. Never done it (I'm de-catted) so don't know the answer but suggest search for "bleed valve"
  3. I've just done that and realised I think I may have been talking bollox. It is well over 20 years since I've played with electronics, must have a fading memory. Time to get my slippers and horlicks I think Better wait until someone else comes along.
  4. Yes, that's it Paul. http://www.satcure-focus.com/tutor/page3.htm
  5. +ve will flow from the non stripe to the striped end.. i.e. Connect the non-striped end to the -ve battery , then the bulb between the striped end and +ve battery at it will light. Test it out.
  6. That'll be that scientific principle thingy about observing affects what you are observing. By adding the text to this thread it changed the search results.
  7. "auto fluid toyota" and look at the 1st thread.
  8. Yes., very true. It keeps the concentration up and the fulid fresher, using water will dilute it - there are probably other reasons also.
  9. I'm pretty certain that it should be right to the top, can't quite remember. At least the core is covered so you arn't dry. I've always used Toyota 4-life, do a search, I'm sure there are a few suggestions.
  10. For the rad cap, push down and twist anti-clock I think, should take about 1/3 turn and pop off. The tank is called an expansion tank and yes the other pipe is just a vent for air and also to safely blow any exess coolant out.
  11. Erm, yes!!! On the left side as you look at it there is a Min and a Max line. It needs to be topped up with coolant to between those marks. When the engine is cold take off the radiator cap. It should be full.
  12. If you get it the first time you touch the brakes in reverse, not matter what speed you are doing or how hard you hit the pedal then that is apparently normal for UK brakes. The loose subframe bolts tend to either be a creaking when parking and/or a clunk when you stamp on the brakes.
  13. There was a discussion about this some time ago when swapping fuels - think it was when Optimax came out and someones EGT dropped by over 100C after resetting the ECU following a fuel swap.
  14. Have you reset the ECU when changing fuels?
  15. Sorry Scott, I didn't actually see it, just the report from Leon.
  16. That caused a few head scratching moments at Leons last year when I was getting my new block fitted. Apparently there is also an hole somewhere that he didn't expect and it pissed oil everywhere when first started. Can't remember where it was unfortunatly.
  17. It's been in about 1 1/2 years and I drive like a pussy
  18. It is DOT 5, well that is what I was told and what the recipt says, can you tell by looking at it? I know that the 3.1, 4.1 and 5.1 are the same base but different grades and 5 is completly different. I just want to make sure that if I put in Brand X DOT5 it won't screw up whatever is in there.
  19. I know I've got DOT 5 fluid in my system and it now needs topping up. I assume that it can be any DOT 5 fluid, not just the same type as is already in there.
  20. The GT4 will be much easier and safer to push hard and will have much better traction on the loose. The Supra can bite and bite hard. The Supra will destroy the GT4 performance wise, if you are looking at the 0-60 times they can be very misleading on quick cars.
  21. Hmmm, lets try again.... What you can't really see is the wing and bonnet also died in that incident
  22. I see the point, but there are differences and without the correct manuals they ca't be 100% that they treat it right. BTW it's not just Toyota that can crash a Supra. This is what a large specialist company managed to do to mine when the service manager was trying to diagnose a BHG.
  23. This was covered in depth a while ago. Manuals for the J spec Supra are not available in English which makes it difficult for UK mechanics to give the Toyota level of service they could give to a UK car. TGB may point you towards JEM, a division of one of their dealers, who have the Japanese manuals and Japanese mechanics.
