  1. Been looking for VIN decode table found a few dead links though. If one exists, where can I find it, It does not appear to be a sticky anywhere. That is unless I'm asleep, been up since 2:30 am.
  2. Dont want to say stupid but.... You are trying to undo it and not tighten it.
  3. Only three in West Sussex but they still have new signs for the A23 "Unmarked police cars operating". That will be for the Audi and Evo's that have been spotted running up and down the road (not sure how often) well before the signs were put up. Yes its easy to take the piss but when you want some help from the authorities it can seem to be an uphill struggle, but they will happily spend what seems a disproportionate amount of money on catching motorists and not doing training days for burglaries etc.
  4. To err is Human (29 times apparently) It takes a computer to really foul things up.
  5. Same was done to two of my ex partners cars in Gatwick staff carpark. And she was a customs officer. Perhaps that why.........
  6. Unless mortgage co makes a fuss and wont lend money ... Undamaged asbestos roofs are fine if left alone. There is loads of the stuff around and its fine until its disturbed. Its only the dust that causes a problem not the tiles/ panels /insulation that you find on almost all old buildings where it was used almost everywhere.
  7. had a minor shunt in works van. Not enough to set off air bags. When I tried to restart engine (deisel) had flames under bonnet. Out came the fire extinguisher. A grands worth of personal stuff saved. great idea to have one
  8. If it was close to Cranston Close where my brother in law lives it was probably me. My nephews thought a black one in the area was me at first. Rear picnic table is now a standard spoiler but stickers are still there. Will have to find space for '07 soon. When I am next around that way will see if you all are home.
  9. Both within a couple of hundred yards but don't think they were traveling together Followed you down in friends car. First one fully kitted, missed the numberplate. Second ****HKS ended up in Worthing on the A24
  10. Just how dissapoilted can I get 52 views and only two posotive replies. Do none of you own a second vehicle?
  11. Regardless of the when's where's and why's this guy was breaking just about every road traffic act regulation in the book and should be dealt with accordingly. I have had pretty much all the driver training available to the general public and all of that training is quite clear. Speed does not kill. Innapropriate use of speed kills. 80+ mph even on a clear motorway is innapropriate, I have been 'spooked' by shadows enough to make me twitch at the controls. That is the start of a major incident regardless of the skills I may have aquired and the familiarisation I may be seeking to acheive. Even with ABS 50 mph on a wet grass embankment seems like an eternity. The guy is using every trick in the book to avoid prosecution and to prevent the police from looking like complete idiots in the face of an obvious incident where the law was broken. Ok they have a tough job, mainly because they and the government have successfilly alienated every single motorist with more than a few brain cells. IMHO they should pull their finger out and start applying their rules to their own. Nick him for speeding as they would for Joe Soap. Ok he would lose is job. So would I it I were nicked for 2/3 of that speed. If the police want to operate a 'one rule for us' then they can, only they must expect a decline in the respect that the general public have for them, and that is already on a rapid downhill trend.
  12. For my sins I drive around all day in a Transit connect and I have a Marlin kit car and a Celica apart from the Supra. How about some new club stickers (for the outside) 'My other car is a Supra' Can any of the grapics boys come up with something.
  13. Thats the way it works. If you get the test less than one month from expiry then you get a new MOT valid for one year after the expiry of the old one. If you time it right 13 months. Me, Had to get the MOT done early as will not have much time for repairs if necessary over the next six weeks, Thought I was planning well ahead, and look what happens. So I only get 12 months because I am 5 weeks before expiry date. Not a problem cos it drops the MOT into sumer time, I cant jack the car up in my garage so home maintenance has to be done outside in the elements.
  14. What with stuff going on I thought I would try an MOT more than a month before it was due to expire. The idea was to give myself plenty of time in case it failed. It passed!!!!!!!!
  15. Surely Mawby can do a quick run of User CP data for senior members and let us know the numbers. Are there enough of us 50+ to start a splinter group.
  16. Went up to see the car. Unfortunately not for me but.... It's a pretty trick modified vehicle, lots of time and effort lavished on the bodywork to make it look great, a real eve catcher. If you want something to stand out and be noticed this is the one for you. Even my brother in law (an Audi driver) was impressed.
  17. Is there a difference in tank covers between the UK and J-Spec? Mine is creased after accident damage and I want a new one.
  18. If you are broadband I can email my collection 36 Tracks and you can decide PM me.
  19. On a strictly first come first served basis. Accomodation is available for those wanting to arrive a day early and leave a day late. First Dibs to Paul E Maximum accomodation 8 people, less Paul E.......
  20. May was a gas. Got to do it again. If you are off on anoter recce Paul give us a shout, accomodation will be free of course.
  21. If you drop the speed limit you drop driving skills and awareness to the minimum acceptable limit. You will spend more time looking at your Roadangel or similar, than looking at the fookin road. This morning I followed a police camera van up the M23. Everyone backed up behind it, scared to overtake at even 71mph. Not only that, the bugger (yes officer) was sat in the middle lane. The shit he was causing behind him was unbelievable. I don't advocate unlimited speeds but.. 80+ on a motorway (other than the M25 today) is probably a realistic speed limit, but some of the new (in sussex) country road speed limits of 40 just do not make sense. An interesting observation though. Is it true that the minimum speed limit applied to a road in one direction automatically applies to the other. I am thinking of a stretch of road in Sussex that opens from a single lane to two lane at 40mph separated by raised curbs from a single lane in the other direction at 40mph. The joke is that shortly after the two lane returns to single the limit increases to National. Is there anyone who can answer the riddle of how limits are applied?
