    Auto vs Manual

that's impressive in any car! who cares if it is manual or auto PS: there is no way I'm posting in this thread, this topic has been covered more times than I can remember!
  2. can't wait to play on it I've always been rythmic and tapped out new rythms on the keyboard etc but a chance to play properly will be excellent. I'll add live drums to my music when I get the hang of it
  3. well we looked at the dtexplorer - that's what got me thinking about it but liked the look and feel of the roland v-drums more. Nicer setup, felt more like a real kit. went for the entry level TD3-KW as a starting point, can upgrade/expand it as required as time goes on http://www.roland.co.uk/drum_room_catdet.asp?id=TD3KW
  4. Wen't out today to get presents for others (which I did) and ended up getting an electronic drum kit too ooops well Christmas comes early for me picking it up monday, can't wait...
  5. Chief, I think you tried to pm me the other day about this but sent me a blank reply, not sure if you wanted to say something...
  6. no, there is no 6 speed semi auto. There is a semi auto "tiptronic" box which is basically the 4 speed autobox with tiptronic controls though, expect you mean that
  7. I second that! but test drive before you buy...
  8. yep, just waying up the options really. Basically I have some sites setup using apache on a win2k machine that's been running for years. I'd like to upgrade the whole thing as it's in need of it. At the same time I'd like to use it for some development testing, mainly .Net web services and maybe some J2EE also. I was thinking of making a new machine and once set-up, migrating the existing sites to it. They all currently use Apache/PHP/MySQL (LAMP without the L lol). So the new platform might either be win32 with IIS and .NET or Linux with Apache and Mono. I do like Apache however. I think I might go for CentOS 4.4 (downloading), PHP5.x, MySQL and Mono on a new machine, that should support all existing sites + the new development I want to try out. Just need to work out what J2EE application server would be suit my needs also for that new platform
  9. probably depends how lowered your car is, mine is very low... but I get by. Depends how and where you drive I guess
  10. Well I have a redhat 9 setup, but that is not that new anymore. CentOS, ahhh yes that's what I was trying to remember, maybe I need the latest version of that then... I never said that? What do you mean? Rather just Apache interoperating with .Net on a windows machine (because I have one set up already). It's only a .net port (mono) if I'm forced to use linux - and if I'm using apache then it looks like this is the only way because the windows apache - .Net module is not currently supported Apache on windows is not that uncommon, I've been running it for years and never had a moments trouble.
  11. ahhh right I wouldn't even waste time passing on information if it was that doubtful / secondhand
  12. that's a bit harsh, anecdotal evidence is valid (so long as it can be trusted) because who is going to buy wheels that they've already heard are rubbish from hearing other peoples bad experience...
  13. Chilli - 2 x Team Dynamics @ 125 ish each plus agro because one got an internal crack that led to slow punctures and damaged tyres that took quite a while to suss out! Chilli - Compomotive, Work and OEM wheels never bent Chilli - word of mouth of bent BKs and also cracked Speedlines (but these contain magnesium so are brittle anyway)
  14. there is absolutely a big difference in quality of wheels, I've experienced bad ones and never again. What Nic says is absolutely right. Your wheels might be an exception to that, but to convince me I'd need some evidence tbh
  15. that is fine, but that is just your say so that they are as good or better than say some work, rays or compomotives where is the evidence? Do they have a proven track record? Otherwise anyone buying them is just taking a gamble and my advise on wheels and tyres is, don't take a gamble!
  16. well I've bought cheap wheels before and never again (not saying yours are rubbish though, I know nothing about them) you typically get what you pay for within reason (except when you start paying for designer brand names). I previously had some compomotive MOs for my Integrale and they were excellent wheels also (like Work wheels are) I've had team dynamics wheels and although not cheap they basically fell to bits = rubbish waste of money also wheels like Bk I've heard are the same
  17. me too lol maybe you should start a new poll
  18. well I'd recommend work equips also whatever you get, I'd say Deep dish Nice and wide Simple 5 (maybe 6 or 7) spoke is better than multispoke (suits the car better) Don't get 3 spoke Single colour finishes often look better Get a good quality wheel - they last much longer, cheap wheels are nothing but agro Don't go larger than 18" Allow budget for decent tyres! enjoy
  19. that is true, the top secret fronts are sooo low, mine is rediculous to the point of almost being totally inpractical - I've thought about raising the suspension time and time again, but nah I just drive carefully and avoid speed humps and bad incline changes...
  20. I really like the top secret fronts, but I may be biased lol but I still prefer OEM sideskirts to any other I've ever seen TBH regardless of the front
  21. I'd go OEM too, I have them also and I think they are very nice and hard to beat
  22. If you need to ask I can't help but wonder if it is not the right car for you. although I've found mine affordable and actually not bad if driven very gently (I've never bothered to work out the mpgs though, just fill it up when it needs it). The supra is a really nice car to drive gently (ironically enough) I've found, just cruising and using 6th gear, it's very effortless and torquey
  23. hmm why did you change the front in the first place if you don't mind me asking?
  24. What's wrong with mytyres, I heard they were good, were recommended by someone at work and their prices are some of the cheapest I've ever seen Falkens are good but on mytyres for the size I'm after I can get bridgestone RE050A's for the same price, makes the choice a no brainer I guess
  25. Is redhat still available for free though?
