  1. On a TT probably is.. Same with Skylines they are very restricted by standard Air filter and exhaust, NA is very different to TT, Same as if you take both cats out of a TT its not as ear deafeningly loud as a NA with boths cats out, Most of the neg comments on here are from TT owners, not NA owners who actually drive them on a daily basis and can see a benefit or not on "their NA" As a NA owner who dives one every day i have found the Induction kit to be beneficial to "my car", so really this argument can go on and on ... but "i see benefits" with it on my car ... My answer would be if you fit one of your NA if you see benefits well and good if you don't put your Air box back on.. simple Personally my Air box will not be going back on
  2. yes ... 80mph light throttle "constant speed " and it returns fantastic mpg, Hence longer journeys we actually use the Supe rather than the RX8 Well set up , maintained and correct tyre pressures plays dividens being a manual too may perhaps play a part too ????????? Either way it makes ownership that little bit more enjoyable not worrying about big fuel bills Saying that I just filled back up again to the brim again after a week commuting to work and back Topped her back up and could only put in 23 litres. i've covered 135 miles so thats roughly 26 mpg around town and a little bit of dual carriageway.
  3. pm me with your email address , I will send you photos of mine. My personal view is yes the standard intake strangles the NA.. I'm having a custom pipe made to replace the rubber pipe to that has the resonator boxes etc between the kit and throttle housing, Mine revs better , picks up better, in general my car is totally different with the standard box on
  4. I have much better throttle response , better pick up in general and better mpg Have had both on my NA and the HKS is much better on my Supe with the heat sheild and cold air feed fitted A TT may not be so good as heat soak probs.. well that is the general opinion written here by the TT guys But on my NA there are noticeable gains over stock box
  5. Well mine runs better with the HKS kit More mpg Better throttle response better mid range Have run it with both on and the hks clearly is better "on my Supe"
  6. [quote=Babe;I do about £350 a month in petrol, £350.00 !!! in fuel ... I thought £100 - £125.00 was bad enough
  7. send me pm anyway ...if you want I'll email you some better pics if that is of help No drilling required for the sheld use the 2x holes already on the Chassis leg Cold feed pipe is important though,
  8. Just realised only have pics of the heatsheild I will take more pics tomorrow of Cold air feed and send you. Can send you a pic of heatsheild now though
  9. Have had good experiences of the Stainless mesh type Cone Had a Blitz one on my FTO and was great and easy to wash out, You can see when it needs cleaning
  10. go to members list and look up name and send a PM
  11. My cold Air feed comes in from under o/s indicator and then through the blanking plate used by the TT
  12. You got a good franchise then, Its like bodyshops, some are blinding and others... shocking Dentmasters etc are really clever, all done with levers and in some cases heat guns ... clever stuff
  13. They are franchises So like most things you get good and bad, You really need to speak to someone who has used that specific franchise It is a short term repair though
  14. HKS filter is really poor .
  15. TT is questionable. (heat soak ) NA big gains !! PM me and i'll send you pics of my set up I can't seem to put pics on here as too big and can't reduce their size It cost bugger all to Bit of Alloy plate 1x Flexi hose 2x house gutter pipe couplers (makes the end of the pipes look pretty ) Out of interest though, I'm thinking of changing my HKS mushroom filter as apparantley the filteration is really bad , Looking for a nice cone filter , Turbo fit are also going to make me a nice Polished pipe to replace that nasty rubber pipe between the HKS kit and the throttle housing Custom job that will still allow all the vac pipes to be connected as they are now into the pipe
  16. Rear wiper arm seal?? Do the hose test
  17. I agree, if you have a non standard spoiler on, chances are it had no sealer put around the studs. You only need a small ring of sealer around the studs/ bolt hole, Don't plaster the whole mating face with it or you'll have a real nightmare should you wish to put the std spolier back on Also check the Tailgate drain holes are unblocked, You could always take the trim off sit in the back and get someone to spray the tailgate with a hose
  18. Why you putting standard back on ? Are you NA or TT ? NA is much better with an Induction kit... providing you have a heatsheild and cold Air feed, Any NA owner will tell you of the transformation with a Induction kit on. But each to their own.. TT you may poss have heat soak issues, but a good sheild should help matters,
  19. Dentmasters... Very clever guys. Regarding Chips away... mmmmh, clever guys no doubt about it Do good job if you plan to keep your car short term, They use water based paint and laquer Any job that is done outside in all weathers is suspect using heaters and hairdryers. I Know loads of have people who have used them and when i was in the Trade we used them too, and yes it looks great Just wait a few months and the you'll see what I mean
  20. ERRRRRRRRR .. Tough one that... Nope
  21. Well I packed off the missus and the 13 yr old Lad to Spain yesterday morning for the week ... I feel like that Macualy Caulkin kid in the movie Home alone.. I've been eating crap ... doing what i want..... when i want .. Playing music far to loud ............. yahooooooooo :nana:
  22. Funny as hell ... Bet there are few on here you can relate to this ??? Turn those speakers up ... sit back and enjoy the ride http://videos.streetfire.net/video/9b2495cc-413a-49ab-909e-980a003e5f46.htm :rlol: :rlol:
